Greetings, all. We're about to start our final episode in the current run of Crag: The Numbers Game
After Episode 40, Crag, perhaps one day, will return at a much later point in time. I politely request that I be the one to bring back a new season/version of Crag. As noted earlier, CDM Enterprises (read: me) wants to pursue other projects here at NGC.
In order to pursue, something had to give. This lead to the quality decision to end Crag's current run after Episode 40. Crag will end up having an award-winning and healthy six-year run. We thank you for helping us get there.
Travis Coulter returns with three match wins and $222,700. If he wins this match, the executive decision was made to go ahead and award Travis a new car and a gas card worth more than $300,000.
Jon Darrall, winner of $18,500 in a special audience game, challenges.
As we ask both players to check in on the thread, if one or both players have to be away for holiday vacation, we can easily get in the first numbers game of the match before taking an extended holiday break. We can also easily finish the match after New Year's if necessary. From this end, there's currently no out-of-town travel planned for Christmas (maybe a day trip -- but not much more than that).

Current champion on MG-HSH is also the champ here.
Unfortunately, said champ is unavailable to defend the crown on either show.
While we've already made our executive decisions over at MG-HS, we'll have to make one here. Next netizen to respond gets to oppose Jon on Crag.
Winner of this match has a chance to win at least the car we've "had on offer this week" in Super Crag.

Staff announcer: A high school football championship wrap-up -- tonight at eleven. (lights in studio gradually are turned on)
(audience cheers; cameras pan to standing ovation) You're not getting up to leave us, are you? (scattered laughter from crowd) Well, friends, this is it. This is our final episode of Crag: The Numbers Game -- at least for now. We hope we ride off into the sunset giving a million bucks to one of our players. Make welcome Jon Darrall and Nels Snesrud. (audience cheers)Now, unfortunately, our champion was not able to rejoin us for our series finale. Sometime down the road, if we resurrect Crag, we gladly welcome back Travis Coulter in his quest to resume his winning ways. So, in a moment of last minute decision making, we just decided to let our players from our little pick-up game participate here in the series finale. Since you've already played a game, you know how Crag works. So, let's get this series finale party started... (ding)...with a single digit question. As always, the right answer's between 1 and 6 inclusive. And away we go. Single digit question: In the Super Crag bonus round, the champion is trying to avoid the gremlin -- who has how many eyes? 28 jmdarrall 36 nelson17 48 randomizer.org (Nels buzzes in)Nels?

(scattered cheers) You guys realize you've cheered for the gremlin for the first time in our six-year history. (scattered laughter from crowd) Does our gremlin have 2 eyes? (ding; audience applause)You betcha. Nels, as you know, with that correct answer, you've earned up to two rolls of our Crag dice -- to try to score as many points as you can. Here are the different ways you can score a lot of points. There are four different straights in the game of Crag worth 20 points each. The 1-2-3 make up a low straight; 4-5-6 a high straight; 1-3-5 an odd straight and 2-4-6 an even straight. It doesn't matter how the numbers appear on the board. If you roll three of the same number, that's a triple for 25 points. And, remember, 13 *is* lucky in Crag. If you roll different numbers that total 13, I'll double the sum for 26 points. *However* -- if you have a pair of numbers plus an odd number that total 13, that's a Crag for 50 points. (audience cheers)(rolling sfx)The dice are now rolling, Nels. We lock them into your buzzer one at a time.
[Nels, please "stop the dice" with three letters from A to F inclusive. You may repeat letters if you think that helps.]

Stop on 2. Stop on a 1. Stop on a 4. Well -- dice total 7 points here. You may take the sum of the dice in points, Nels, or reroll any or all of the dice and try again.

Re roll ace

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Dec 8, 2019 7:40:08 GMT -5
In an effort to not misunderstand, did you want to reroll just the 1, sometimes nicknamed an "ace" in certain dice rolls? If not, did you want to reroll all of the dice and you're submitting new stopper letters of A, C, and E?

No problem. Never want to misunderstand. Reroll all. (rolling sfx)And away we go. (ding)Stop on a 1. (ding)Stop on a 3. (ding) (scattered cheers) And stop on a 5. That's an odd straight for 20 points. After Round 1: jmdarrall nelson17First player to reach 100 points wins the game and $2500 -- with $500 award to the runner-up. First player to roll a Crag in the match scores an extra $1000. First player to win $5000 in total wins the match -- and then goes on to play for a brand new car and up to $1,000,000 in our Super Crag. Round 2 question on alphabetics -- sort of. Ordinal number question: Is the first, second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth letter in the English alphabet the most frequently used letter? 62 jmdarrall 90 nelson17 67 randomizer.org(Jon buzzes in) Jon?

(time passes) (buzz buzz)Didn't stop the dice in time. So the round ends here with the dice automatically stopped on the lowest possible award of 4 points. After Round 3: jmdarrall nelson17With the score nearly tied, we go on to a question about American history. For this next question, you may respond with an ordinal number or a Roman numeral: Which Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protect the right of Americans to keep and bear arms? 49 jmdarrall 55 nelson17 12 randomizer.org(Jon buzzes in)And that's Jon.
