The definition between the two is a verb. I must override the correct answer and nels and justin both must battle again. Here is the definitions between the two and the one that defines the clue dad90 had.
is that ascend is to move upward, to fly, to soar, while arise is to come up from a lower to a higher position.

Thanks for the heads up to both c3po626 and GameShowNetwork. The Avarice one will still stand, according to GameShowNetwork as I have asked him, and we will battle it out for the Brown properties again, so let's readjust the scores.... WILLIAM -- NELS -- JUSTIN $1890 -- $4250 -- $2570 And I have another A clue for Nels and Justin only. Remember, whoever gets it right will get a Monopoly. A clue: To put in correct order or proper sequence.Nels: 24 Justin: 22 Magic #: 24 WILLIAM -- NELS -- JUSTIN $1890 -- $4250 -- $2570 (Buzz-In!)And Nels buzzes in! What's your answer? (Buzzer)Nels, I'm afraid that is wrong, and this time, we can't save you, because the answer we're looking for is Arrange. Also, for getting that wrong, you have now just given Justin the Monopoly for the Brown properties. Change them all to Green! Brown - Florida Avenue (Justin)SUBWAY Brown - Miami Avenue (Justin)Brown - Biscayne Avenue (Justin)You're also going to get the combined value of those 3 properties, or $410! WILLIAM -- NELS -- JUSTIN $1890 -- $4250 -- $2980 (Ding; Audience Applause)Now that we got that cleared up, let's go back to the W clue, and Justin said "Where", which that is the correct answer for $210! White - Lombard Street (Justin)SQUEEZE PLAY White - Market Street ($210) White - Fisherman's Wharf ($250) WILLIAM -- NELS -- JUSTIN $1680 -- $4040 -- $2980 (Ding; Audience Applause)And by the way William and Nels, you have both given me the wrong answer for that W clue, so that will cost you $210 on that one. So now, with all of that cleared up, Nels has $4,040; Justin at $2,980; and William at $1,680. Now we shall proceed to Market Street, also with the value of $210, and here's your clue. W clue: Great sorrow or grief.William: 18 Nels: 91 Justin: 27 Magic #: 75 WILLIAM -- NELS -- JUSTIN $1680 -- $4040 -- $2980 (Buzz-In!)And Nels buzzes in! What's your answer?

Judges, are we going to accept that? (Ding)That's good enough. Woe is what we're looking for, but Weep is also acceptable as well. Change that property to Gold! White - Lombard Street (Justin)SQUEEZE PLAY White - Market Street (Nels)White - Fisherman's Wharf ($250) WILLIAM -- NELS -- JUSTIN $1680 -- $4250 -- $2980 (Ding; Audience Applause)That takes you back to $4,250; and we're now going to Fisherman's Wharf, with the value of $250, and here's your clue. W clue: A frankfurter.William: 7 Nels: 52 Justin: 39 Magic #: 11 WILLIAM -- NELS -- JUSTIN $1680 -- $4250 -- $2980 (Buzz-In!)And William buzzes in! What's your answer?
