(time up buzzer)Time's up. Travis didn't answer and missed the 24 hour deadline. Strike one penalty and circle gets the square. (ding)The correct answer was Nunavut. Travis gets his first strike missing his deadline. Miss two more and he's disqualified. Matt, it's your turn. Pick a square...

The actor who was originally cast as Marty in the motion picture "Back To The Future" was... ...Eric Stolz. Circle gets the square and the win! (winning bell sounds, win cue, cheers and applause)And our challenger is in a huge lead. Matt with $6,750 while our champion Travis is struggling with $2,250. Fear not, champ... because you still have a shot at winning both rounds. For now, let's clear the board and move on to the next round. Round 4 is now worth $4,000. $250 for each captured square. This time, the challenger goes first. Matt, please pick a square.

(cheers and applause)Bill McDee, host of "Three On A Match" right here on NBC. Bill... before I read this question, I have one quick thing... I heard a rumor that you have invented the "Star Wheel" for the Super Match. Care to show us how it works?
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Nov 4, 2019 6:21:12 GMT -5
Thank you for asking Tony. It was a concept I thought of a while ago. I was unable to make an actual wheel but I did create a simple design showing what one section of the nine sections of the wheel might look like... This would represent just one of 9 sections of the star wheel, as there would be one section for each celebrity. Each celebrity would have four 20s, four 30s and one 50. This would allow any given celebrity to team up with the Super Match contestant to play for up to 50 times the audience match amount won, rather than limiting it to just one celebrity. It would still be a 1 in 9 chance, (9 out of 81 spots) to hit the big 50.

While our producer Jenny is waiting on the approval, here's your question, Bill...
What day of the week was the initial October 24, 1929, crash that kicked off the Great Depression?

(chuckling)
You would ask me a happy question wouldn't you???
Well I wasn't quite yet born when it happened, but the event was known as "Black Thursday", long before the day after Thanksgiving was called "Black Friday".
Thursday, final answer.

(time up bell rings)Ladies and gents... our judge Von Erik has informed to me that Matt Ringgenberg is disqualified for cheating. Therefore, his total winnings on MG will not be awarded, the Secret Square prize package will be carried over in our next program, and his cash total in this portion is now null and void. Because of that incident, Travis Coulter is still our champion with $2,250! (winning bell sounds, win cue, loud cheers and sustained applause)Travis, you may now exit your desk and meet up with Doug. Coming up next, our champion will once again try his luck at winning the big bucks by spinning the Star Wheel. We'll return with Doug as Travis plays for $100,000 in our Super Match right after this commercial time out. Don't go away... (cheers, applause continues)*fade to commercial* ========================================================================
