You were indeed too late, Marc, as Kevin and Doug beat you to the punch. However, I will give you some good news in a PM a bit later. For right now, let's get this first episode of Lingo Plus between Kevin and Doug underway. All deadlines are 48 hours, and away we go. (cue Super Password theme) George: It's Lingo. It's more than just Lingo. It's Lingo Plus! And now, here's the host of Lingo Plus, Mark Liotta! (I come out to a tremendous applause from the audience) Me: Thank you, George Gray. Thank you, audience. (Theme fades out) Welcome one and all to the premiere of a brand new show here on the NGC network called Lingo Plus. It's still the classic word game you all know and love, but with a twist. Hence the title of Lingo Plus, and I'll explain what the plus means in a little bit. But first, let's meet the players that will be doing battle today on Lingo Plus. Kevin Kolsen and Doug Morris. Gentlemen, please tell the folks at home about yourselves.

Well we're glad to have you with us. Best of luck to both of you as we begin our match. The idea is still to solve as many five letter words as you can; however, the show is called Lingo Plus. Here's where the plus comes into play. Once a word has been solved, it becomes a clue to a puzzle that will be shown on the monitor behind me. All of the words used as clues for the puzzles are related to the solution for the puzzle, so keep that in mind as you play. When it comes to solving words, if you attempt to use a word that's more than five letters, is not a real word, or you take too long to guess a word, control passes to the next player. Whoever has accumulated the most money at the end of the day becomes our champion and goes on to play our bonus round for a chance to win $25,000 cash as well as a nice prize. All right, I think we're ready to play the game now that I've explained everything, so let's get going. Kevin, here comes your Lingo board.
(Kevin) 3 18 34 47 63 6 20 35 50 66 7 23 40 51 67 11 25 42 55 70 14 27 44 58 75
And now for Doug's board.
(Doug) 1 16 31 47 61 4 19 34 50 65 5 20 36 55 69 8 23 39 56 70 9 24 43 59 72
And we'll mark ten numbers off on both boards.
(Kevin) 3 18 34 X 63 6 X X 50 66 7 23 X 51 X X 25 42 55 70 X X 44 X X
(Doug) 1 16 31 47 61 4 X X 50 65 5 X X 55 69 X 23 39 X X 9 X 43 X X
In this round, you win $250 for each word you solve and $500 for each puzzle you solve. Kevin, you get control first and here comes the first word right now.

Have an idea on the solution to the puzzle, Kevin?

That most certainly makes sense. People do have parties to celebrate their birthdays after all. Is it a birthday? (buzzer) It is not a birthday. Good guess, though. Reach into your hopper and pull out two balls. (Pick two numbers between 1 and 18 to pull out two balls)

Score is $250-$0 and Kevin retains control as we go to the next word.

Two chances at a Lingo with 6 and 44. $500 to nothing for Kevin, but it's still early in the game. And Kevin, you retain control for this next word.
