Henrietta the Hippo is... RIGHT!!! Another $100 for you Kevin. And you need a 6 or 7 to win. Anything higher than 7 and Nathan takes game 1. Lynn? picosong.com/fTwB/TOO MUCH! And the game goes to Nathan! picosong.com/3zeF/So Game 1 of this best 2 out of 3 match goes to Nathan, $950 for that 19, a total of $1,050 thus far. When we return, Nathan's going to try to beat the dealer, for a $2,500 cash bonus! We're just getting started, so please, stay tuned

It netted you $100 anyway Very good guess! That's how I felt when playing Joker's Wild and I got a Simpsons question right, and I didn't even have any choices either!

(applause) Well folks, we have now come to the point of our show where the game 1 winner, Nathan, will play Beat the Dealer. Nathan, you are about to play one hand of Blackjack against our lovely dealer Lynn. The remaining cards in the same deck we played game number one with are still in play. Lynn will begin dealing you cards to form your hand. Once you reach a score of twelve or higher, I will ask you if you wish to freeze or continue. If you continue and the next card you draw puts you over 21, you lose. If the next card you draw gives you exactly 21, then you will win the Beat the Dealer jackpot which tonight is worth… (clang) $2,500 in cash! (applause) If the jackpot is not won, we will add $500 to it for our next program. Once you freeze, Lynn will begin to draw cards to form her hand. Lynn must hit on any hand totalling 16 and below. Lynn must freeze on any hand totalling 17 and above. In the event you and Lynn should tie, you won't win the jackpot, but you will still receive one-thousand dollars. If however your hand does beat hers, you will win the full $2,500 jackpot! So here we go, Lynn, please deal up the first couple of cards for Nathan...

(groans from the audience) Yes, I know... Lynn, next card please... (more groans) Nathan, you have 13. You may freeze if you wish. If you take another card and go over 21, the game will be over and you will win nothing. What do you want to do? If you take another card, obviously you'd want an 8, or something less than an 8.

For what it's worth Nathan, I think if I were in your shoes, I probably would too. Lynn, let's deal him up an 8 for an instant win, shall we? Well, it's not an 8, but it is a 5 of doggy toes! Keeps you in the game with 18 Nathan. Do you wish to take another card or freeze right there?

Stopping right there on 18, a pretty good hand indeed. Now Lynn will begin dealing up cards for her hand, starting with... A six. That's none too good for the dealer. We want an Ace here, and that will give Nathan another $2,500 in cash! Lynn? A big Jack, giving her 16 now. If Lynn's next card is anything but a deuce, a3, a4 or a5 Nathan, you will win $2,500! Deal it up Lynn! picosong.com/fTwB/TOO MUCH! And Nathan, you just Beat the Dealer! picosong.com/3zeF/And now we've had 6 wins out of 7 playings of "Beat the Dealer" so far! If this keeps up, we're going to go the way of many Atlantic City casinos! Nathan congratulations, your total winnings tonight thus far, cash AND prizes included, $4,350! When we return, we'll have game #2, another nice prize up for grabs, plus an even nicer prize for our match winner, and a trip to the Gambit Board, for ALL CA$H!!! I'm very excited about that! Also a new added game for a new automobile. Lots more to come, so please stay with us!

Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): Some of the material for questions asked on "Gambit P.M." provided by the World Book Encyclopedia, with thousands of new revisions and the input of over 4,000 experts, and 25,000 images. And now, back with the second half of "Gambit P.M.", here's Bill McDee! (applause) Thank you ladies and gentlemen, thank you Frank. During the break, Nathan made a comment about how winning the Beat the Dealer game was a very "close call". That ties in nicely with this announcement. New, on CBS Daytime is the return of a personal favorite game show of mine, which had a much too brief life on CBS. It's the return of the game with close calls, narrow escapes, and a payoff of $250,000! It's "Whew!", with your host Dayo Kayode. So please be sure to watch it won't you? It's a fast-paced, fun game! Now, back to OUR fast-paced and fun game. Contestants, since the Any 21 Jackpot was not won during our last game, it grows by $250 per game until hit, so now, in addition to Any 21 winning you the game and $1,050, you'll also win the Any 21 Jackpot worth $1,250, and of course double that for a 2 card 21. Also the winner of this game will receive this nice prize, Frank? Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): It's a set of new golf clubs... Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): From Adams, it's the New Idea 12 piece full set of clubs, complete with bag. Everything you need for the course. Also included are 5 free golflessons with your local pro. One-thousand four-hundred fifty dollars! Okay Bill! Nathan currently leads 1 game to love, so Kevin, this is the time to even up the match. Still using the same deck of cards that we started with, Lynn, what's the first card up for grabs here in game number 2 this evening? A nice way to start! For a Queen players... TRUE or FALSE? Comic legand Soupy Sales’ real name was Marvin Lepowitz. Nathan? Nathan's answer - "False." False is correct! (applause) Milton Supman was his given name. Apparently Soupy decided to give it back. Another $100 in cash for you Nathan, plus control over that Queen. Are you keeping it or passing it?

I'm going to keep it, because even though that first card doesn't necessarily indicate a blackjack in my future, I think the next card will definitely decide it if I answered this next question correctly!

About the only time one would want to pass the Queen of Spades is if one was playing the game of "Hearts" Nathan, if your next card is an Ace, you will win your second match here on Gambit P.M. Next toss-up question for $100 and all important control over the next card in Lynn's deck... The San Francisco Giants have become somewhat of a mini-dynasty, both in the National League and in Major League Baseball overall, having won the World Series in the last three evenly numbered years of 2010, 2012 and 2014. But, which National League team is the last to win two CONSECUTIVE World Series titles? THE DODGERS THE BRAVES or THE REDS Kevin? Kevin's answer "The Reds". And that is... RIGHT! For $100! (applause) Have to go all the way back to 1975-76, when the original "Gambit" was still airing on CBS Daytime to a time when a National League team won back to back World Series titles. American League teams won it in 1977, 1978, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2013. The National League teams that have won it since the Reds back to back wins are: 1979 - Pirates, 1980 & 2008 - Phillies, 1981 & 1988 - Dodgers, 1982, 2006, 2011 - Cardinals, 1986 - Mets, 1990 - Reds, 1995 - Braves, 1997 & 2003 - Marlins, and in 2001 - Diamondbacks. Amazing that no N.L. team has won back to back championships in almost 40 years. Kevin, you're trying to win back to back championships, you control the next card. Do you wish to keep it for yourself, or pass it to Nathan?

Again, a most interesting Gambit, hence the name of our game. Indeed, if this next card is an Ace, Nathan takes the game, set and match... Lynn, let's see Nathan's next card... (gasps from the audience) Kevin, your instincts were right. Nathan you have 15. If you continue, you may not freeze again until you receive another card, and that card must either keep you in the lead, or put you in the lead. Do you wish to freeze or continue Nathan?

Very well. Next $100 toss-up question... ALEXANDER HAMILTON JAMES A. GARFIELD or BOTH Likenesses featured on American paper currency. Kevin? Kevin's answer - "Alexander Hamilton" And that is... Correct! For $100... (applause) Plus control over the fate of this next card. Are you going to keep it or pass it Kevin?

If it's more than a 6, we'll have a tied up match. If it's exactly a 6, Nathan will win his second match. If it's less than a 6, Nathan will have a decision to make... Lynn... (audience) - "Whoa!!!!!!" That passed card now gives you 17 Nathan. Is that enough? Do you wish to freeze or continue playing?

I know you had alluded to that earlier, but I always like to make it official Kevin, you need a score of 18, 19, 20 or 21 to tie up the match. One incorrect answer, and Nathan will win his second match and go to the Gambit Board. MORE THAN 200 EXACTLY 200 or LESS THAN 200 What is the number of squares on a standard regulation Scrabble game board? Kevin's answer "More than 200". And that is... Correct! $100 more for you and this card. Lynn? A 10. You need an 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King or Ace to win this game. Next question... 32 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT or 32 DEGREES CELCIUS Which temperature is warmer? Kevin's answer - "32 Degrees Celcius". And that is... Right again! (applause) Up to $800 now. Lynn, is this next card a winner for Kevin? Yes it is!! picosong.com/3zeF/So another $1,000 for that 20, as we pay $50 per point to the winner. Kevin $1,800 total so far for you tonight. For the runner up $25 per point, so another $425 for you Nathan, bringing you up to $4875. Actually we will need to amend Kevin's total, as he also won the golf clubs. So $3,250 cash and prizes so far tonight for Kevin, $4,875 cash and prizes for Nathan. Now, onto the rubber game of this match. Lynn has cleared the board. The winner of this next game will win the match, and a really nice prize, which we will hear about after this game. Another $250 into the Any 21 Jackpot, so now it is worth... (CLANG) One-thousand five-hundred dollars. Lynn will deal out a 10 to each player to start with for this rubber game. And now, what's the first card up for grabs? Oh wow, a big Jack! Somebody will have a score of 20 momentarily! Question for the Jack... GUMDROP FOREST 100 ACRE WOOD or HONEY LAND Which serves as home to Winnie the Pooh and his friends? Nathan? Nathan's answer "100 Acre Wood". And that is right! (applause) $100 more for you Nathan. Do you want the Jack?

Post by billmcdee on Jan 17, 2015 21:04:19 GMT -5
Absolutely you may freeze. I expected you would with a 20 This of course now means that Kevin HAS to get 21 to retain his championship crown. And to do so, Kevin you will need correct answers to keep earning cards. So here we go... COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE… 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, _ _ Kevin's answer - "49". And 49 is... Correct! (applause) Lynn, next card please... TWENTY-ONE!!!!!!! (audience screams in disbelief) picosong.com/4U4j/WOW! Talk about an unexpected event there! Down one game to none, tied up the match. Down 20 to 10, with only a 21 to give you a victory, not only do you get that Kevin, but you did so with just the Ace, so $1,050 for the game itself, plus $3,000 as we pay double the Any 21 Jackpot, $7,400 cash and prizes, PLUS you also just won THIS prize for winning the match, Frank? Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): For winning tonight's match, you have just won an outdoor dining table. Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): Polywood presents its Park Collection, featuring octagonal table with attached benches, available in black, white, tan or mahogany. $2,100! (applause) So far Kevin, tonight, a total of $9,500 in cash and prizes. Back to you in a moment. Well Nathan, you played 3 really sensational games, plus you did beat the dealer earlier. $500 for this game as we pay $25 per point for the runner up, $5,475 cash and prizes today, but when we add that to your previous winnings, you're hardly leaving here as a "runner up". $33,625 in cash and prizes for you Nathan Diniz! Congratulations and thank you for being a fine champion! (applause) Another fine champion here in Kevin, winning his second consecutive match. Again a come from behind type victory. So far Kevin, in cash and prizes, your total is... $28,500!!! (cheering & applause) We're going to take a time out, get a fresh deck of cards, and have our inaugural all cash Gambit Board, plus a brand new exciting car game as well, when we return!
