Let's face the dragon on another edition of Tic Tac Dough. Greg Palmer was my champion, but due to his suspension, I am going to be crowning a new champion. As usual, we will have two games during this episode. Who would like to try their luck with the dragon?
(Note: The last two people to play were Lenny Jackson and David Barkow. I ask that you both sit this episode out before trying again.)

Since I'm also doing the other tic-tac-toe based game show as a celebrity, I will try this one as a contestant.

V.O: You're watching CBS.
Rich: From Television City in Hollywood, it's time for the game of strategy, knowledge and fun. It's Tic Tac Dough!
And now, here's the host of our show, Frank Sartori!
Me: Thank you Rich Fields! Thank you ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to another edition of Tic Tac Dough. So glad you could tune in tonight. We've got a great show lined up for you, along with two lovely contestants. Rich, tell us who is here to play!
Rich: First, he is an order entry operator from Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania: Bill McDee!
And he is a former Tic Tac Dough champion from East LA, Alabama: James Greek!
Me: Thanks Rich. Now Bill, it says here that you enjoy watching your collection of TV shows from the 1950s through the 1990s. Are there any particular ones you enjoy the most?

Hello Frank! Oh yes, depends on my mood I suppose. It's a modest list, but in addition to "The American Revolution", "The Ultimate Guide to the Presidents", and various Major League Baseball and National Football League DVDs, my sit-com list includes:
The first four seasons of The Mary Tyler Moore Show All three seasons of Gilligan's Island All nine seasons of All in the Family The Honeymooners, both the "Classic 39" that aired on CBS as well as a 15 disc set of their "lost" episodes" I Love Lucy, all six seasons... The first 5 seasons of The Big Bang Theory The complete set of "Adam-12" the police series and "Emergency!" Batman 1966, all 3 seasons, But best of all, I have all 11 seasons of M*A*S*H on DVD, and the nice thing about DVDs, no commercials and nothing edited out of any program either!

I agree 100%. Out of the list you mentioned, I also enjoy The Honeymooners and All in the Family, as well as Lucy. But we're not here to discuss tv shows! (chuckles) But if we have a TV category, it might be up your alley. Anyways, good luck Bill. Your opponent tonight is James Greek. He is a former champion from our program who won 12 games in a row. James, we've all seen your performance. Do you think you can earn some redemption tonight?

As I say on another program, it all depends on the categories, as well as your knowledge of them. We wish you nothing but the best of luck. And good luck to the both of you. Let's not waste anymore time and get right to our first game. Here are the categories.
We have The Comics, Scrambled Words, Opponent's Choice, Hitchcock, Islands, Early Civilizations, the Jump In Category, the $1,000 Question and Classical Music. For the Opponent's Choice category, your opponent chooses between two categories. Get the question correct and you get the box. If you're wrong, your opponent will get the opportunity to answer. For the Jump In Category, I will ask you a question and the contestant to buzz in with the closest buzzcode gets the box. If you are wrong, your opponent will get a chance to answer. For the $1,000 Question, get the question correct and we add $1,000 to the pot. With all of that out of the way, we start with the contestant in the X position which is Bill. Where would you like to start?

I'm torn here, as James is a 12 time prior champion...
I'll go for broke and try the harder center box, Islands, please.

Starting with Islands in the center. Remember that this is a 2-part question. You will have some extra time to think about it. Here is your 2-part question under Islands. First Bill,
The country of New Zealand consists of 2 islands. Name one of the two. That's your first one. Your second one is,
What is the name of the large island that is off the East Coast of southern Africa? Those are your two questions. Here's your extra time to think about it.
Alright Bill. Which one would you like to answer first?

I'll try the second half first...
Is it Madagascar?

Madagascar is correct. Now for the center box and $300,
The country of New Zealand consists of 2 islands. Name one of the two.

New Guinea? (shaking my head uncertain)

No I'm sorry. That is incorrect.
The correct answer we were looking for was North Island or South Island. So no box there. No money in the pot. Let's shuffle.
James, it's your selection.

Here's the interesting situation. This will remain a two-part question. However, the contestant who buzzes in with the closest buzzcode will have to answer both questions. If you are wrong, your opponent has a change to steal. As usual, you both will have extra time to think about it. Here comes the two-part question under the Jump In Category. First players,
Which Disney film marked Donald Duck's debut? That's the first one. Your second one is,
What company owns both the Hot Wheels and Matchbox brands? Those are your two questions. Here is your extra time to think about it.
Okay gentlemen. You have 24 hours to PM me a buzzcode from 1-100.

The second part...
Matchbox and Hot Wheels owned by Mattel?

Mattel is correct. Now for the center box and $300,
Which Disney film marked Donald Duck's debut?

Wild guess, Steamboat Willie?

Good guess, but that is incorrect.
Now James, you can steal the box and add $300 to the pot if you know the answer.

No I'm sorry. That is incorrect.
The correct answer we were looking for was The Wise Little Hen.
And that is Donald Duck. Incidentally, we want to wish Donald Duck a very happy 85th birthday. Thanks for making us laugh throughout the years. Now back to business. Nobody earns the box. The pot is still empty. Let's shuffle.
Bill, we come back to you.

Maybe the third time will be the charm. Once again, this is a two-part question. Get both of them right, we add $1,000 to the pot. Here is your two-part question.
What landlocked European country remained neutral in both World War I and World War II? That's your first one. Your second one is,
In the TV show "The Simpsons", in which foreign country did the Simpsons appear on a game show? Those are your two questions. Here is your extra time to think about it.
Alright Bill. Which one would you like to answer first?

Let me answer the first question please.
I believe the answer to that one was Switzerland.

Switzerland is correct. Now for the center box and $1,000,
In the TV show "The Simpsons", in which foreign country did the Simpsons appear on a game show?

Oh...I'm ashamed to admit this I've never watched a single episode of "The Simpsons" in 30 years.
Wild guess again.....France?
