Staff announcer: Call it a day with Kimmel -- tonight after ABC 8 News at 10.
(lights in studio gradually are turned on)
(audience cheers) Helloooo, everybody, Doug Morris is my name. Crag's the name of the game. We're starting our season off with Antonio Gray and Bryan Law. Antonio's our three-time champ with $181,800 in cash. Fellas, we've got loads of money to give away. So let's start it with the first numbers game of a new match. (ding)And it commences with a single digit question. Single digit question: In hockey, a regulation NHL game lasts how many periods? 19 gameshowfan1986 30 Bryan 84 randomizer.org (Bryan buzzes in)Bryan?

Are there 3 periods in a regulation NHL game? (ding; audience applause)Yes indeed. Bryan, with that correct answer, you've earned up to two rolls of our Crag dice -- to try to score as many points as you can. These are the different ways you can score lots of points. There are four different straights in the game of Crag worth 20 points each. The 1-2-3 make up a low straight; 4-5-6 a high straight; 1-3-5 an odd straight and 2-4-6 an even straight. It doesn't matter how the numbers appear on the board. If you roll three of the same number, that's a triple for 25 points. And, remember, 13 *is* lucky in Crag. If you roll different numbers that total 13, I'll double the sum for 26 points. *However* -- if you have a pair of numbers plus an odd number that total 13, that's a Crag for 50 points. (audience cheers)(rolling sfx)The dice are now rolling, Bryan. We lock them into your buzzer one at a time.
[Bryan, please "stop the dice" with three letters from A to F inclusive. You may repeat letters if you think that helps.]

After Round 1: gameshowfan1986 BryanTaking the points and the early lead. Remember, it takes 100 points to win a game and $2500; runner-up scores $500. Score $5000 and you win the match and a try at the Super Crag for $1,000,000. (audience cheers) Oh, and lest we forget, you'll score $1000 if you roll the first Crag of the match. (Frasier's theme plays)Woah -- hear that music already? Time for an early round, believe it or not, of Scrambled Eggs. (audience cheers) We usually save this until Round 5 -- but my writers were like -- hey -- new season -- let's try something new. (scattered laughter) So we roll merrily along with this. Scrambled Eggs: With the eggs, we've scrambled the title of a quiz show -- which has aired for nearly a decade in the U.K. and had a compartively short run here in the U.S. How many letters in the show's title are in their correct positions? Just the one letter. Is he right? (ding; audience applause)Yes. "The Chase" is the actual title of the show. And if you lose to one chaser in particular, you might really experience -- teh aches. (scattered laughter from crowd) (rolling sfx)Dice roll again for you, Bryan.

(ding)Stop on a 4. (ding)Stop on a 1. (ding)And stop on a 5. Well, that's not a combination worth 20 or more. So, Bryan, you may stop here and take the sum in points -- 10, in this case -- or reroll.

(scattered groans and woahs) (freeze sfx) Wanting to reroll just the 5 -- so we freeze the 2 and 4. Perhaps he's got a feeling. Let's reroll the 5. (rolling sfx)There it goes. (ding) And it stops on a 3. Sequential order 2-3-4 -- but not an officially recognized straight in Crag. After Round 3: gameshowfan1986 BryanAntonio's on the board with 9 points. Now we play a missing digit question. Longtime viewers know what these are about. For first-timers, we'll play a sample question. (ding)Above the Crag dice, we have the number of answers on the Double Jeopardy! board on the standard version of the quiz show "Jeopardy!" All you have to do is tell us the missing digit in the number. And the missing digit here is... (ding)...3 -- and as we trust you're aware by now, the show's longtime quizmaster, Alex Trebek, is fighting stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I know you'll join me in praying and hoping for the best. (audience applause)Alright, back to business with our numeric quiz and this question. Missing digit question: Rakeem Christmas played college basketball at Syracuse. I'll show you his apt jersey number -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)24 gameshowfan1986 30 Bryan 02 randomizer.org(Antonio buzzes in)Antonio?

(ding)Stop on a 1. (ding) (scattered cheers) Stop on a 6. (dings; audience cheers)Stop on another 6 for a Crag! (Doug walks over to Antonio's podium) First Crag of the day, Antonio. That means the rich just got richer by... (crowd and Doug count money in unison) Doug: 100... Crowd: One... (ding)Doug: 200... Crowd: Two... (ding)Doug: 300... Crowd: Three... (ding)Doug: 400... Crowd: Four... (ding)Doug: 500... Crowd: Five... (ding)Doug: 600... Crowd: Six... (ding)Doug: 700... Crowd: Seven... (ding)Doug: 800... Crowd: Eight... (ding)Doug: 900... Crowd: Nine... (ding)Doug: $1000! (dings; audience cheers)(Doug returns to his podium) Just like that, the lead changes hands. Antonio needs another Crag to win the game. Bryan, a straight, triple or non-Crag 13 makes this a close game; Crag for you, of course, gives you the lead back. Missing digit question: I'll show you the year Ivan Pavlov won the Nobel Prize for Medicine – and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)32 gameshowfan1986 73 Bryan 46 randomizer.org (Antonio buzzes in)Antonio?
