The Richard Karn era comes to an end with this episode. On the last show, the Longs scored an upset win, denying the previous champions a chance to break the still-standing record of $51,784; they followed that with a Fast Money win and $20,000 of their own.

If the game is not completed by the time school begins for me, Mark Liotta has elected to take my place. This way the game can continue. This worked out well; the show will go on uninterrupted, and so I will prompt Mark for a response after Monday when Frank's turn comes up.
