I'm Doug Morris and welcome to The $40,000 Chain Reaction. We're welcoming back two players today -- because late in the main game of the last show, we made some errors in judging that could've affected gameplay. So, please make welcome again Nels Snesrud, our challenger -- and our champion, Frank Sartori. (audience cheers) Nels won $5000 on the last show -- including bonus money from Round 2. Frank managed to complete a $40,000 chain -- and has $52,790 in total cash winnings. (audience cheers) (board opens as part of the theme plays) You both know how to play -- so let's set up our first chain of the rematch. This Round 1 chain starts with...              (ding)...TRASH and it ends with CHAT. Five links are in between. Each link contains at least one word -- possibly more. Each link is worth $250 -- with an additional $250 going to the player who completes the chain. The first player to score $5000 wins this rematch -- and competes for $40,000 in our final round.
