[Note from Doug: James passed -- so...] (Evan buzzes in) Evan? Evan: Stackhouse? (dings; audience applause) Yes -- Jerry Stackhouse. He had a journeyman's career playing for eight different teams. He's part of the coaching staff with the Memphis Grizzlies. Evan, please hop back into the box. Javicia's handing you the dice; thanks for that. Evan -- you -- are on a roll. (Evan rolls)(buzz) (audience groans) Doubles! Darn. Sorry about that -- but you don't get anything for a pair. Audience: Not in this game! Players are already trading places. James, you've got the next roll... ...but first, please take one free letter.

James wants to roll again. (James rolls)(buzz) (audience groans) Ah! Texas sunflowers. Sorry, James, you don't get anything for a pair. Audience: Not in this game! Once again, our players are trading places. Evan, you're back in charge. Before you roll, please take a free letter.

(Violett touches screen) First letter in the middle row is a W. Evan, you may guess the middle row's clue -- or roll again.

All right, avoid those doubles. (Evan rolls)And our first non-double of the round -- a 1 and a 3... ...or a 4. The ones are all gone -- but you may still take the 3 or 4.

(Violett touches screen) You get an A for that effort. Evan, you may guess the top row's clue -- or take the final roll of this round.

Last roll of the round coming up... (Evan rolls)...and it's a 2 and a 4 -- or a 6. Fours are gone. You may take the last 6 that's on the board -- or the 2 from the top or the 2 from the middle.

(Violett touches screen) We end the round with an O. Evan, you may guess the top row's clue. If you're wrong or want to bypass a guess, we'll play a new name game.

No worries. No need to be sorry. I do need you to head back to your buzzer, Evan, because it's time for another name game. James is over there ready to pounce on this. So here's the next name game. (FF reveal sfx)Nine letters in this answer -- to this question. Who got on a roll -- when he wrote and directed the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"? (ding)
(Evan and James, please PM me your answer and a buzz code from 1-100.)

63 Twentington 76 jman8606 50 random.org (Evan buzzes in) Evan? Evan: Spielberg. (dings; audience cheers)Steven Spielberg -- and what a roll he's been on long since then. Evan, as you step in the box -- thanks again, Javicia, for handing him the dice -- a note that we're not *quite* at play-or-pass mode yet. When at least one roll beyond doubles cannot be played, players, you'll have the option to roll the dice or pass them to your opponent. More when we cross that bridge. Evan, 'til then or a double, you -- are on a roll. (Evan rolls)And this definitely works -- a 2 and a 3... ...or a 5.

(Violett touches screen)There's an I... ...and an L -- and -- yes, Virginia, there is play-or-pass mode. Players, at least one roll beyond doubles cannot be played. So if you have a feeling you're going to throw numbers and a sum that isn't makeable, you may pass the dice. Numbers and a sum that won't work will be treated as if they were doubles -- meaning your opponent is suddenly in control and takes a free letter. Evan, with that, you may guess the middle row's clue, roll the dice -- or pass them to James.

Gonna chance it. (Evan rolls) Evan, the chance pays off with a 3 and a 6 -- or a 9. The threes are gone and blocked -- but you may take the 6 -- or a 9.

Not going to chance it this time. Players, please trade places. James, you're back in. Let's see what happens. (James rolls) (buzz) (audience groans) Oh, snake eyes. Sorry -- but you don't get anything for a pair. Audience: Not in this game. Players, please trade places again. Evan, your premonition results in a free letter.
