I did a few episodes of this at BigJon's, and now I'll be doing it here. I need two players, so if you'd like to play, sign up here.

All right, we have our players, so let's get started. All deadlines are 48 hours and here we go. (cue 1987 HR theme) Rich: And now, a game of high stakes! Where every decision is a gamble. And every move could be your last. High Rollers! And here's the man with all the action, Mark Liotta! (I come out to a tremendous applause from the audience) Me: Thank you! Thank you very much, Rich Fields. (Theme ends) Welcome everybody to High Rollers. This is the game of skill, strategy and those unpredictable dice. Some nice cash and prizes can be won as well, and it can be won by the two players we have today. Rich, will you introduce them to us please? Rich: I certainly will. Player 1 is an accountant from Long Island who enjoys game shows and writing fan fiction, Kevin Kolsen. And Player 2 is a courtesy clerk from Council Bluffs, Iowa, Matt Riggenberg. Me: Gentlemen, I'd like to welcome you both to High Rollers. Now Kevin, I'm just curious. What exactly does an accountant do?

At this time of the year, we're getting ready for tax season where we file taxes for individuals and corporations. From January until mid-April, our clients send in their tax information, such as W-2's and bank statements and we go over each of their records personally. We then use online software to e-file their taxes with the IRS and each of their appropriate states. Throughout the year, we also do payroll and sales tax returns for corporations.

Sounds like you're quite busy that first third of the year. All right guys, let's get to our match. Now, the object of the game is to eliminate as many numbers as possible from our game board. You can eliminate the numbers any way you want, as long as the combination adds up to the number that you roll. If at any time, though, you roll a number that cannot be removed from the board with any combinations, the other player wins the game. The first player to win two games wins the match, $1,000 in cash and the right to play the Big Numbers game for $25,000. Now then, let's get some prizes up there. Rich, what do we have in column one? Rich: It's an elegant Christmas tree. Make the season bright with this spectacular 15' x 106" Cashmere Pine Dura-Lit Christmas tree with 3,850 clear white lights. You'll love how compactly this 15 inch tree folds down without taking up a lot of storage space and you're saving a tree year after year. Comes complete with sturdy stand. Me: And wouldn't you know it, Christmas is right around the corner. So I think that's a fine prize for column one. Now, that prize is worth $4,400 but we have an even nicer prize in column two, don't we Rich? Rich: Indeed we do. It's a trip to Paris, France! You'll fly from Los Angeles to Paris for a six night stay at a deluxe hotel in downtown Paris. You'll also see sights such as the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. Me: Now, that prize carries a value of $8,345 on it. Now, in column three, we have something that we call a Mystery prize. It's called that because our players do not know what that prize is. In fact, they will only get to find out about that prize if they win it. I will tell you, though, that the mystery prize is worth $6,000. That makes the total value of the board worth $18,745. Very nice if I do say so myself. Now then, let's load up the board and find out what the hot column is for our first game.
3 6 8 2 7 1 5 9 4 And the hot column is column one. Therefore, one of you could walk away with a Christmas tree if you roll a ten. However, you can't get control of the dice until you win a toss up question. Here's the first question right now. The game show Bumper Stumpers ran from 1987 to 1990. Who was that show's host?

You're right, and you get first crack at the dice Matt. Since we're starting a new game, all rolls are good right now. So go ahead and roll those dice, Matt. (Matt and Kevin, to roll the dice, hit the black "reply" button and hit the dice icon twice. Then hit the "create post" button to determine the outcome of your roll)

And wouldn't you know it, Matt gets a double right out of the gate! (cue doubles sfx) Matt, because you rolled a double, you are entitled to an insurance marker. (I hand Matt an insurance marker) That little device will get you out of trouble should you make a bad roll. Now Matt, you rolled a six. How do you want to get rid of it?

He wants to get rid of the 5 and the 1, so let's take those off the board please.
3 6 8 2 7 X X 9 4
And here's the next question for both of you. In the holiday Christmas special Frosty The Snowman, what was the name of the little girl who placed the hat on Frosty's head to bring him to life?

He wants to get rid of the 3 and the 4, so let's do just that.
X 6 8 2 7 X X 9 X
Five numbers remaining on the board as we go to our next question. Now this next one's a new type of question here on High Rollers. It's a Who Am I? question. For this one, I'll give you clues about a famous person, and you must try to identify the person based on the clues I'm giving out. Pay close attention as I read this out. I was born on August 15, 1769. I was a French military and political leader who rose to prominence during the latter stages of the French Revolution and its associated wars. I won the large majority of my battles before finally suffering defeat in 1815. Who am I?

You're right. Now Kevin, you have a decision to make. As you can see, we now have a few bad rolls up there. The bad rolls are 3,4,5 and 12. You can roll the dice yourself or you can pas them to Matt, keeping in mind that Matt has an insurance marker. What do you want to do, Kevin?

It's a double! (cue doubles sfx; I hand Kevin an insurance marker) You now have an insurance marker, Kevin. As for the 2, there's only one way to get rid of it which is the 2 itself.
X 6 8 X 7 X X 9 X
You have also cleared column one, which means that tree will be yours if you win this game. Next question coming up right now, and it's another Who am I? question. Pay attention as I give you the clues. I was born in 1936. I developed puppets during my high school years and then founded my production company in 1958. I became more popular during the 1970s when I played various roles on the program Sesame Street. On that program, I played the parts of Ernie, Guy Smiley and various other characters. At the same time, I also performed the role of Kermit The Frog on that same program as well as on The Muppet Show. I continued playing the roles of Ernie and Kermit until my death in 1990. Who am I?

Jim Henson is right. Now Kevin, take a look at the remaining numbers on the board.

We're down to only four good rolls, which are 6,7,8 and 9. Do you want to roll the dice or pass them to Matt? Remember that you have an insurance marker if that influences your decision at all.
