This episode will kick off the current era of Family Feud, as well as the (thankfully) short-lived Louie Anderson era. While a lot of us can agree that he is easily the worst host ever, at least the presentation itself was not too bad.
Here are the changes on tap:
This is now a one-and-done show, with no returning champions.
The top prize for winning Fast Money is once again $10,000.
The family who wins a face-off will once again have the option to pass the question.
Unlike other versions of the show, this one will not have a winning goal for Fast Money. However, there's still the possibility that one of the teams will reach 300 points anyway.
The second and third rounds are now in the same segment.
The Double round is eliminated; as a result, we will play three Singles and a Triple.
The team that plays the Triple round will be allowed only one strike before the other team gets a chance to steal.
The board will display a maximum of eight answers in the Single rounds, and six in the Triple round.
Music will now play when a round is won, and returning from commercials. Also, there are brand-new cues for the series.
I need six players to party like it's 1999 (because it is!). Meanwhile, let's see the debut episode for the Anderson era:

And here's the sign-in sheet, which will be updated until all six players have signed up:
TEAM A 1. Sergio (romnserg) 2. Anthony (geniusinmath) 3. Matt (mringgenberg)
TEAM B 1. Kevin (koopakid17) 2. Michael (larsonfan1) 3. Nels (nelson17)

Wow! So in less than 24 hours, all six spots have been filled...that's a first. So here we go... (1999 FF Intro) ERIN HARRIS: Today on Family Feud: From Novelda, Alicante, they're our international guests; meet the Rodriguez family!
And from Long Island, New York, they don't mean to be boasting, but they're the legendary Kolsens!(1999 FF Theme) You're about to see these two teams battle it out for $10,000 in cash, because it's time to play the Family Feud! Now here's the star of our show, Bill Skinner! Thanks, Erin! This is it; we're now playing Family Feud in 1999. Well, what do you say we get started right away? Sergio and Kevin, let's play the Feud! (1999 FF Face-Off Cue) Good luck to both of you, and here we go with the first question. We surveyed 100 people, and the top eight answers are on the board; try to find the most popular answer. Name someone or something famous that is associated with the state of Minnesota.

I'll take that as your decision to play, so we'll go to Anthony. Can you think of someone or something famous that is associated with the state of Minnesota?

I have no choice but, let's go for another: St. Paul. When I've decided to go for it, I've mistakenly said St. Paul. Let's go for St. Paul.

How about their nickname? The North Star State.
|
|
|
Post by Bill Skinner on Aug 24, 2018 8:41:19 GMT -5
That could be up there; let's see if it is. Show me the North Star State! (strike buzzer) That's your second strike, and Matt, it's up to you to keep the round going for your team. If you don't get another answer on the board, then the Kolsens will go for the steal.

If it's up there, you get to keep playing; if not, they'll go for the steal. Little House on the Prairie, is it up there? (strike buzzer) That's your third strike. (walks to Kolsen side of stage) Kolsens, what are you going with?
