(shot of Marc) Marc: First off, my children are in college. I'm 66. Second, if my wife did spend all the time with our grandchildren, I'd spend all my time with Liza Koshy.

That's great to hear, Marc. And thank you all, gentlemen, for being a part of the poll. Please return to your seats. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Evan, you still have a 6 as your base card. Do you want to play on that card or change it?

Play it safe and freeze it.

[CHEERS, APPLAUSE]And we'll move Evan's freeze bar as he's two away from winning round 1... our champ David needs only one. Next question coming right up... *grabs card* David... we've asked 100 sensitive viewers-- Have you ever turned off the TV because the program you're watching is just too racy? How many of them say they've turned off the TV due to a program's racy content?

TV has gotten a bit racy these days, so I will say it is a high number, 77.

[DING]77 out of 100 say they've turned off the TV due to a program's racy content. What do you think of that answer, Evan... higher or lower?
|
|
|
Post by Twentington on Aug 11, 2018 20:22:44 GMT -5
I think it'd be a fairly high number, TV certainly is a far different animal than it was even 5 years ago. That said, I don't think it would be *that* high, so I'm gonna go ahead and call lower.

|
|
Post by tmann3x on Aug 12, 2018 11:03:08 GMT -5
[DING]If I were a betting man, I would say it's a tad bit higher. We'll find out about the answer. David says 77 while Evan says it's lower... The actual number of sensitive viewers say they've turned off the TV due to a program's racy content is-- [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]61. Evan's right... it is lower. You have a 7 as your base card, Evan. Do you want to play on that middle card or change it?

PLEASE change it.

Big change for Evan. Your 7 is now... ...a 10.

If it's higher, you win the first round of the match. Higher than a 5...? Yes! [WINNING BELL SOUNDS, WIN CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And the challenger wins game 1 and $500. While the models discard the cards and replace with a new set, we'll pause for a commercial break. We'll begin round 2 of Card Sharks right after we do a little business for North America. Stick around... we'll be right back. [COMMERCIAL CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*fade to commercial* =====================================================================================================

*fade to promo* [CLOSING CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE][MORE CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Marc Summers: Closed Captioning sponsored today by the following--============================================================================= *back to studio* [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]
Welcome back to Card Sharks. This is our civilian finale of our show. And if you still want more of Card Sharks? Have no fear. Mark Liotta is hosting the nighttime version on your select local station. Be sure to check your interactive program guide for date and time in your neighborhood.
During the commercial break, our models Rachel and Amber have placed a new set of five cards for both players. Round 2 now begins with our first question. *grabs card* Evan... we've asked 100 bachelors-- When you get married, will you expect your wife to work? How many of them say they will expect their wives to work?

See, this is another one where the times are changing. If we were playing 1950s Card Sharks, I'd go very low. But we're getting to a point nowadays where often, both the husband and wife are working, so that changes up things a bit.
I'm going to say 55 - more of them than not.

[DING]55 out of 100 say they will expect their wives to work after they get married. What do you think, Dave... higher or lower?

I think it will be higher because they want two sources of income.

[DING]And the actual number of bachelors say they will expect their wives to work after they get married is-- [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]64. The champ is right... it is higher. And David begins round 2 with is base card... ...a Jack.
