Possible Millionaire Fastest Finger Change

Having seen how the three Fastest Finger First rounds have gone so far on Millionaire, I've noticed it ends up being more than a little unfair to the people who aren't constantly checking the forum or happen not to be online at the time the question goes up.  For that reason, I'm toying with implementing one change to the round that would make it a bit fairer:

-When you submit your answer, you also submit a buzzcode 1-100.  When everybody's in, we generate a buzzcode - the player with a correct answer and the closest buzzcode to the generated code makes it into the Hot Seat.  Ties would be resolved by a second Fastest Finger First.


Thoughts on this?  Questions?  Other suggestions?  I want to hear what you all have to say on this.

No, just the closest.  If we add "without going over," then we're all gonna be in trouble if the code ends up being 1 or 2.

I think that's more than fair of you Evan.

Personally I was fine with it the way it was.  Fastest finger is about timing.  But then you do have to consider different schedules, time zones and such too.

Seems like buzz codes might prove a more fair system at that, but either way you do it is fine by me.

I'm very much enjoying it, very well done!

Thanks for the feedback, everybody! It’s not a given yet what the result will be, but it looks pretty likely we’ll be adding buzzcodes in for next episode.
