Eh-oh, everybody. Sergio Roman here.
I think some of you might be sleeping, or working, or styding or maybe watching the Prince Harry & Meghan Markle's Royal Wedding. However: I've got breaking news: The Rules of "Cardiators" are finally here!
As you know, "Cardiators" is a game show based on the Duel minigame that appears in the game Mario Party 8. It's name is a portmanteau of "card" and "gladiators". Here's a link about that minigame on mariowiki.com
Here's how it works:
This game combines general knowledge, speed, strategy, skill and luck, which sees six contestants trying to answer questions, earn cards and build up their bank. If they choose wisely the best cards, they have the chance to win up to $2,500,000. But only two of them will compete for all that cash at the end of the show. Will they become loyal to each other and share the money? Will one attempt to betray the other and take all? Or will both betray each other and walk away empty-handed, falling victim to greed?
The gameplay consists of: Main Game (Four "Normal" rounds and one "Double-Up" Round) and End Game (A Bonus Round and a Final Dilemma Round).
Main Game
Rounds 1-4. "Normal" Rounds: The contestants earn a free card on their hand and $7,500 in their bank to start with, but they can have a maximum of 8 cards in each round. In order to do that, contestants have to buzzing-in with the correct answer. But, if someone buzzes-in with the wrong answer, that person will be locked out and cannot answer the next question.
In Round 1 there's 3 minutes of rapid-fire general knowledge questions and every round thereafter (except Round 5) is reduced by 15 seconds as players are eliminated. The round will end if time runs out or someone collects the maximum of 8 cards, by answering correctly seven questions. Whoever gave the most correct answers will receive a prize that's theirs to keep regardless of their outcome. If there's a tie, the prize will be won by the one with the fewest wrong answers. If still tied, the prize will be rewarded for the one who buzzed-in their first correct answer faster than the other.
When the allotted time for every round finishes and if the host is in the middle of asking a question, or has asked a question but the contestant has yet to answer, the question is thrown out. Occasionally, the host will give the correct answer whether the contestant is able to answer the question correctly or not.
Here's how it works:
The first four rounds, there's a board with 60 cards, each card cointains money values and other effects (I'll explain that below). When it's time to face the board, the contestants have to choose their cards secretly. After that, they will reveal their selections. If any card is chosen by multiple contestants, a Non-Multiple Toss Up Questiob on the buzzer will be asked to see who keeps it. To do that they must buzz-in with the correct answer, but if someone gives the with the wrong answer, their opponent will answer instead. But if he/she answers incorrectly or fails to answer, another question is asked. If after three tie-break questions, no one gave the correct answer, the tied contestants have to use some buzzcodes from 1-100 to see who keeps it. To do that, one of them must get closer to the magic number, while the other contestant/contestants require to select again from the unchosen cards.
Further questions and/or buzzcodes are needed until every single contestant has chosen different cards, at which point they are prepared to reveal them and win some money! To make things fair, the card dealing will start with the first player who buzzed-in with the correct answer and ending with the last one. Any time a card is in play, every player has to risk their winnings, until all their cards have been played. They can get a card with cash on it (51 cards ranging from $0 to $25,000; In this case that will be added to their score) or a "Surprise" effect (9 of these cards have special effects, only one of these card will make, the remaining card will break our contestants).
These are the values for each card in Rounds 1-4:
The maximum potential payoff a player can win in the first four rounds is $250,000. In order for that to happen, the seven cards with five highest amounts cards must be banked ($7,500 + ($25,000x1) + ($20,000x1) + ($17,500x1) + ($15,000x2) + ($12,500x2) = $125,000) and that money must be doubled ($125,000x2=$250,000).
But, that's not over! Because when the cards are in play and someone picks the "Double" card, that contestant will double their score by grabbing a certain equal amount from each opponent (For instance, if I've got $25,000, and pick the "Double" card. My score will be doubled to $50,000. Therefore i'll receive the $25,000 from the other contestants depending on how many contestants remain in play); But picking any of the "Divide" cards, your winnings will be divided by either two, five or ten, but they can also lose everything! (For instance, if I've got $10,000, and pick the "Divide by 2" card, i'll go down to $5,000; If i do the same but with the "Divide by 5" card, my score will go down to $2,000; If this happens with the "Divide by 10", my winnings will be reduced to $1,000. But If I've pick the "Bankrupt" card; OUCH! I'll go down to zero!) In any case, the money lost by a contestant through any "Divide" card or "Bankrupt" card will be split equally between the other players.
At the end of each round, any winnings will be rounded to the nearest $100. And whoever's the lowest-scoring contestant is eliminated from the game and forfeits all their money, but is later given a chance to win money in the Bonus Round.
Round 5. The "Double-Up" Round: In this round, which is the last one before the Final Game, the two survivng players become "Finalists" and as always, they have another free card on their hand, but they start with $15,000. In addition, they have 120 seconds (2 minutes) to answer many questions as possible With the difference of someone who buzzes-in with the wrong answer, that person will NOT be locked out (Just to make things fair and better). But their values which they will receive from their cards will be doubled (From $0 to $50,000)
These are the values for each card in Rounds 5:
The maximum potential payoff a contestant can win in the fifth round is $500,000. In order for that to happen, the seven cards with five highest amounts cards must be banked ($15,000 + ($50,000x1) + ($40,000x1) + ($35,000x1) + ($30,000x2) + ($25,000x2) = $250,000) and that money must be doubled ($250,000x2=$500,000).
But there's something that doesn't change on the board and it's has the same effects from the previous rounds is the "Surprise" effects. Both finalists can still double their money, divide their winnings by two, five or ten or losing everything! That means the amount won by the "Double" will be taken away from their opponent's score or the amount lost by the "Divide" will be grabbed by the other contestant.
At the end of Round 5, the contestant who had the most money in their "Personal Bank" will receive a luxury holiday (That's theirs to keep no matter what happens) and whatever's in that "Personal Bank", that will be the value at stake for the Bonus Round.
End Game
Bonus Round: Our "Finalists" will have to work together to build up as much cash as possible, including the money earned by the winner throughout the game. But they have to keep it as well. Before the show began, our 6 contestants received 2 pieces of paper (Each one containing a True-or-False question, for the Bonus Round). But the finalists have to answer the statements from the people who got eliminated contestants. (In other words, the statements from the eliminated players are put in play). The other 4 statements belong to the finalists and it will be revealed during the Final Dilemma round). In this game, our finalists have to decide whether the statements of their fellow eliminated players were true or false.
The finalists begin with an initial $25,000, and these are the values for each question in the Bonus Round:
Each correct answer will keep the prize fund and that question amount will be added. The maximum potential payoff the finalists can win in the Bonus Round is $1,000,000 (The amount won during that Round will NOT be taken away in case of giving a wrong answer). In order for that to happen, the finalists have to play the perfect round, answering every single question correctly ($25,000 + $25,000 + $50,000 + $75,000 + $100,000 + $125,000 + $150,000 + $200,000 + $250,000 = $1,000,000). But, each mistake will cost them the 10% of the prize fund, but not the money won in the Bonus Round.
But that's not over! Because the losers are hoping to get some cash, anytime the finalists answer incorrectly. If the finalists get a wrong answer to any statement, that person receives a fixed amount of $10,000, But if both loser's statements were answered incorrectly, that person will get a guaranteed $25,000 this time. But if both statements were correct the loser will remain with $0, until further notice.
Final Dilemma: Once the Bonus Round ends, the remaining money on the prize fund and the winnings of the bonus round will be added up, and now the moment has come: The two finalists have to face the most important decision of their lives: The have to decide whether "WANT ALL" or "WANT NOTHING".
At this point, the two remaining contestants were each given a placard, one for each finalist. And each placard has the phrase: "I Want_________" written on it. And inside each placard contains two cards on it, one with the word: "ALL" written on it and another containing the word "NOTHING" written on it. Each contestant must secretly choose one card to fill the blank by indicating their intentions after looking inside to confirm which card will be put into their placard. Then, the contestants may speak to each other and sometimes asking the host for advice before making their decision. The decision made by our finalists will also be involved with the losers, but indirectly. It's based on the Prisoner's Dilemma, and that's how it works on "Cardiators":
The theoretical maximum which any of our six players can win is $2,500,000; in order for that to happen, the maximum payoff amount from each round must be banked: ($250,000×4)+($500,000×1)+($1,000,000×1)=$2,500,000.
As you know, before I've made the rules. You've decided what will be the top prize. But it seems that it's a tie between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000. So, this time around, here's a poll located above to determine the defivitive top prize (In case of tie, I will ask some people through PM. I will do the same thing with the questions, the statements and their hand)
Thank You and Bye-Bye for now.

- Question 6 (3rd Eliminated): +$150,000
- Question 7 (4th Eliminated): +$200,000
- Question 8 (4th Eliminated): +$250,000
Each correct answer will keep the prize fund and that question amount will be added. The decision made by our finalists will also be involved with the losers, but indirectly. It's based on the Prisoner's Dilemma, and that's how it works on "Cardiators":
- If both choose the "NOTHING" card, our finalists will share the prize fund and the losers will double their money. If there's at least one loser with no winnings from the Bonus Round, they'll receive the minimum house limit of $5,000.
- If one chooses "ALL" and the other chooses "NOTHING". Whoever chose the "ALL" card will win the entire jackpot and whoever got the "NOTHING" card will leave with no money (Except any prizes won previously), but the losers winnings from the Bonus Round will stay where they are.
- If both choose the "ALL" card, both finalists will leave empty-handed (But actually with no money, because they'll take any prizes won previously) and half of that jackpot will be splitted among the four losers, in addition to the money won by them in the Bonus Round.
The theoretical maximum which any of our six players can win is $2,500,000; in order for that to happen, the maximum payoff amount from each round must be banked: ($250,000×4)+($500,000×1)+($1,000,000×1)=$2,500,000.
