We'll be back with the exciting conclusion to this game, plus we'll also start our Secret Square game. But first, a word from your local NBC station. You're watching M-G-H-S on NBC. (cheers and applause)(commercial cue, Matt narrates)MATT: Stay tuned for more of the Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour.*fade to promo*
*fade to logo, back to studio* (commercial cue, cheers and applause, Matt narrates)MATT BINGEL: Now back to Greg Palmer and The Hollywood Squares.(cheers and applause)Greg: Thank you, Matt. We're back here at Universal Studios Hollywood, and we have quite a match. The champion Steven and the challenger Lenny are tied at $500 a piece. Before we went to break, Lenny had just blocked Steven's attempt at a diagonal. But let's just see how this turns out. Steven, your move.

When NFL players take a knee during the national anthem.
*audience cracks up*
Oh you knew that was coming! No I think this prayer is said by Muslims. I'm going to say you'll hear that prayer whenever Muslims pray. Like at certain points of the day.

Yom Kippur. X, gets the square and the win! (winning bell sounds, win cue, cheers and applause)So, Steven, you pick up $250 for the square and $1,000 for the game. That's a total of $2,000 for you, giving you a $1,250 lead over Lenny. However, we're up now to a $2,000 game which is also our Secret Square game. Now, on our last show, I put in a $5,000 shopping spree at Broyhill Showcase Galleries, a 4K TV, and a VIP Experience trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. That brought it to $11,031. Nobody won it. So, Matt, what are you going to add to that?

(Make Your Move cue, Matt narrates)Matt: Well, Greg, here's what we're adding to the Secret Square package.
First, this pedal boat. This water craft set a Guinness World Record for the fastest pedal-powered crossing of the English Channel. Possessing superior nautical qualities that enabled navigation through the Channel’s notoriously inhospitable waters, its ballasted keel provides superior stability in windy conditions for up to three passengers. The boat has a quiet, smooth pedal crank that drives a 15" two-bladed propeller, providing a hull speed of 5 1/4 mph. It has a built-in manual bilge pump and a collapsible, marine-grade woven acrylic bimini top. Furnished by Hammacher Schlemmer and valued at $4,500.
And you can use that pedal boat on your trip to exciting, romantic, PARIS!
You and a guest will fly round-trip coach from Los Angeles to Paris, France for a stay in a King Junior Suite at the Trianon Palace Versailles, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel. It's set just outside of Louis XIV's Royal Domain, close to Versailles' Antic District and exclusive nearby golf courses. Paris' city center is a mere 20 minutes' ride, where shopping tours, world-class theatre and sightseeing options abound. The Trianon Palace Versailles.
We're also including an economy rental car.
Plus, learn how to make a French meal with local chef Catherine Reed in Paris during this private cooking class. Catherine will welcome you into her professional kitchen in her apartment near the Arc de Triomphe, where you'll help prepare a 3-course lunch in a relaxed atmosphere with your private small group. She'll also take you to the market to pick up only the freshest ingredients.
This trip is worth $8,374; which brings the Secret Square package to a grand total of....
(cheers and applause) Greg: Let's show the audience at home who the Secret Square is.... (blip)Now you know. Circle starts the Secret Square game, and that's you, Lenny. Pick a square.

(cheers and applause)Not the Secret Square, but always a great choice. Bill, I'm not going to ask the next question, because we have a special guest who is. Please welcome back to the stage, one of the original masters of The Hollywood Squares, John Davidson! (cheers and applause as John Davidson comes up on stage and takes my spot momentarily)John: Thank you. Thank you very much, Greg. It's an honor to be back here. Hello, stars!(the stars ad-lib their greetings) John: All right, I better get to the question, shouldn't I? Here it is. Now, when I was hosting the show 30 years ago, we hired Eileena Stovall as our amanuensis. Bill....What is an amanuensis?

First off, I'm sensing a theme here. Are we sure we're not playing "Musical Chairs"?
Poor Greg first I take his center box, and now he's having to stand up again!
Actually it is very nice to see you Mr. Davidson. Welcome back to the squares!
As for what an amanuensis is, incidentally do we have one here now? Is there an amanuensis in the house?!?!?!
Actually that question doesn't seem so far fetched, the one I just asked as the word "amanuensis" is from the Latin derivative meaning health or well being.
An amanuensis is a certified medical helper.
