The last time we played, grapebuy789 retired a five-time champion with $25,000 in total winnings. So we start with two new players, and the show will begin as soon as we get those two signed up.

(1978 CS Intro) ERIN HARRIS: Aces are high, deuces are low! Call it right, and win the dough...on Card Sharks! (1978 CS Theme) And now, here's the host of Card Sharks, Bill Skinner!Thank you, Erin Harris, and welcome to Card Sharks! We're here with two new players, because the last time around, we had retired a five-time champion for the second time, and that was grapebuy789, who left us with $25,000 in total winnings. Now let's give a warm welcome to our two challengers, gameboy2000 and mringgenberg! Of course, your goal is to guess five cards correctly before your opponent does, and it takes two wins to advance to the Money Cards. Now, if you're ready, let's play our game! Also, let's say hello to our two dealers, Amber Lancaster and Tiffany Coyne! As Amber deals the cards for gameboy2000 and Tiffany does the same for mringgenberg, we'll get into our first question, which goes to gameboy2000. We asked 100 people who were alive back on April 4, 1968: "Today is the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination. Has the world grown more or less violent compared to 1968?"How many of those people said more?

That is going to be a high number. will say 85.
Post by mringgenberg on Apr 4, 2018 11:22:48 GMT -5
It's a little lower.
Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 4, 2018 11:44:13 GMT -5
So it's 85 for gameboy2000... ding!...and lower for mringgenberg. ding! Now the actual number of people who were alive 50 years ago and said that the world has grown more violent compared to back then is... ding-ding-ding!...82, so it is very high, but not as much as you think. And since it is lower, mringgenberg will get first crack at the cards. Tiffany, what's his base? (4 ⋄)A 4. Now you can play it right away, or change it; what are you going to do?

Higher

Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 4, 2018 14:37:08 GMT -5
Higher than a 4?
(3 ♥)
buzz!
Yikes! And right out of the gate, your turn is over. Now we go to gameboy2000, who must play his base card right now, and Amber, what is it?
(K ♥)
A King! Is the next card higher or lower?

Lower
Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 4, 2018 14:39:25 GMT -5
Lower than a King?
(2 ♣)
ding!
Aha, a 2! Now you can freeze right here, but I doubt that you'll want to with a deuce in your row.

Higher
Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 4, 2018 22:44:48 GMT -5
Of course, you'll go higher on a 2. Unless it's another 2, you get to keep on playing. Is it higher?
(A ♣)
ding!
Hey, you went all the way to the other end with that Ace! I'm suspecting that you're going to say lower on that, not that I'm trying to influence you here or anything.

Lower
Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 5, 2018 7:58:46 GMT -5
This time, the only way you don't continue is for the next card to be another Ace. Is it lower?
(10 ♠)
ding!
Yes, and you're already one card away from winning here, so would you like to continue or freeze?

Freeze
Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 5, 2018 14:30:06 GMT -5
And we will freeze at the 10, just to play it safe. Now mringgenberg, you get to answer the second question of the day. We asked 100 college students on spring break: "During spring break, would you rather be volunteering in your community or relaxing on vacation?"How many students said that they would volunteer in their community?
Post by mringgenberg on Apr 5, 2018 16:20:53 GMT -5
I think that will be a low number. 19
Post by gameboy2000 on Apr 5, 2018 18:29:12 GMT -5
I think it will be higher than that.
Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 5, 2018 22:55:18 GMT -5
So it's 19 from mringgenberg... ding!...and higher from gameboy2000. ding! And the actual number of college students on spring break who said that would volunteer in their community is... ding-ding-ding!...27, so it is higher, and gameboy2000, now is your chance to finish off your row. Do you want to change the 10 or play it right away?
Post by gameboy2000 on Apr 6, 2018 4:30:05 GMT -5
Change it please.
Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 6, 2018 7:52:58 GMT -5
And we change it to...
(K ⋄)
...a King! Now for the win, is the last card higher or lower?
Post by gameboy2000 on Apr 6, 2018 8:13:37 GMT -5
Lower
Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 6, 2018 9:46:56 GMT -5
As long as it's not an Ace or another King, you win. Is it lower? (10 ⋄)ding-ding-ding!(1978 CS Win Cue) You got it, and $1,000 for winning the first round. But when we come back, we'll give mringgenberg a chance to catch up. (1978 CS Theme) More Card Sharks after this.

We're back with Round 2 of our game, and mringgenberg, since you're the second player, you will answer our first question of the round. We asked 100 nightclub bouncers:
"Have you ever been beaten up and/or punched in the face by an unruly person because you refused admission to him/her?"
How many of them said yes?
Post by mringgenberg on Apr 7, 2018 8:20:32 GMT -5
It's going to be right in the middle. 44
Post by gameboy2000 on Apr 7, 2018 9:14:08 GMT -5
I don't think that will happen to too many bouncers because they are usually bigger. I'll say lower.
Post by Bill Skinner on Apr 7, 2018 23:27:11 GMT -5
So it's 44 for mringgenberg... ding!...and lower for gameboy2000. ding! And the actual number of bouncers who said that they have been beaten up by people who they refused entry to is... ding-ding-ding!...26, so it is lower, and gameboy2000 will play his cards first. Now Amber, what is his first card? (5 ⋄)A 5. Would you like to play it right away, or change it?
