Matt: $700 Kevin: $925 Clement: $1250 Michael: $1251
Now do you know what you've done, Michael? You've broken him. You've taken this poor Frenchman, that's what he said he was during the break, you've taken this poor Frenchman and broken him. Don't you have anything to say for yourself?

All right. Well, the actual retail price is....... (I pull out the card from the envelope) $1,200. Kevin, you've got it! (dings)[Edited "Come on Down" cue](cheers and applause as Kevin comes up on stage) And Kevin is gonna join me up on Home Base by the turntable for his game, because it wouldn't be The Price is Right without a turntable. (I shake Kevin's hand) Hiya, Kevin. Tell us something about yourself.

Hello, Greg. I'm an accountant from Long Island, New York with a BS in Accounting. When I'm not doing taxes, I like reading, writing fan-fiction and video games.

Oh, that sounds great. Well, Kevin... I'm afraid we don't have a car for you to play for. However, I think this will be just as nice. (Door #3 opens up to reveal Rachel in....)Burton: This new dining room!
It's the AICO Chateau Beauvais Dining Set. Each piece has been carefully designed for maximum comfort. The upholstery features multiple fabrics mixed with metallic leather, and includes several unique pieces including a sweetheart chaise. The dining room boasts a trestle base rectangular dining table that can extend for any occasion, and detailed marquetry with a botanical feel. It includes a table base and top, two arm chairs, and four side chairs. From Aico.
(the game comes around on the turntable) Greg: Kevin, you're an accountant, so you should know how to play this game. It's Flip Flop. [FLIP] [FLOP]
[97][02] [$$$$$$]
The price of that dining room is not $9,702! I repeat, it is not $9,702! It is wrong! Wrong, I say! However, you can either flip this..... (I flip it) [FLIP] [FLOP]
[79][02] [$$$$$$]
To make it $7,902.... or...... (I flip the one back and flop the other) [FLIP] [FLOP]
[97][20] [$$$$$$]
flop this to make it $9,720..... or..... (I flip the other one around) [FLIP] [FLOP]
[79][20] [$$$$$$]
flip and flop to make the price $7,920. (I return it to the original positions) But just don't leave it as is. [FLIP] [FLOP]
[97][02] [$$$$$$]
So--- and this is where commas become so important ---- you can flip, flop, or flip flop. Just don't leave it at $9,702! Are we clear on that?

(He does so)
[FLIP] [FLOP]
[79][20] [$$$$$$]
All right. Stand over here. We're gonna see if you made the right decision. A la peanut butter sandwiches! (I hit the button on the side)
[FLIP] [FLOP]
[79][20] [79 20]
Win! (dings)(cheers and applause) [MAIN THEME]Congratulations, oh, he's already off! Wants to take a good look at that dining room. It'll take us just about a minute to set things up for the Big Wheel. While we do that, how do people get here, Burton? (wide pan and scan of the cheering audience) Burton: (VO) Well, I'll tell you. If you'd like tickets to see The Price is Right in person and plan to visit the Los Angeles area, go to priceisright.com/tickets or call us at area code (213) TPIR-TIX. That's area code (213) TPIR-TIX. Please plan your trip at least a month in advance. We'll be back with the Showcase Showdown after these messages! (fade to commercial) -------------- (fade in) (Greg stands with the three players at the Big Wheel) Greg: Well, we've come to everyone's favorite part of the show, the Big Wheel! Or, as it's more properly known, the Showcase Showdown. We've got three people who have all won something. Two winners and a bailout. Now, who would like to explain how this game works?

Post by palmer7 on Dec 3, 2014 10:13:10 GMT -5
The cameras are getting to you, eh? All right then, I shall explain it. Each of you are going to spin this wheel a maximum of two times. The object of this Showcase Showdown is to come as close as you can to a dollar without going over. The one who is closest goes on to the Showcase. However, if you get exactly one dollar in one spin or a combination of two spins, you win $5,000 in cash and a Bonus Spin in which you can win as much as $100,000! (audience cheers) Now, Kevin, since you won the least, you get to spin first.
(2 numbers between 1 and 20, please; I'll be using two different wheels for each player; also, if you want to stop at a certain point, just tell me)

Congratulations, and good luck to you with that. (Doug walks off) All right, boys. Over here. You each get one spin of the wheel, whoever is higher goes onto the Showcase. Of course, if you land on the dollar, you still get the money and a bonus spin. (Evan and Kevin, I'll need each of you to pick a number from 1 to 20).

(fade in, cheers and applause) Greg: We're back here with Evan, who has won $10,736 in cash and prizes so far. He wants to win more in the Showcase, so let's do it! (The turntable spins to reveal the Range Finder, a screen with several flashing dollar amounts on it. Evan stands at the Showcase lectern with the buzzer.)All right, Evan. As you know, up on this board, we have dollar amounts ranging from $3,000 to $15,000. Whatever you land on is how close you have to be to your Showcase without going over in order to win it. However, and this is important....... if you are the winner, and you come within $500 of the actual retail price without going over, we will also give you a $1,000,000 cash bonus! (Million Dollar Fanfare plays)(cheers and applause) You heard me right, a million dollars, and all for coming within $500 of the ARP without going over. Now, that light's flashing. I want you to focus, concentrate, and when you're feeling lucky, hit the buzzer. (a number from 1-9, please)
