Would James Greek and Frank Santori kindly check in?
Once you both do, episode one will begin.
Odds are it may not begin until much later today or early tomorrow as today (Saturday March 10th) I have quite a busy calendar.
Thanks!
Bill

Checking in. By the way, my last name is "Sartori". Common mistake among folks.

Burton Richardson: Tonight… A game show and classic television fan, music lover and Netflix viewer from the great state of Alabama…James Greek… And… From Holbrook, Massachusetts, a student studying early childhood education…Frank Santori… Will engage in a head to head battle of speed, knowledge, strategy and daring… And tonight, one of them could win… A pair of designer lamps, handsome luggage… This cool refrigerator/freezer… Or a hot trip to Tahiti! And one of them could drive home tonight in this brand new luxury automobile! And if they do so, they could take home over $250,000 in cash!!! From Television City in Hollywood…get ready to feel the rush…of GOOOOOOOOOOOOLD RUSH!!!!!!!! (applause) And now, here is the Master of Ceremonies, a gold nugget in his own right…Bill McDee!!!! (applause) That's me! I thank you all, and I thank all of you who have written to me extending your warmest welcome back wishes to me. I appreciate that more than any words could ever possibly or adequately express. I again say thank you, and I thank you for joining us for a brand new game here in Gambit PM's old time slot. This game is GOLD RUSH, and there's a lot of riches to be had as Burton RICHardson just mentioned and I hope we give it ALL away, although it won't exactly be given away. Our contestants will need elements of speed, knowledge, strategy and intuition to navigate through our game. Folks, I came across this game on Youtube by a very good friend of ours Brandon Scruggs, courtesy of his MVG Productions, and I have to tell you, from watching the dozen episodes Brandon has presented thus far, it is a really fast-paced and suspenseful game and I for one am extremely delighted to be able to present it to you all here as well. Brandon was kind enough to permit me to present to you this game with some slight changes made to the format used on his Youtube edition. I certainly hope you will like them, and I once again extend my deepest and most heartfelt thanks to you Brandon. I hope to do you and MVG Productions proud with this version of Gold Rush! Burton introduced our contestants briefly at the top of our program, let's see if we can't get to know them a little bit better. On my right/stage left please welcome James Greek! (applause) James, welcome to Gold Rush. What else would you like Mr. and Mrs. America and all the ships at sea to know about you?

Well everything Burton said is true. I also spend my time running errands for my aunt and cruising around my hometown of Elba, Alabama!

Before this show ends, you may have a new Cadillac in which to cruise around Elba! Best wishes tonight James!
And Frank, what more would you like for our viewing audience to know about you?

I think Burton got my last name wrong. It's Sartori. It's a common mistake. But what he said is true. I study early childhood education. I also enjoy shopping for retro video games and hosting net game versions of some of my favorite game shows.

Thank you for pointing that out Frank, and deepest apologies for the error. Anything you win, we'll be sure to get the spelling correct on the check!
(chuckling from the crowd)
Players, you briefly saw our giant game board of 25 numbered squares. Most of them contain good things either cash or prizes. Two of them are "Double Your Dollars", uncover one of those and your score will instantly double.
But beware, for behind five of those boxes are Fool's Gold cards. If you uncover one of those, your score is reset back down to zero!
To earn control of the board, you must correctly answer a toss-up question. Toss-ups are based on unusual questions involving numbers.
If you are the first to signal in and are correct, you then will have the option to play the board or pass control over to your opponent. If you give an incorrect answer or take too long to answer, control of the board will go to your opponent instead.
You can win the game in one of three ways...
If you are in the lead and nothing remains on the board but Fool's Gold cards, you win.
If your opponent uncovers the last remaining Fool's Gold card, you win.
Finally, the other way you can win is if your score is $25,000 or more than your opponent.
The winner of the game gets to play our Bonus Bonanza game where really big money could be won, including a top prize tonight of a QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS!!!!
(Audience ooohs & ahhhs)...
We're going to take a quick time out here to earn some of that money, and when we return, we will play our first match of Gold Rush! Please stay tuned!
(applause)
(((Players at this time kindly submit to me 24 buzz codes each via private message. Once I get both of those and am back home, the match will begin...thank you)))

(applause) We are back and we are off and running with our first toss-up question of the evening. James and Frank... Was the Earth's estimated population in 2012 more or less than 7 billion people? picosong.com/g3fZ/James, your answer please.

As a matter of fact, in 2012, the estimated population of planet Earth was 7 billion 121 million people! You're right James! (applause) And I hope each and every last one of them is tuned in right now to our program! James, ordinarily when you give a correct answer you have the option to either pass or play. Since you have nothing to lose at this point, select a number that looks good to you!

Hoping for something good under number 4, one of my favorite numbers... It's a money box! James, there are different cash awards hidden under each of those dollar bills. Do you want top, middle or bottom?

Top money card is... $3,000! A nice start! (applause) James strikes first. Next toss up question players. This is a True or False question, so your answer must be either True or False... The average female alligator lays 40 eggs at a time. picosong.com/g3fZ/James, you rang in first again. Is the correct answer true or false?

The actual number of eggs the average female alligator lays at any given time is... 40! True is correct James! Here's where the strategy comes into play. James you have $3,000 at the moment. You have the option to play the board or pass it to Frank, as there are 5 Fool's Gold cards on the board. If you play and select a Fool's Gold, you'll be reset to $0 again. So do you want to pass or play James?

And the cash award there is... (applause) Wow! Another $2,250! James is over $5,000 already. Frank has yet to score. Let's see about this next question. Was Toronto's CN Tower opened before or after 1977? picosong.com/g3fZ/And it's James with the fast hand again! James, your answer please.

It opened in...
1976, before is correct!
(applause)
James, you have over $5,000 at risk if you play the board. 23 numbers left, 5 of them will wipe you out.
Do you wish to pass or play?

Play and let's go with number 2

Post by billmcdee on Mar 18, 2018 4:17:49 GMT -5
Number 2 it is... Mystery money. This can be as little as $750 or as much as $7,500. Let's see what the randomizer stops at this time... Oh boy! (applause & cheering) Another $4,950 for you James! Wow! A commanding lead thus far for James, but that can change ever so quickly, especially with all 5 Fool's Gold cards still lurking on the big board. Frank, hang in there! Next toss-up question coming... Approximately how many M&Ms are sold every day in the United States? Is it more or less than 175 million? www.dougmorris.net/dice/HR78_BUZZIN.mp3And wow it's James once again, fastest buzzer in the west! Is the correct answer more or less than 175 million James?
