I know that I have just begun to host Wheel of Fortune 1980's, but after the current episode wraps up, I will put the next episode of the game on hold for a little bit, and in it's place, I will host another Australian version of Wheel of Fortune. This time, however I will be solely focusing on the "Rob Elliot" years, which were from 1997-2003, with the graphics representing the set update in 1999.
There are various rule changes from the American version, which are explained down below.
Main Game:
Bonus Round:
Random Notes:
Champions can stay on until they lose.
I hope that everyone who participates has fun with this version, as this version of Wheel has always intrigued me. Also, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
There are various rule changes from the American version, which are explained down below.
Main Game:
- Top Dollar Values are $750, $1,500, $1,500 and then $2,500.
- A free spin appears on the wheel in round one, one the $150, if you land on it, you get a free spin and get to call a letter for the value
- A bonus prize space appears on the wheel during round two, if you land on it, you get to call a letter and if it's in the puzzle, you can claim it and get the dollar amount under it.
- Point/dollar values are not multiplied by the occurrence of each letter (i.e. a spin worth $240 would remain $240 no matter how many of that letter is in the puzzle)
- Vowels will cost $50
- There is a red mystery letter, which will double the current dollar figure spun up (i.e. a spin worth $100 will become $200 if the red letter is revealed. Also, the red mystery letter may appear in more than one round)
- When you solve a puzzle, you will win a small prize, which will not affect the totals.
- Points/dollars are carried over, regardless of whether or not you solved a puzzle, however if you haven't solved a puzzle, you can lose everything to a bankrupt.
- The winner of the game is determined by who has the highest total, whether or not you solved a puzzle. (So essentially, you don't technically have to solve to win the game, which will most likely be a rare occurence)
- Some games may have two speed-ups (like during those years, one occurring in round three, the other at the start of round four)
- You get ONE chance to solve the speed-up puzzle.
- Bonus Categories (Clue, True or False, Where Are We, Fill in the Blank) will reward $200 to the player's score, if they provide the correct answer.
Bonus Round:
- Contestants will get two consonants and one vowel, adding an additional consonant for every $2,000 scored by the winning contestant.
- A Golden Prize Wheel will be spun (A Jackpot may be added later, increasing by $100 each day it's not won)
- You get seven guesses to guess the puzzle
Random Notes:
- Many puzzles such as Star/Title, Star/Role and Artist/Song (just some examples) usually leave out the words "in" "as" "by" (You can expect the same to usually happen on my version)
Champions can stay on until they lose.
I hope that everyone who participates has fun with this version, as this version of Wheel has always intrigued me. Also, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
