Not really helping, Jay. There's not going to be an episode 21 without an episode 20. I still need two more players.

Do I need to drop the $875 level and just pour the $500,000 into the cash jackpot? I mean, nobody has won the Super Lot yet, and the same people keep showing up!

------------------------- (shot of Jon Darrall, drumroll) Charlie Tuna: (VO) This is our returning champion, Jon Darrall from Greenville, South Carolina. Stand by to see Jon play for Zoltar, valued at $9,000![MAIN THEME]
Tonight, on America's biggest bargain sale, we're offering a Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet valued at $104,525 for $530!
Cash and prizes worth over $1,000,000 for $875!
Two of the incredible bargains on.....
(echo) And now, here's the star of the show, Greg Palmer!(the doors open and I run to my lectern)Greg: Thank you, Charlie. Thank you all very much, and welcome to our special TGIF edition of $ale of the Century. If you remember on Thursday, Evan had to leave, so we brought in Matt, and he lost. Still, he went home with almost $30,000 in cash and prizes, and we're happy for him. We had a high-scoring winner on our last show, let's welcome him back, Jon Darrall! (audience cheers) Hiya, Jon. Welcome back to $ale. How are you doing tonight?

I'm glad to hear that. You won last time with $160 in your bank. $15 and a win is all you need for Zoltar, which Mr. Tuna mentioned at the top of the show. However, if you do particularly well tonight, $100 would get you that $15,000 trip to Dubai you wanted; and $175 and the win would get you an electric car worth $36,000. So, you could have a choice of prizes tonight should you win. Good luck to you. A gentleman, a scholar, and a fine champion. Here to introduce the challengers is..... (walking out on stage is Summer Bartholomew) not Stacey Wren, but Summer Bartholomew. (audience cheers, but one person in the audience shouts something) What was that? What was that I heard out in the audience? "Who is Summer Bartholomew?" If you watch GSN at 10 AM each morning, you will understand. Summer, what are you doing out here? Summer: Well, I just wanted to tell you that Jim and I won't be here next week. This is our last day, so I thought Stacey and I would surprise you. Greg: Well, that's nice of you. Who are our two challengers tonight? (as the music plays, the doors open and models of the opposite gender take the contestants to their seats)Summer: He's a sportsman from Angers, France, please welcome Clément Couvreur. And he's a customer service rep for a major convenience store chain and a "My Little Pony" fan. From Plymouth, Massachusetts; say hello to Steven Anderson.(cheers and applause, Summer quickly leaves) All right, we'll see Stacey for an Instant Bargain later on. Thanks, Summer! But first, let's welcome Steven Anderson. Summer tells me you are what we call a "brony". How long have you been this, and what keeps you hanging on?

I've been a Brony since 2012, joined the herd at the end of season 2. Had a wonderful time at Bronycon in Baltimore this past summer, and have since found many friends who happen to enjoy the show since then

Hi Lindsey! Can we get a shot of her? (we do) All right, hi there. (she waves, back to Steven) OK, good luck to you.
And Clément, you are originally from Angers, France. Where is that exactly, for those who don't know the area?

It's about 180 miles south-west of Paris.

Oh, so it's far away from anything. All right. So, what do you do up there? Do you live in a farm, or the suburbs, what?

(laughing out loud) We have pretty much everything we need here: shops of all kinds, administrations, high quality hospitals, universities, highways... Angers is the 18th largest city of France with 150,000 inhabitants, so that's not a "lost" city away from everything. We have 5 professional sports teams (soccer, ice hockey, basketball, table tennis, team handball), we have 30,000 students in our universities, we're 90 minutes away from Paris thanks to high speed railroads if we ever miss anything. Finally, Angers was chosen this year by L'Express magazine as the greatest place to live, among the 50 largest cities in France outside Paris and suburbs. So, despite the fact I don't have a job as of now, I feel well in Angers, thanks for caring.

Thank you very much. Now it's time to play You Bet Your Life. (no reaction, I clear my throat, canned NBC laughter) Had to turn on the laughter machine for that one. Good luck to all three of you, we'll give you each $20. (the board initializes) Steven: $20 Clément: $20 Jon: $20
Player with the most money at the end of the game wins and gets to do some fabulous shopping at the $ale of the Century, which incidentally, is the name of this show. As a reminder, Jon just needs to win to get Zoltar, $100 or more for the trip, and $175 or more for the electric car. Let's get the game going with this for $5. 1. What did John F. Kennedy supposedly call himself when he said "Ich bin ein Berliner"? 2. Who was buried in Grant's Tomb? 3. What is the longest river in the United States? 4. How many vowels are in the name of said river? 5. In what sport could you "Hit for six", "Take guard", and be "Dispatched to the boundary"?(buzzcodes from 1-100 and answers via PM, please)

1. What did John F. Kennedy supposedly call himself when he said "Ich bin ein Berliner"? (buzzcode: 84) *Clément buzzes in (99)*Clément? Clément: A cake(the phone rings, I answer it) Hello? (pause) We're going to give it to him? All right. (I hang up) We're going to give it to you. The right answer was jelly donut, but a cake is a donut in France. You draw first blood. (correct) Steven: $20 Clément: $25 Jon: $20
2. Who was buried in Grant's Tomb? (buzzcode: 70) *Jon buzzes in (54)*Jon? Jon: Ulysses S. Grant and his wife, Julia(the phone rings again, I pick it up) Yo? (pause) We're giving that to them too? All right. (I hang up) Technically, nobody was buried in Grant's tomb. Grant and his wife are entombed in sarcophagi above ground in an atrium rather than being buried in the ground. You're in a tie. (correct) Steven: $20 Clément: $25 Jon: $25
3. What is the longest river in the United States? (buzzcode: 42) *Clément buzzes in (49)*Clément? Clément: Mississippi(wrong)Oh no, it's the Missouri. It beats out the Mississippi by 139 miles. You lose $5. Sorry about that. Steven: $20 Clément: $20 Jon: $25
4. How many vowels are in the name of said river? (buzzcode: 1) *Jon buzzes in (46)*Jon? Jon: Four vowels(correct)And that's right for another $5, you now have a $10 lead. Steven: $20 Clément: $20 Jon: $30
5. In what sport could you "Hit for six", "Take guard", and be "Dispatched to the boundary"? (buzzcode: 23) *Steven buzzes in (52)*Steven? Steven: Cricket(correct)And that is right, you now have another $5. Steven: $25 Clément: $20 Jon: $30
[INSTANT BARGAIN]Time now for an Instant Bargain, player in the lead can buy bargain merchandise. Jon, we've got a real blast from the past for you. Here's a classic $ale clip from 1985, recently seen again on GSN. Take it away, Jim! (cheers and applause) Ever since that clip went out on Youtube, people have been demanding it, and guess what? Here it is again! It's a $425 soup tureen, for only $5. We have to get rid of it. Do you want a soup tureen, Jon?

But Jon...... this has two fish on it! Two fish! I mean, this was once touched by both Jim and Summer! You'd be taking home part of this show's history!
Look, I promised Jim that I'd try to sell this on this very show. We've had this thing for 29 years and we still haven't sold it. So, I will do two things. One, you have a $5 lead, I'll knock the price down to $3. I'll also add $1,075 in cash to make it an even $1,500. You'd have a $2 lead. Going once.... going twice....

(Shaking my head no) Jim and Summer, I do admire your work, but these hands have touched Pat and Vanna's hands.

(I slam my fist on the lectern in mock anger) How are we supposed to compete with Pat and Vanna!?!? No sale! (I turn to the audience) All right, who wants to buy this? First person to say $3 gets it. (someone in the audience raises her hand) We have a nun in the audience who'll take it. Come right up here, sister. Yes, you. Come up here. (the nun walks up on stage to cheers and applause) And what's your name? Nun: Sister Mary Theresa Francesca.Greg: Well, sister, today is your lucky day. Would you be willing to take this $425 tureen off our hands for $3? (she nods and gives me the money) Bless you, sister. Bless you. [SALE SURPRISE]Boy, that was quick! When I said today was your lucky day, I wasn't kidding. Because Jon, I knew.... I knew nobody would take this off our hands for nothing. So, before the show, I asked our producers to put something in it. And it's not soup! If you'll just hold this tureen, ma'am.... (she does) and I will open the lid and pull out a folded check. (I do so and show it to the audience) It's in the amount of $4,000. (I unfold it and show it to the audience, and someone in the audience screams) I think someone just fainted. Jon, you could've had $4,000 in cash, but noooo, you had to use Pat and Vanna. (I put the check back in the tureen) And now, this elderly lady of the cloth will take $4,000 with her. And I'm sure it will be put to good use. (audience cheers) Sister Mary, is there anything you want to say to this young man? Sister M.T.F.: God bless you, child.Greg: Very good. Now, why don't you sit back in the audience with the tureen, and enjoy the rest of the show? A nice round of applause for a good shopper. (audience cheers as the sister goes back with the tureen in the audience and I walk back to my lectern) Yes, I know it was unusual, but we finally got rid of it! Yay! Jon hangs on to the lead. All three of you are back in with this. 1. What's the common name for the theory of how the universe popped into theory? 2. What country gave the world "Crocodile Dundee"? 3. What is a sufferer from alopecia losing? 4. What's the national flower of the U.S.?
(buzzcodes and answers, please)
