For celebrities:
Once a player selects a word, I will send you each a definition with only one being the correct one! It doesn't matter whether or not you have the right definition, it will be up to the contestant to find that out! All I will ask you to do is try to add some humor to it!

Well we hope you enjoy this revival of Word Play! (applause) Here are today's words, one of them is a bonus word which is worth a trip to the Dominican Republic! (huge applause) They are....  We have three rounds, one player picks one word each! In Round 1, words are worth $100, $200 and $300, and whoever has the most money after three rounds becomes the champion and plays Double Definitions for $10,000! (huge applause) Notice how all the words are connected, if you link them together it will start a chain of sorts and award you more money! As forgetful as I normally am, I hope to have covered everything! Matt you won the toss to start, pick a word and good luck! |

I'll tell you. A popinjay gets its name from the sound it makes when you squash it. It goes "pop" when a blue jay eats it.

Little history behind it; a popinjay is a genus of beetles of the family Scarabaeidae.

Well, I have heard of the new line of convenience stores at the west coast. Pop-in- jay’s You roll up. Pop in get a joint while you wait and pop out. Pretty simple really except that most customers tend to buy more than what they going for.
In all seriousness, a popinjay is like a person who tends to stunt when they have nothing to back it up. You may see them in the club or in business. They may tend too dress with all the labels showing everywhere.
Thus i think it’s a strutting supercilious person.
