U.S. Historical Figures for $300, Joker's Jackpot now at $1,500! Frank, take a look at this picture here: She was an activist in the Civil Rights Movement, whom the United States Congress called "the first lady of civil rights" and "the mother of the freedom movement". On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, she refused to obey bus driver James F. Blake's order to give up her seat in the "colored section" to a white passenger, after the whites-only section was filled. She was not the first person however to resist bus segregation. Her act of defiance and the Montgomery bus boycott became important symbols of the modern Civil Rights Movement. She became an international icon of resistance to racial segregation. She organized and collaborated with civil rights leaders, including Edgar Nixon, president of the local chapter of the NAACP; and Martin Luther King, Jr., a new minister who gained national prominence in the civil rights movement. This statue of her was unveiled at the State Capitol in her honor in 2013, but passed away in 2005. For $300 and a total of $900, who is this pioneer?

Name The Director for $300, the Joker's Jackpot at $4,000! Kevin, this individual not only directed, but also wrote The Terminator and Aliens in the mid 1980's and followed up with The Abyss in 1989. He found further critical acclaim for his use of special effects in Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991. After his film True Lies in 1994, he took on his biggest film at the time, Titanic in 1997, which earned him Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Film Editing. After Titanic, he began a project that took almost 10 years to make: his science-fiction epic Avatar in 2009, which was in particular a landmark for 3D technology, and for which he received nominations for the same three Academy Awards. For $300 and to tie the game, who was this director?
