With the weekend coming up, I'm going to see if I can time this episode to start on the evening of New Year's Day. Here's what will be different for 1993:
-Some regular puzzles may be followed by bonus questions worth $500. -The Surprise Wedge is now on the wheel.
Matt Riggenberg is our champion with $17,190 in winnings as he attempts to become our first undefeated daytime champ. I need two players to challenge him. Who's in?

*camera pans across the stage as contestants walk to their podiums* Audience: WHEEL!...OF!...FORTUNE! *1992 Changing Keys* Jim: From Net Game Central, the famous wheel is spinning across the world! With lots of cash, prizes, and surprises of all sizes just waiting to be won on Wheeeeeeel of Fortune! Here they are, your host, Kevin Kolsen, and your hostess, Vanna White! Me; Hi, everybody! Welcome again to another great year of reliving the past here on Wheel of Fortune: Seasons. It's still the daytime show, so we're going to play as they would have done back in 1993. We'll do that first by meeting our three players. To my immediate left, playing in the red spot is Frank Sartori. Frank, how were your holidays?

My holidays were very crazy. But I won't bore everybody with the details. After all, this is a half-hour show.

Well, that's what tape edits are for. We pay our editors overtime, too, even if they've been with us for one show.
*laughter*
Next to him is Matt Riggenberg. He's our returning champion with a two-day total of $17,190.
*cheers and applause*
Now, Matt, if you've realized, you retire undefeated if you can win today. Do you think the holiday break will have an impact on your strategy?

That’s one way to look at it. Finally on the end is Bill Skinner. How are things with you, Bill?

Going pretty great, Kevin; I had a great time myself during the holiday season. I think I'll enjoy what the daytime show would've been like if it hadn't been cancelled two years ago in the real world. Looking forward to seeing how this goes from here on out.

Well, I'm glad to hear that. You're going to be seeing how it works in just a moment. $500 top dollar value, we're playing for cash. We have a new wedge on the wheel called Surprise; that's a prize which we won't tell you about unless you win it. We have another wedge on the wheel that we do know about and Jim is going to be talking about it right now... Jim? Jim: A beautiful prize, Kevin; it's this Sterling Silver ring! With cushion-cut genuine morganite and diamond accents, this three-stone ring will add a touch of class and its professionalism will speak volumes. It's plated with pink & white rhodium and all together captivating, so you can look fancy no matter the style: $925! Me: There it is on the wheel... How's about we take a look at our first puzzle? Here it comes... *puzzle reveal chimes* There it is; the category is Slang. There is an apostrophe in this puzzle. *bong* Just before the show, we drew numbers to see who would start this game. And it will be Frank; all the best!

I may not be but you're correct! *cheers and applause* *'89 puzzle solve cue* Well, how about this? Not a lot of letter in that puzzle but they were enough for you to win this neat thing. *picks up the Surprise wedge* Jim, how about we hear what Frank just won? Jim: Frank, if you stayed up late for New Year's, get plenty of rest before you visit the city that never sleeps; you're going to New York City! You and a guest will fly round trip to New York for a three-night stay at the world-renowned Plaza Hotel, New York's most exciting hotel experience. Pamper yourself with our fascinating accommodations and take advantage of our numerous selections of the Plaza Food Hall. We've also included a limo tour of New York's hot spots and must-see destinations, along with passes to the top of the Empire State Building. This Big Apple experience is worth $5,265! Congratulations! Me: How about that? After only one round, you've managed to cross the $6,000 mark! And of course that Free Spin could come in handy later on. Right now, we're going to hear Jim speak again. This time, about another prize on the wheel. Jim: Roger that, Kevin. Here's a great fit anywhere in the house, this solid pine armoire! From Casamia, this six-drawer, two-door armoire measures four feet in height and each component is handcrafted from natural woods, fabrics and rattans. It will add a touch of Mediterranean class to your home with its cream color, balanced with its flexible solidarity: $1,598! Our players have some work to do to catch Frank. Maybe this big puzzle will help. *puzzle reveal chimes* It's a Quotation. Matt, let's play catch up. Go ahead and spin that wheel!
