[MARK] [3H]<7C>[KC][5C][KH] [TRIP TO SWITZERLAND] [2018 CAMARO]
[DOUG] <4H>[CS][CS][CS][CS] [TRIP TO TAHITI]
It is! [WINNING BELL SOUNDS, WIN CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Mark wins the game and $5,000 for his charity. In the meantime, Abdul Giles, come on down and get the keys to your new car! (Abdul rushes to the stage area and picks up his keys. He's ever-so-excited, and he's brought his family with him. It's a good thing, too, because the car has been wheeled out on stage.) And while Liz gives you your "Winner!" license plate, Johnny Gilbert's going to tell you about your new Camaro and your trip to Switzerland. John?

Indeed, indeed. Doug, don't worry, you've still got that trip to Tahiti on your board, maybe we'll give that away. Abdul, we're just gonna put you in Contestant's Row for now so you can get a great view of what's about to happen. We could have you back on stage for the Money Cards. We'll have Game #2 right after these messages. (Merritt raises his "Winner!" license plate while Liz and Nat congratulate him) [MAIN THEME, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*fade to commercial*

(fade in, cheers and applause) [MARK] <CS>[CS][CS][CS][CS]
[DOUG] <CS>[CS][CS][CS][CS] [TRIP TO TAHITI]
Greg: And welcome back to Celebrity Card Sharks. You thought it was all over, but oh no. We've just finished the first game. As you can see, Liz and Nat have put in five brand-new cards. Doug's still playing for that trip to Tahiti, but Mark gets the first question in Game #2. (I pull out the card) Mark.... our man on the street went to an elementary school, where we surveyed 100 second-graders and asked them to identify this man.... The specific question we asked them is... What is the name of this man?How many second-graders could correctly identify this man as President Donald Trump?
|
|
|
Post by GameShowNetwork on Dec 23, 2017 16:28:57 GMT -5
I don't think a lot of second graders would know who Trump is, so I think it'll be a low number. I will say 18 of them.

Mark thinks 18 second graders could correctly identify President Trump. Doug, is that higher or lower?

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Dec 24, 2017 9:33:46 GMT -5
Well, when I was in second grade, I knew who was the President of the United States at that time. At the risk of showing my age, I was in the lower elementary levels during The Johnson Administration. (audience laughs) The *Andrew* Johnson Administration.
(more laughs; applause)
But seriously, in this day and age, I think a lot of kids could spot President Trump instantly -- whether he's a mile away, on the TV or on Twitter. So, it's gotta be higher.

[DING] [MARK] [DOUG]
[ ] [ ] [HIGHER] [ 18 ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
At the risk of showing my age, when I was in second grade, we didn't have Twitter. And the Internet was slow, websites were basic, and we liked it! (audience cheers) Kids these days. (audience laughs) The actual number of second-graders who could correctly identify our president, Donald J. Trump, is.... [MARK] [DOUG]
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ 18 ] [ 14 ] [ ] [ LOWER ] [ ] [ ]
[DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]14! It was lower, Mark gets control! That is astounding. 14. (I walk over to the board) Maybe they're too busy watching Beyblade Burst to notice. Mark, here's your base card. (I turn it over) [MARK] <4S>[CS][CS][CS][CS]

[DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]A Spark! That is a 2018 Chevrolet Spark. Nat's going to put that in the prize column..... [MARK] <4S>[CS][CS][CS][CS] [2018 SPARK]

And Mark protects his position, keeping Doug away from the cards. (I walk back to G2-T2 and take out the next card) But Mr. Morris will get his chance soon enough as he gets question 2. Doug..... Educated guess question. We polled an Internet audience very recently, and we asked them, Are you better off than you were four years ago? What percentage of respondents replied that they were better off now than they were four years ago?

Ah, the classic Ronald Reagan question.
Stock market's shot through the roof this year. And Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public on main street have to be enjoying some kind of residual effect.
Then again, ya can't please 'em all.
So -- I'd say a majority.
Let's go -- roughly two-thirds -- 68%.
