(Click here for the rules!)Now, since that this game requires a champion, I have a question to anyone who wants that position. The editorial "Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus" was first published in which New York City newspaper?A. The New York Post B. The New York Sun C. The New York Daily News D. The New York Times The first to answer the question by PM'ing me your answer will become the champion, and then from there, I need 4 regular players.

DK: That's good to hear, and I know that all of you want some Holiday money. Well, for one of you, your dream is going to come true, but to the others, it'll only be a Pipe Dream. Let's hear it for our players tonight! (Audience Cheers)Now that we've met our players, there's actually one more person that I need to introduce: He has come all the way from the UK and is very well known to be our "Pointless" friend... but not here. He's our Dice Dealer, Richard Osman. Richard: Good evening. (Audience Cheers)And good evening to you, Dayo. DK: Evening to you, Richard. It's actually an honor for you to be our Dice Dealer in the Sin City of USA. Now, how do you feel about this game? Richard: It's actually quite unique, and I'm really looking forward to who wins this game. DK: Indeed. In fact, you have a lot of work to do, Richard, especially when you are going to be on the lookout for all of the play-by-play action, and for guarding the cash. And speaking of cash, there's one very important element, and it's not called the Vegas Dice Game for nothing...it's the Dice themselves! They will determine your fate on whether you are going to win big or going home. And we'll see on how well our players are going to do right after this quick break, so don't go away!

(Fade in; Audience Applause) DK: Hey, hey, hey! We're glad to have you back, and we're ready to play the Vegas Dice Game! First of all, let's give each of our players $500 in cash to start with! MATT | KEVIN | ANTONIO | JAMES | $500 | $500 | $500 | $500 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 |
(Cha-Ching!)And you may notice that each of you have 3 rolls... and a set of 8 dice in front of you. And here's Richard to tell us on how this game works. Richard: Thank you, Dayo. Players, in a moment, Dayo will be asking you a variety of questions. PAYOFF POINT: $25 $50 $75 $100 $500And as he asks a question, the Payoff Point will generate between any of these 5 amounts. When you buzz in, the Payoff Point will be determined for any dots of the dice that you have not used. Now, for each 1 right answer, you'll win $100. 2 in a row earns you $200, and 3 in a row earns you $300, and you will also win the right to use one of your rolls. CASINO [1]:
CASINO [2]:
CASINO [3]:
CASINO [4]:
CASINO [5]:
CASINO [6]:You also may notice that there are 6 "Casino"s represented by the faces of each die. And each "Casino" must hold at least $5,000, and it will be determined by the Banker picking out Money Bags that are each worth between $1000 to $9000 in $1000 increments. And during the break, the Banker held the following in each casino... CASINO [1]: [$8000]
CASINO [2]: [$7000]
CASINO [3]: [$5000]
CASINO [4]: [$3000] [$9000]
CASINO [5]: [$5000]
CASINO [6]: [$5000]That means that one lucky person could win up to $39,000 in cash! (Audience Cheers and Applause)I'll tell you more about how to play at the casinos in a bit. But players, I will warn you: Anytime you buzz in and give Dayo an INCORRECT answer, we will take one of your rolls away and put in the Penalty Box, and if there are any rolls in the Penalty Box, along with any unused dice from any of you, they will all be put at stake on a Sudden-Death question, so best of luck to all of you and good luck to you folks at home who are playing along with us. DK: Thanks, Richard. And one more thing players, the object of this game is to NOT be Last Place, or else you will be eliminated and all of that money that you have accumulated will be lost and will be placed into the Champion's Jackpot, which tonight, start off at: CHAMPION'S JACKPOT: $100,000(Cha-Ching!)$100,000. (Audience Cheers and Applause)And don't forget, there will be some skill and strategy and of course, luck throughout the entire game. Now, if we're ready, let's play the Vegas Dice Game. OK players, here we go with the first question, hands on buzzers. The moment you buzz in, you will have 24 hours to respond. QUESTION 1: What notorious serial killer is commonly believed to have murdered Catherine Eddowes in 1888?Matt: 20 Kevin: 25 Antonio: 6 James: 4 Magic #: 3 MATT | KEVIN | ANTONIO | JAMES | $500 | $500 | $500 | $500 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 |
(Buzz-In!)PAYOFF POINT: $25 $50 $75 [$100] $500And James buzzes in! What's your answer?

Jack the Ripper?
|
|
|
Post by dad90 on Dec 17, 2017 14:31:32 GMT -5
Jack the Ripper is the correct answer. (Audience Applause with Ding)MATT | KEVIN | ANTONIO | JAMES | $500 | $500 | $500 | $600 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 |
Catherine Eddowes died on September 30, 1888, and her body was found in London's Mitre Square near Whitechapel. The killer had removed various internal organs, including a kidney. Less than an hour before, according to most reconstructions of the crime, Elizabeth Stride had been murdered a short walk away, but her body had not been mutilated. Conventional wisdom holds that the killer--who has never been conclusively identified--was interrupted after killing Stride and thus sought out Eddowes. Sixteen days after this "double event", George Lusk of the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee received half a human kidney along with a note, ostensibly from the killer, saying he'd fried and eaten the other half. This letter, however, was signed: "Catch me when you can Mishter Lusk", as opposed to the more familiar "Jack the Ripper". OK, James, you got that question and that means that you get to use one of your rolls. But before you roll, let me quickly explain the lowdown. CASINO [1]: [$8000]
CASINO [2]: [$7000]
CASINO [3]: [$5000]
CASINO [4]: [$3000] [$9000]
CASINO [5]: [$5000]
CASINO [6]: [$5000]The object here is to roll as much numbers to that respective group within your maximum of 3 rolls. However, you must choose 1 group of that particular die and place it onto that casino one at a time. For example: If you roll something like this, you must choose that number and place it on that casino. For instance, I would choose 4 because there are 3 of those. CASINO [1]: [$8000]
CASINO [2]: [$7000]
CASINO [3]: [$5000]
CASINO [4]: [$3000] [$9000] JAMES: 4
CASINO [5]: [$5000]
CASINO [6]: [$5000]And then from there, the remaining dice will go back to you, and the Payoff Point comes in for each dot for any dice that have not been used, so a total of 21 and at $100 per point, that's an additional $2,100 added to your total. Now, Richard, let's reset the board. CASINO [1]: [$8000]
CASINO [2]: [$7000]
CASINO [3]: [$5000]
CASINO [4]: [$3000] [$9000]
CASINO [5]: [$5000]
CASINO [6]: [$5000]Ah! I forgot one more important thing: There's some strategy here. Sometimes, you may not want to go for the casino with the highest amount of money in there, because your opponents will get a chance to play their dice and roll theirs on the board and so forth. Now, here's the ultimate catch: If the number of your dice ties will the number of the dice of your opponents, those dice will cancel each other out. The person who has the most dice on that casino wins the biggest Money Bag on that casino. In Casino 4, only the player with the highest amount of dice will win $9000. The player in 2nd place will get $3000, in other words. With all that said James, take your first roll now. (James Rolls) Nice roll. (Audience Applause)Which one group would you like to place, James?

I will choose three because there are four of those
|
|
|
Post by dad90 on Dec 18, 2017 1:25:09 GMT -5
OK, so 4 of those 3's will go there... CASINO [1]: [$8000]
CASINO [2]: [$7000]
CASINO [3]: [$5000] JAMES: 4
CASINO [4]: [$3000] [$9000]
CASINO [5]: [$5000]
CASINO [6]: [$5000]Which leaves you with the 4 remaining dice that total 16, so at $100 per point, that's $1,600. MATT | KEVIN | ANTONIO | JAMES | $500 | $500 | $500 | $2200 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 2 |
And that's how the turn goes. James, you have 4 dice and 2 rolls remaining, and here we go with the next question. QUESTION 2: The Museo del Prado is also known for its 16th/17th century paintings ... but where is it?Matt: 28 Kevin: 30 Antonio: 12 James: 5 Magic #: 39 MATT | KEVIN | ANTONIO | JAMES | $500 | $500 | $500 | $2200 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 2 |
(Buzz-In!)PAYOFF POINT: $25 [$50] $75 $100 $500And Kevin buzzes in! What's your answer?

Post by dad90 on Dec 19, 2017 16:07:23 GMT -5
Two of the 2's will go at that area... CASINO [1]: [$8000]
CASINO [2]: [$7000] KEVIN: 2
CASINO [3]: [$5000] JAMES: 4
CASINO [4]: [$3000] [$9000]
CASINO [5]: [$5000]
CASINO [6]: [$5000]And the remaining 6 dice total 23, and at $50 per point, that's $1,150 added to your bank. MATT | KEVIN | ANTONIO | JAMES | $500 | $1750 | $500 | $2200 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 2 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 2 |
Now that you are getting the gist of it, it should be easier from here. Next question. QUESTION 3: Think quick! In the US, what month is Labor Day?Matt: 68 Kevin: 40 Antonio: 18 James: 7 Magic #: 29 MATT | KEVIN | ANTONIO | JAMES | $500 | $1750 | $500 | $2200 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 2 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 2 |
(Buzz-In!)PAYOFF POINT: [$25] $50 $75 $100 $500And Kevin buzzes in, and a little faster than Antonio! What's your answer?

Correct for $200! (Audience Applause with Ding)MATT | KEVIN | ANTONIO | JAMES | $500 | $1950 | $500 | $2200 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 2 | ROLLS: 3 | ROLLS: 2 |
It's the first Monday in September, and the 'unofficial' end of summer. Kevin, here's your second roll with 6 dice remaining. (Kevin Rolls) Which one group would you like to place, Kevin?
