Hello, dad90 here again, and here is an exclusive game show that is almost based on the UK Game Show "Tipping Point", and the "Las Vegas" Dice Board Game, designed by Rüdiger Dorn and published by Ravensburger in 2012.
Instead of Coins and a Coin Pusher, we're going to have a bucket of dice, that will determine your fate.
Objective:
Four contestants answer general knowledge questions to win rolls of their set of dice on various dice games.
Only the winner at the end has a chance to take home any money; the others leave with nothing except any non-cash prizes they may have won during the game.
Rules (For Rounds 1 and 2):
Each player has 8 dice and the object is to place them on 6 different "casinos" in the hopes of winning money from that casino.
At the start of the first round, each casino is randomly dealt a "banknote", ranging from $1,000 to $9,000 from the Bank. Each casino must hold at least $5,000.
If the banknote's worth is less than that, the casino is dealt an additional banknote, until the casino holds at least $5,000.
At the start of a round, each player is holding all of their eight dice. After the dice are thrown, the player must choose which casino they are betting on.
This is done by choosing a number and placing all the dice showing that number on the respective casino.
Betting is mandatory, there is no option to voluntarily pass a turn. A player can only pass a turn when he/she has no dice or rolls left for the round.
Once all players have bet some or all their dice, the winnings are dealt out. For each casino, the winnings go to the player who bet the most dice on that casino.
The majority has to be strict - on a draw/tie, the winnings go to the player with the next most dice, or if all players are equal, the winnings will go the Champion's Jackpot.
In case a casino holds multiple banknotes, the players bet on the largest banknote first, and then the smaller ones in order of decreasing value.
At the end of each round, the lowest-scoring contestant is eliminated from the game and forfeits all their money to the Champion's Jackpot, which starts at $100,000.
In the event of a tie for low score, or if all contestants are tied, a sudden-death toss-up is used to break the tie.
A correct buzz-in answer allows the contestant to advance, while a miss eliminates them.
Here's a video on how the Vegas Dice Game works:
Round 1:
The four contestants are each given three rolls and $500 in cash at the start of this round. A series of toss-up questions is asked, and the first contestant to buzz-in may answer. Each correct answer is worth $100, but answering 2 questions in a row awards $200 and 3 in a row awards $300. Also, their buzzer will determine the "Payoff Point" for any dice that HAVE NOT been used, with the values of $25, $50, $75, $100, or $500 for each dot/pip the dice have not been used.
A correct response allows the contestant to either play one of their own rolls or force an opponent to play one instead, based on their judgment of the standings of each casino.
Once a contestant runs out of rolls, they may not answer any more questions.
A contestant who buzzes-in with an incorrect answer loses one roll, which is placed into a penalty box pot. If the pot contains any lost rolls at the end of the round, along with any unused dice from any player, they are all put at stake on one final toss-up open to all contestants. An incorrect buzz-in answer on this question freezes the contestant out, and a new question is asked to the others. If the pot remains empty after all contestants have used their rolls, regardless of whether they used all of their dice or not, the round ends at that point.
Round 2: THE DOUBLE-UP ROUND
Each contestant answers 30 seconds of rapid-fire general knowledge questions and receives a roll for each correct answer, then uses these rolls in an attempt to win more money. A correct answer awards $200, but 2-in-a-row awards $400, and 3 or more correct answers in a consecutive chain awards $600. If they answer all of their questions correctly without passing or missing a question, that player is awarded with a $1,000 bonus.
The leader at the end of Round 1 decides who will play first; after the chosen contestant has finished their turn, the higher-scoring of the other two decides who will play next.
In case of a tie at any point, the first tied contestant who gave a correct answer in Round 1 has priority.
Also, the "Payoff Point" is $250 for each dot/pip from the dice that has NOT been used, and all casinos now hold at least $10,000 with additional Banknotes of $10,000, $15,000, and $20,000.
Round 3: HEAD-TO-HEAD SHOWDOWN
In Round 3, the two remaining contestants are asked six questions alternately, three to each contestant, and the leader at the end of Round 2 decides who will start.
If the contestants are tied going into this round, the one who had a higher score at the beginning of Round 2 decides who will start.
After hearing a question, the contestant in control may either answer or pass to the opponent.
The Dice Game for the Head-To-Head Showdown is Sic Bo. Each contestant gets 2 Betting Spots to play with, and they will bet on them immediately before the questions are asked.
Here's a video on how Sic Bo is played.
One additional Betting Spot is awarded for each correct answer, while a miss awards it to the opponent. Each player will bet between $1-$2500 on each Betting Spot and it is used as soon as it is earned.
After all of the Betting Spots have been used, each player then has one final Betting Spot called the "GRAND HAZARD", where they must wager AT LEAST HALF of their winnings at that point.
Then, the CHUCK-A-LUCK will roll the 3 dice one time and after the outcome and the money being distributed, the player with the higher winnings wins the game and the right to face the champion in Dayo's Dice Duel for the Champion's Jackpot.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: DAYO'S DICE DUEL
Based on "Dice Duel" from Let's Make A Deal. The day's winner will face off against the Champion for the right to win the Jackpot and then play the SUPER JACKPOT FINAL.
Two contestants (The Winner of the Day's Game and the Current Champion) battle each other, taking turns rolling a pair of dice. They first roll a single die and the player who rolls the higher number goes first. If a specific number (between 2 and 12) has been rolled, the contestant wins an amount of cash ($500-$5000) behind the number, with $5000 at 2 and 12. Once a number is rolled, neither contestant can roll that number again. The first time the contestant rolls a duplicate number, they are allowed to use a Re-Roll to roll again; however, the contestant can give the other contestant the win by taking a cash-buyout of $3000. If that player rolls a duplicate number without having a Re-Roll, that player is eliminated and loses all money accumulated. The other player becomes the champion and attempts to win the Champion's Jackpot, and moves on to play ROLL TO 100.
CHAMPION'S JACKPOT GAME: YAHTZEE
Before the show begins, each player must make their own "Wish List", which consists of:
2 - Trips (One Domestic, One International)
2 - Furniture (for various rooms of furniture)
1 - Electronic prize
1 - "For a Year" prize
1 - Vehicle (non-car type vehicle prizes)
1 - Jewelry
2 - Fun prizes (e.g. Spa, Pool Table, Bar Set, Golf Package)
In this version of Yahtzee, the Champion will determine their fate by choosing a number of their choice.
YAHTZEE OF YOUR NUMBER = CHAMPION'S JACKPOT
YAHTZEE = $50,000
FOUR OF A KIND = $20,000
FULL HOUSE = $10,000
LARGE STRAIGHT (2 THROUGH 6) = $5,000
SMALL STRAIGHT (1 THROUGH 5) = $2,000
THREE OF A KIND = $1,500
TWO PAIR = $1,000
The Champion has 2 rolls to make a Yahtzee, and must score at least 2 pair to earn at least $1,000. Otherwise, no bonus will be awarded.
SUPER JACKPOT FINAL: ROLL TO 100
Based on SNAKES AND LADDERS.
This board of "SNAKES AND LADDERS" will determine the winner's fate, with the Super Jackpot Star Space laying at #100. In order to play the Super Jackpot Feature, the contestant must land EXACTLY on #100.
If the contestant passes #100, he/she will win an extra $25,000 bonus. However, the player will now play with 4 dice.
Also, all 6's have been replaced by "Lightning", and it will punish the player based on how many "Lightning" appear.
1-3 = Warning
4 = Dead Die
5 = Lose 1/4 of your money
6-9 = Lose 1/2 of your money
10 = Lose All of your money + GAME OVER
The contestant is given a list of six categories and must answer one multiple-choice question from each, in any order; all questions have three answer options.
For each category, the contestant chooses whether to play for one (easy), two (medium), or three rolls of the dice (difficult).
On the Easy Question, all 3 answers are shown, and only one of the 3 answers is correct. On the Medium Question, 2 out of the 3 answers will be displayed. First, the contestant must eliminate one of the WRONG answers. If it is done so correctly, the remaining 3rd answer will be displayed and choose which of the remaining two is correct. On the Difficult Question, all 3 answers are shown, but this time, AT LEAST one of those answers is correct. There's also a possibility that 2 or even all 3 answers are right.
A correct answer awards the selected number of rolls, which the contestant immediately plays on the board. Also, the difficult questions protects a player from one "Lightning" strike.
Also, after each successful move, that player is opted to quit and walk away and take $100 for every space that's moved or roll again/choose another category. Every space that is divisible by 10 on the board (except 100) awards a prize, regardless of what happens throughout the game. #50, the Halfway Point, awards a brand-new car.
Ladder = Move a player up to a particular point.
Snake = Slides down to a particular point.
And if the dice wasn't bad enough, the dice HATES 7's, 11's and Doubles. If any of the 2 dice total 7, 11, or any of the 4 dice pairs, those dice cancel out.
If the overall total is a PRIME number, that player is going NOWHERE and will stay right where he/she is.
If the contestant fails to reach #100 after using up all six categories, they may either end the game at this point and keep all winnings, or trade the accumulated money for three more rolls, in which all "Lightning" are replaced by "-1". Also, all Ladders are now Snakes. The 7's, 11's and Doubles restriction is no longer applied, but the Prime Restriction is still in effect.
In the former case, the contestant is offered a chance to play the three rolls and see if they would have been able to land on the Super Jackpot Star Space or $10,000 for passing #100.
In the latter case, all spaces except #100 and Snakes become worthless, and the contestant forfeits all their money if that player misses landing on or passing #100.
