This episode will mark the return to NBC, and the last time where I will be sticking to the original rules. After this episode, I will continue the daytime version until the present day based on how the syndicated version worked.
Some rule changes here: -I will no longer do the opening spin at the start of each show. -Prizes are added to the wheel starting in Round 1. Only one Wheel Prize will be added per round, up to a maximum of three. -Landing on the Free Spin or a Wheel Prize now requires a correct letter to pick it up with no money offered. -All Wheel Prizes are removed from the wheel if a round begins as a Speed-Up.
Mark Liotta won $3,550 in 1990. I need two challengers so who's in?

*contestants rush to their podiums* Audience: WHEEL!...OF!...FORTUNE! *1989 Changing Keys* Jim Thornton: From Net Game Central, the famous Wheel is spinning, spinning, spinning, and the players will be winning, winning, winning! Because there's lots of cash and some fabulous prizes just waiting to be won on Wheel of Fortune! With our host, Kevin Kolsen, and our hostess, Vanna White! Me: Hi, everyone! Thank you for that welcome, Jim. That's right, we're back on NBC and I have a feeling we're here to stay. I can promise you that. I'm here, Vanna's here, Jim's here and the rest of the staff are here to give you Wheel of Fortune as they played in 1991. We of course can't do that without or contestants. Let's meet them, starting with Matt Riggenberg. Matt, give us the lowdown about yourself, please.

I'm from Queens, New York (go Mets and Jets!), and I enjoy playing video games in my spare time, as well as watching game shows.

Ah, I'm a New Yorker myself. Here's hoping the Mets will do better next year. Finally, we'll hear from Mark. First, we'll hear about how he did yesterday as our returning champion. He won $3,550, all cash.
*applause*
Ready to win more?

That's the spirit. We hope you can continue to win on Wheel of Fortune where $500 is the top dollar value and we're playing for cash. We're also playing for a prize we put on the wheel. Jim, what do we have? Jim: It's this comfy new rug! This Flokati rug measures 8 feet by 10 feet and is handcrafted from the softest wool so it's like stepping on a cloud. Makes a great fit anywhere in the house for a touch of class and luxury no matter how your feet feel: $898! Me: There it is on the wheel... Remember, you need to call a letter to pick that up now. Without further ado, here comes our first puzzle. *puzzle reveal chimes* The category is Nickname. Now, just before the show, we drew numbers to see who would start... And Matt, it's going to be you. Good luck!
