Our 30th episode of Crag: The Numbers Game is about to start. This series starts in another forum in, appropriately, 2013 -- so our fifth anniversary is on the horizon. We've made it this far thanks to you.
Frank Sartori returns with two wins and $84,100 in cash. As we welcome back Frank, who wants to challenge him?

Great of you to join us from America's dairy land. Good luck to you today. And good luck to you, Frank, as you defend your crown and look to add to your 84 grand and change. Much like the regular dice game of Crag, our game is all about numbers -- particularly the numbers you can roll on dice. The right answer to each question on our show is a number between 1 and 6 inclusive. Sometimes, we'll ask for the Roman numeral or ordinal equivalent of one of those numbers -- perhaps even a spelled-out word (between "one" and "six" inclusive). And we often have missing digit questions. I'll explain how they work later. (ding)Right now, we're starting off the match with a single digit question. And here it comes. Single digit question: When talking about the Mitsubishi corporation, "Mitsubishi" means how many diamonds in English? 45 grapebuy789 29 gameshowfan1986 95 randomizer.org (Frank buzzes in)Frank?

Frank says "Mitsubishi" means "3 diamonds". Is that right? (ding; audience applause)It is. Good job. Frank, as you know, with that correct answer, you've earned up to two rolls of our Crag dice. If you like what you come up with on your first roll, take the point value of the combination and we'll move on to the next roll. If you'd rather reroll, freeze up to two dice and reroll the rest. Over here on the big screen, we have the different ways you can score a lot of points. There are four different straights in the game of Crag worth 20 points each. The 1-2-3 make up a low straight; 4-5-6 a high straight; 1-3-5 an odd straight and 2-4-6 an even straight. It doesn't matter how they appear on the board. As long as they're all different and they're all low, high, odd or even, you're 20 points to the good. If you roll three of the same number, that's a triple for 25 points. And, remember, 13 *is* lucky in Crag. If you roll different numbers that total 13, I'll double the sum for 26 points. *However* -- if you have a pair of numbers plus an odd number that total 13, that's a Crag for 50 points. (audience cheers)(rolling sfx)The dice are now rolling, Frank; they lock into your buzzer one at a time. (ding)Stop on a 6. (ding)Stop on a 5. (ding) (scattered cheers) And stop on a 4. Good first roll, Frank. It's a high straight for 20 points. You may take the points if you'd like and end the round here. But if you think you can do better, you may freeze up to two of the dice and reroll the rest.

Taking the points. Very well. After Round 1: grapebuy789 gameshowfan1986Remember, players, it takes 100 points to win a game. If no one's reached 100 by the end of the tenth round, the player closer to 100 wins. Each game pays $2500 to the victor and $500 to the runner-up. First player to score $5000 wins the match -- and the try at the million in Super Crag. (audience cheers) New round starting now with this. Single digit question: When talking about R&B music, the word represented by the letter "B" has how many different vowels? 03 grapebuy789 60 gameshowfan1986 14 randomizer.org (Frank buzzes in)Frank?

Sounds like he's all over it and right. (ding; audience applause)And he is. Dice roll again for the champ. What will Frank add? (ding)Stop on a 5. (ding)Stop on a 2. (ding)And stop on a 3. Well -- that's not one of the combinations worth 20 or more. So we give you the sum of the dice in points if you stop here. Frank, want 10 points or a reroll?

Sure. We can do that. That means you want to hang on to the 5. Please freeze the 5, fellers. (freeze sfx)For the rest of this round, the 5 will not reroll. The other two dice will. (rolling sfx)And there they go. (ding)Stop on a 3. (ding)And stop on a 2. Well -- broke even. After Round 2: grapebuy789 gameshowfan1986Score's now 30 to nothing as we play our first missing digit question of the match. First, let's play a sample question. (ding)(Doug looks at card) Ah -- I see someone's trying to get on my good side today. On the board, we've posted the year my San Antonio Spurs won their most recent NBA championship. All you have to do is signal and tell us the missing digit in the year. (ding)And in this case, the missing digit in the year is a 2. We now clear the board and play the intended question in Round 3. Missing digit question: In 1997, Borge Ousland of Norway completed a trek across Antarctica alone. I'll show you the mileage for his journey -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)19 grapebuy789 54 gameshowfan1986 90 randomizer.org (Antonio buzzes in)Antonio?

(buzz)Out of time. Frank, this means you get a chance to steal. The Crag dice will offer the right answer and two wrong answers. It's up to you to choose the actual missing digit. (ding)Again the question. In 1997, Borge Ousland of Norway completed a trek across Antarctica alone. This is the actual mileage for his journey. Frank is the correct missing digit a 4, 5 or 6?

Champ's guessing Borge treked 1575 miles. Is that right? (buzz)Nope -- 1675 miles. Sorry about that. After Round 3: grapebuy789 gameshowfan1986Score remains 30 to nothing as we head to the Cragplex. (Cragplex stinger) (scattered cheers) Today, the Cragplex is playing a movie from 1999 that starred Bruce Willis -- and was directed by M. Night Shyamalan. We'll show you the title of the movie on the Cragplex's marquee -- with a spelled out ordinal number that's missing. Nope -- 1675 miles. Sorry about that. After Round 4: grapebuy789 gameshowfan1986 (Frasier's theme plays) Roll does pad the lead for the champ. Hear that music calling? Perhaps Antonio's luck will change with Scrambled Eggs. (scattered cheers) With the eggs, we've scrambled a word noting why Dumb Dora from The Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hours is getting dumber and dumber. Frank says 5 of the letters are in their right spots. Is *he* right? (buzz) No, sorry. Antonio, normally the Crag dice help in your chance to steal. But because we want you to keep an eye on the eggs... (ding)...three little dice appear above the eggs. One of the dice represents the right answer. I'll repeat the question. With the eggs, we've scrambled a word noting why Dumb Dora from The Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hours is getting dumber and dumber. Tell us how many of the eight letters are in their correct positions.Antonio, are there 3, 4 or 6 letters in the right spots?

(scattered groans) Antonio thinks, much to the disagreement of the crowd, 4 letters are positioned correctly. Is that right? (buzz)No -- 6 letters. There wasn't much scrambling of the word to begin with -- because the reason Dumb Dora is getting dumber is because she's also getting -- *stupider*. So -- just the P and D are out of order. After Round 5: grapebuy789 gameshowfan1986I can think of someone else who also put D and P out of order -- but -- (laughter from crew) -- let's just say I don't want to give a particular savage the acknowledgement. (more scattered laughter) Five rounds in the books. Score remains 40 to nothing in the champ's favor. On to a question about crime and punishment. Missing digit question: I'll show you the year the FBI issued its first ten most wanted list -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)20 grapebuy789 45 gameshowfan1986 99 randomizer.org(Antonio buzzes in)Antonio?

(time passes as dice still roll -- which later stop suddenly) (buzz buzz)Didn't stop the dice in time, Antonio. That means the round ends automatically -- and the dice give you the lowest possible score for a correct answer -- 4 points. After Round 6: grapebuy789 gameshowfan1986Three ones would've made 25 -- so that's why they stopped on 1, 1 and 2. Still a close game as we go on to a question about sports in Round 7. Step up to the plate for a missing digit question about baseball. I'll show you the number of regular-season home runs Hank Aaron hit during his legendary career -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)07 grapebuy789 46 gameshowfan1986 29 randomizer.org
