(1978 CS Intro) ERIN HARRIS: Aces are high, deuces are low! Call it right, and win the dough...on Card Sharks! (1978 CS Theme) And now, here's the host of Card Sharks, Bill Skinner!Thank you, Erin Harris! Welcome to another edition of Card Sharks, and we have our defending champion back with us today having a one-day total of $15,700, it's mringgenberg! And here to challenge him is grapebuy789, welcome to the show. And let's give a warm welcome to our two dealers: Amber Lancaster, who will deal the cards for mringgenberg, and Tiffany Coyne, who will do the same for grapebuy789. Now, while they're dealing the cards, I will tell you that the objective is to guess a series of five cards correctly before your opponent does, and as always, we play best-of-three where the winner of two matches plays the Money Cards round at the end of the show. mringgenberg, as the champion, you get to answer the first question of the day. We asked 100 car dealers: "Have you been bribed by potential customers to go below the sticker price on a car, and actually done it?"How many of them said yes?

I'm going to say it is a little bit higher.

And grapebuy789 says higher. ding! The actual number of car dealers who have been bribed by potential customers to go below the sticker price on a car, and actually done it, is... ding-ding-ding!...35, so it is higher, and grapebuy789 will get to play his cards first. Let's see the base, Tiffany. (A ♠) What do you know, an Ace! Now you can play this card or change it, though I have no reason to believe you will.

I can't lose with an Ace. Lower!

Lower than an Ace?
(4 ⋄)
ding!
Of course! Now you can keep playing, or freeze here and go to a new question. What would you like to do?
Post by grapebuy789 on Oct 3, 2017 15:06:55 GMT -5
I'll play on. I'll go higher.

Post by Bill Skinner on Oct 3, 2017 22:34:46 GMT -5
Higher than a 4?
(7 ♠)
ding!
Right again! You're halfway to a win here. Now would you like to continue or freeze?

I'll freeze.
Post by Bill Skinner on Oct 4, 2017 9:34:35 GMT -5
And we freeze at the 7, and get into a new question. grapebuy789, you will also answer this time. We asked 100 NRA members: "After the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas, do you think there should be tougher laws on gun control?"How many of them said yes?
Post by grapebuy789 on Oct 4, 2017 15:48:32 GMT -5
This has been a debate for the longest time. I'll say 65.
Post by mringgenberg on Oct 4, 2017 16:30:50 GMT -5
I think it'll be a bit higher.
Post by Bill Skinner on Oct 4, 2017 22:39:24 GMT -5
Make that 65 for grapebuy789... ding!...and higher for mringgenberg. ding! The actual number of NRA members who said that there should be tougher laws on gun control is... ding-ding-ding!...87, so it is higher, and mringgenberg will get to play his cards this time. Now let's see his first card, Amber. What is it? (8 ♠) It's an 8! Do you want to play that 8, or change it?
Post by mringgenberg on Oct 4, 2017 23:08:52 GMT -5
Change It!
Post by Bill Skinner on Oct 4, 2017 23:12:41 GMT -5
And we change the 8 to...
(Q ♣)
...a Queen! That's a little bit better, so let's play it right now. Is the next card higher or lower than a Queen?
Post by mringgenberg on Oct 4, 2017 23:59:52 GMT -5
Lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on Oct 5, 2017 9:18:34 GMT -5
Lower than a Queen?
(K ♥)
buzz!
Oh, rare bad luck; it was a King! So grapebuy789 will play his cards this time, but he must do so from the 7. Is the next card higher or lower?
Post by grapebuy789 on Oct 5, 2017 9:21:45 GMT -5
Lower
Post by Bill Skinner on Oct 5, 2017 9:26:47 GMT -5
Lower than a 7?
(3 ♠)
ding!
Yes, and now you are just one card away from a win. Would you like to continue or freeze?

Higher!
Post by Bill Skinner on Oct 6, 2017 9:02:34 GMT -5
This is for the win; if you don't get it right, we will go into our next question. Now, is it higher than 3? (6 ♥)ding-ding-ding!(1978 CS Win Cue) So the first match goes to grapebuy789, as does $1,000 for that win. (1978 CS Theme) But when we come back, we'll have a new round to play and give mringgenberg a chance to catch up. Stay right there.

We're back with a new round of questions. This time, grapebuy789 will get the first question of the round, and we asked 100 sports fans:
"Are you getting tired of superteams forming in the NBA?"
How many of them said yes?

I don't know much about sports, but I have to give an answer. Ummmmm.....I'm going to guess 54.
