I am Bill McDee, age 50, I live near Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania and have for the past 20 years with my wife of 26 years and our 18 year old son who will be leaving for college in a few days from now.
I have been gainfully employed for the past 18 and a half years as a data entry clerk for a pharmaceutical research firm.
In my spare time I enjoy watching vintage television programs on DVD or online, spending time with my 2 little grand nieces, and do a bit of writing as well from time to time.

Since we will be helping my son move this Saturday, August 26th, we'll be busy pretty much all of Saturday and I probably will not be on here much if at all. Friday I'll probably be on very limited as we'll want to spend time with our son, plus we have a new dryer being delivered to us on Friday as well.

[NOTE FROM DOUG: Due to Bill's aforementioned absence, downs will be untimed until at least Sunday night.]
Well, we thank you for taking time out from all of that to join us back here at the dice table. Good luck to you -- and good luck to Matt. Matt, please tell us something about yourself.

(production assistant slips and falls in audience) Woah, you okay over there? (production assistant says "yes") One of our players works at a grocery store and I thought we were going to have a cleanup in aisle two. (scattered laughter from the crowd) As long as you can laugh this off like Jim Peck on another dice game, we'll proceed. (production assistant says "I'm good") If Sparky's good, we'll proceed. Take a look at the game board, please, Bill and Matt. Those are the lucky numbers in play for every game in our match -- 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10. Attached to five of those numbers are cash awards. Anytime your dice roll totals one of those lucky numbers, you seize control of that cash award. However, the remaining number is the luckiest of them all. It's our winning point. And the winning point in the first game we're about to play is... (drum beats; cha-ching)...the number 10. Roll a 10 in any combination and you'll win the cash you've seized *plus* the money in the pot. At the start of every game, we seed the pot with $1500 -- just as we have right now -- and it could go up by as much as $500 on a particular roll. More on that later. Now you'll notice 7 is missing. In this game, any roll of 7 causes this to happen. (danger zone cue; lights briefly flicker in certain parts of studio)That's the signal we're entering the danger zone. The complexion of the game will change from there. More about *that* later. Now -- to get control of the dice, you must correctly answer a toss-up question. If you anticipate and you're wrong, the roll automatically goes to your opponent. So -- Bill, Matt hands on the buzzers, please -- because here comes your first question. Ruta, rupee or resh. What is the official currency of India? 26 billmcdee 62 mringgenberg 93 random.org (Matt buzzes in) Matt?

Rupee!

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Aug 24, 2017 21:01:33 GMT -5
Rupee is right on. (audience applause)Matt, this first game can end on just one roll of the dice. If you can roll double fives -- or a 6 and a 4 -- you instantly bank $1500. (scattered woah) Got close -- the 9. That's good for... (ding)...$375. Matt, you'll win the $375 plus the $1500 in the pot if you win the next question and roll a 10. First, let's see who wins the next question. True or false: "Love Potion No. 9" was a top five hit for The Clovers. 37 billmcdee 38 mringgenberg 58 random.org (Matt buzzes in) Matt?

'Fraid it peaked at #23 for The Clovers. So it's false A remake by The Searchers made the top five in the mid 1960s, though. Good news for Bill. He gets to roll. (chimes; audience applause)And it's boxcars. Any roll of 2, 3, 11 or, in this case, 12 is a wild roll in Lucky Numbers. Anytime that happens in the main games... (drum beats; cha-ching) ...we stuff the pot with an extra $500. This also means an extra roll of the dice. So, Bill, roll 'em again, please. (danger zone cue; lights flicker in studio)Well, there's one of the bad rolls -- a combination of 7. Gentlemen, for the rest of this game, the next roll of 7 means instant victory -- for your opponent. A 10, however, is still the winning roll. So, if you win the next question, you may roll the dice or pass. Let's see who gets the decision with this. Certain business owners in Italy would encourage masticating -- but it means your eating food. "No" is right. (audience applause)Okay, Bill, you got us in this mess -- but you can get us out of it. If you roll a 10, the first game and at least $2000 are headed your direction. But if you roll a 7, you lose the game and more than $2300 will go to Matt. You could pass to Matt. A 10 for him wins and a 7 for him means you win. Who's gettin' the dice?

Passing to Matt since it's twice as likely to roll a 7 than a 10.

Okay, Matt. The dice are yours whether you like 'em or not. You'll really like 'em if you roll a 10. But it's close to the losing roll of 7. The 8 keeps you in the game and *could* make you... (ding) ...$300 richer -- along with 375 and the pot. Next question. Lisa Bonet, Jasmine Guy or Cree Summer. (Just a quick reminder that today, Saturday, August 26th is moving day for my son to college. I may be on later this evening but if not, certainly by tomorrow. Thank you for your patience everybody.)

Oh, should've guessed Lisa Bonet. Lisa and Lenny married in '89; they're since divorced. Matt, dice are yours to roll or pass. Remember, the winning point's 10. The 7 will instantly mean victory for the opposition.

(scattered laughter and applause) (Bill rolls) At least you didn't take a dive -- but this roll is worth 5. (more laughter and applause) We may create a rhyming dice game before this is done. The 5's worth.. (ding) ...$375 to the champ. That and the pot will go to you, Bill, if you win the game. On to another question. He thinks he'll win with this roll this time. Let's see what happens. (Bill rolls) And it's a 10! (ASB win cue plays; audience applause) Pot's contents and that $375 cash award head for your bank, Bill. And that means you're leading 2375 to nil. Ya know, on another dice game I hosted, I often threw in rhyming phrases. I wonder if I should revisit that. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Crew's already telling me no. We play as many games as time will allow. Player who's banked more money when time's called wins the match -- and the chance to win more than $150,000 in cash and merchandise in our main event. Matt, plenty of time to catch up. A new winning point and a new game -- after this. (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)

(HR87 theme plays) A source for many of the questions we use on Lucky Numbers is the 22-volume World Book Encyclopedia -- which comes with the research guide and index volume. Today's players are receiving some fine gifts. Bill Kennedy, please tell us about one of 'em. Bill: $1000 in Sebastian gift cards. His and hers shopping sprees from their gift set or catalog. Featuring a selection of grooming, beauty and bath essentials. The image of fashion from Sebastian. Bill: We'll be back with more of Lucky Numbers -- after this message.

(ASB cue plays; audience applauds) ABC's Lucky Numbers is back -- where Bill just added to his stack. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Bill just won our first game and $2375. Matt's yet to score. But it's a new segment and a new game. So anything can still happen. What's about to happen now is a new winning point. Feast your eyes, players, on the number... (drum beats; cha-ching) ...8. Roll an 8 and you'll instantly bank $1500 -- and any other cash awards you seize control of. Remember the wild rolls of 2, 3, 11 and 12 -- which add cash to the pot and give you another shot at the dice. Players, this next question's a little long -- so play carefully. True or false: On "The Jeffersons", Sherman Hemsley played the part of a successful businessman. His character owned restaurants. 91 billmcdee 59 mringgenberg 12 random.org (Matt buzzes in) Matt?
