Episode 2/6 First Elimation Round
Gameshow Marathon time, although Bryan told me he couldn't do any prizes for this episode, I'll have a go at providing the prizes.
We need Matt and James to sign up first, we need a replacement for Hunter as he's gone (Until further notice).
The one who wants to have a go, can decide to change Hunter's charity which is at the moment: Autism Speaks or stick with it, please note that when you PM me your name.
The gameshow this time? Well, I bet you know it.
From this episode on, one player will be out of the tourment, so in this episode and the next, the two highest scoring players move on.
So who wants to play against Matt and James?

And now we need a replacement contestant to fill Hunter's place. If you want to play Gameshow Marathon, please PM me your name and charity (if you want to stick with Autism Speaks, you can, just note that in your PM). If we have more than one person wanting to play against Matt and James, a random selection will take place and be annouced before the show begins.

Bring it, he says, but can he bring the win to his charity? We'll find out sooner or later, let's not waste any more time chatting, let's start playing, 20 to start. (The board initalizes) You know how $ale works by now, add 5 for a correct answer, lose 5 for a wrong answer. Here's your first five questions of Round 1: 1: Which two countries adopted the Euro as their currency in 2008? 2: A Grammy is an award to recognize outstanding achievement in what industry? 3: What word is used to describe a theatre that is closed? 4: The British version of 'Match Game' was called: Blankety Blank, who first hosted the programme from 1979 until 1983? 5: In golf, how do you get a Turkey?
(PM me your five answers and a buzzcode with each one from 1 to 30. Good Luck!)

(Let's see how you do!) 1: Which two countries adopted the Euro as their currency in 2008? (Buzzcode: 24) (Greg buzzes in) picosong.com/WQpd/Greg? Greg: France and Italy. Ooh, so close! Believe it or not, it's actually Malta and Cyprus. I hate to see a bad start, so docking off 5. 2. A Grammy is an award to recognize outstanding achievement in what industry? (Buzzcode: 20, Matt buzzes in) picosong.com/WQpd/Matt? Matt: Music. Music is correct and you got yourself $5. (ding) 3. What word is used to describe a theatre that is closed? (Buzzcode: 9, Greg buzzes in) picosong.com/WQpd/Greg, to redeem yourself? Greg: Shuttered. Wrong, Dark. 4. The British version of 'Match Game' was called: Blankety Blank, who first hosted the programme from 1979 until 1983? (Buzzcode: 13, Greg buzzes in) picosong.com/WQpd/Greg? Greg: Terry Wogan. Got it. (Ding) 5. In golf, how do you get a Turkey? (Buzzcode: 29, (James has no buzzcode for the question so counts as a PASS, just a warning.) Anyone? (Time passes) (BUZZ) Three birdies in a row, that's the first five questions done. (Instant Bargain cue) Matt, you have $25, you can have a go at buying this instant bargain, Bryan, what have you got? (BGM plays as Bryan starts sleeping on the chair) Bryan: *Suddenly waking up* Huh..? Oh! Sorry! This is a La-Z-Boy Morgan recliner, comes with manual control and comfortable for your home, this is worth $549, but on Sale of the Century, it's just worth: (applause) So... Matt, what do you think? Want to buy it? It'll reduce you back to 20 and tied for first with James.

picosong.com/WQpd/(Cheering) Alright, now it's time for our first Fame Game, on Gameshow Mararthon, we've tweaked the rules a bit, Fame Games happen inbetween rounds, so if you're last, you can still take the lead. We're gonna do it what Greg does nowadays on his $ale, we'll put 6 clues relating to either a person, place, thing or anything so watch out. Buzzers at the ready. These 6 clues are to do with a famous *gameshow*. (The Puzzle Board appears on screen) (GAMESHOW) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. (PM me a bid number of clues and a buzzcode from 1 to 30, whoever comes closest to the buzzcode will have their clues entered. Good luck.)

(Buzzcode: 17) Here we go! 1. Letters, 2. Stoppers, 3. Numbers- picosong.com/WQpd/Greg? I'll read them once more. 1. Letters, 2. Stoppers, and 3. Numbers. What is the gameshow I'm looking for? Be careful, we've only showed three clues, if you get it wrong and we'll add one more clue for either Matt or James to buzz in and steal the chance.

Lingo?! (Muitiple dings) (short applause) (LINGO) 1. Letters 2. Stoppers 3. Numbers 4. A bit like Bingo. 5. 6. Other clues would've been... 5. Chuck Woolery 6. Ralph Andrews So, you got a first crack at our fame game board, but we're doing it the original way, 9 celebrity faces, let's see who we got in this lineup. Bryan...? Bryan: We've got a special lineup, first, in the top left, Larry Emdur. Sam: From the Price is Right in Australia. Bryan: Centre top, we have the late Peter Tomarken. (Cheering) Sam: From Press Your Luck, next? Bryan: Wink Martindale in top right. Sam: From High Rollers and well known in Gambit, next? Bryan: Centre Left, some may know him, Ryan Stiles. Sam: From the Drew Carey Show and 'Whose Line is it Anyway?', next one please. Bryan: Our centre sqaure today, we don't want to forget the late Jim Perry! Peter Tomarken, host of Press Your Luck, what does he have? Burton: Behind Peter Tomarken is.... (the picture flips to reveal.......) Burton: A trip to Acapulco! (applause) Burton: Acapulco, a beach resort town on Mexico's Pacific coast, is set on a large bay backed by high-rises and the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains. Made famous by the jet set in the 1950s and ’60s, it's known for its high-energy nightlife, beaches and golf. From its iconic La Quebrada cliff, professional divers plunge 40m into a small ocean cove every day and night. This prize is worth: Not the money card this time but still early days. Shall we wrap up Round 1? Let's do another three questions, a possible $15 can be won. Also folks, as you can see, the layout is 5 questions first, then instant Bargain, Fame game and now three questions to end the round, just out of interest. Anyway, I'll stop chatting and start asking: 1. In "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", who got stuck in a TV and then reduced to tiny? 2. In "Of Mice of Men", at the ranch where George and Lennie are going to work, which character did they encounter first? 3. The Peso was the current currency for numberous countries. Name two countries that have the Peso to this day?
(PM me your three answers and a buzzcode with each one from 1 to 30. Good Luck!)

1. In "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", who got stuck in a TV and then reduced to tiny? (buzzcode: 7, Greg hits a bullseye!) picosong.com/WQpd/Greg? Greg: Mike Teevee. Correct. 2. In "Of Mice of Men", at the ranch where George and Lennie are going to work, which character did they encounter first? (Buzzcode: 2) picosong.com/WQpd/James? James: Curley? Ooh, no, wrong, it's Candy, Curley is encountered second. 3. The Peso was the current currency for numberous countries. Name two countries that have the Peso to this day? (Buzzcode: 7) picosong.com/WQpd/James? James: Mexico and Philippines. That's correct. Well, that's the end of the round. We're back where we started: $20 each, what's going to happen in the next round when we introduce the Cashcard? Find out after the break! (Intermission)

(Fade in) Thanks for tuning back to Gameshow Marathon, we're on $ale and at the moment everyone's tied at $20.
It could change in this round so good luck.
Round 2 starts off with 5 questions, here we go!
Q1: In the Japanese Yen, what's the lowest banknote to this day? Q2: How do you say 'Where do you live?' in German? Q3: Peter Falk was well known for starring as which fictional detective? Q4: In a standard game of Monopoly, what's the highest banknote? Q5: What's this symbol called: * ?
(PM me your five answers and a buzzcode with each one from 1 to 30. Good Luck!)

Q1: In the Japanese Yen, what's the lowest banknote to this day? (buzzcode: 26) picosong.com/WQpd/James? James: 0.05. I think you misread the question there, it was banknotes not coins, it's actually 1,000. Q2: How do you say 'Where do you live?' in German? (Buzzcode: 17) picosong.com/WQpd/James again. James: Wo lebst du. As they say in Gremany: Richtig! (Subtitled: Correct!) Back on 20. Q3: Peter Falk was well known for starring as which fictional detective? (buzzcode: 9) picosong.com/WQpd/Greg? Greg: Columbo. (In a 'Columbo' accent) Well you gotcha yourself a fiver. (Normal voice) Now you're ahead. Q4: In a standard game of Monopoly, what's the highest banknote? (Buzzcode: 15) picosong.com/WQpd/Greg? Greg: $500. Right, you're still in the lead. Q5: What's this symbol called: * ? (Buzzcode: 7, Greg hits a BULLSEYE!) picosong.com/WQpd/Greg? Greg: Asterisk. With that, you just done a streak of three correct answers. (applause) (Instant Bargain cue) And you got a chance to buy a great item, Bryan? (Fitness BGM plays as a model exercising on the bike.) Bryan: This is a NordicTrack CX1055 elliptical machine or exercise bike as you call it, comes with ajustable speed and time, it's sure to give your legs a workout! While this is worth just a grand, at $ale, it's yours for just: (Applause) Greg, what do you think of this bargain?

|
Post by palmer7 on Jul 11, 2017 10:17:09 GMT -5
At $10? A $1,000 elliptical machine for $10? Is that the best you can do? I don't think it is. Tell you what, I have a $15 lead. If you throw in $500 cash and drop the price to $5, I'll consider it.

Well, tell you what, I'll drop the price by a dollar per correct answer you gave me during the five questions in Round 2, so you gave me three correct answers and in return, I'll drop the price to $7 and I'll include that $500 you wanted. But, since you're playing for your charity, maybe I'll add a extra $500 on top of the 500 you wanted, so $1,000 in cash. So let's recap, I'm selling this for seven, it'll include the $1,000 in cash. Do we have a deal? (Audience shouting suggestions)

picosong.com/WQpd/(applause) And he's still in the lead by $8. So time for another Fame Game puzzle, Buzzers at the ready. These clues are to do with a board game. (The Puzzle Board appears on screen) (BOARD GAME) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. (PM me a bid number of clues and a buzzcode from 1 to 30, whoever comes closest to the buzzcode will have their clues entered. Good luck.)
