On our last episode, koopakid17 successfully defended his championship, and now has a two-day total of $49,600. We need him and a challenger to sign in so that the show can begin.

(1978 CS Open) ERIN HARRIS: Aces are high, deuces are low! Call it right, and win the dough...on Card Sharks! (1978 CS Theme) And now, here's the host of Card Sharks, Bill Skinner!Thank you once again, Erin Harris, and welcome another exciting edition of Card Sharks! Back for the third time is our current champion, koopakid17, with a total of $49,600 coming into this game, but challenging him is mringgenberg. Also, let's meet our two dealers, Amber Lancaster and Tiffany Coyne! Amber will deal the cards for koopakid17, and Tiffany will do the same for mringgenberg. The objective is to guess more cards correctly than your opponent, and all games are best-of-three. Whoever wins two matches will then play the Money Cards at the end of the show. Once again, we will start with koopakid17, our defending champion here. I will ask a series of questions that will determine who will play their cards first. As always, we're looking for a number from 1 to 100, as we asked 100 people these questions before the show. After you guess your number, your opponent must decide whether the actual number is higher or lower, and whoever is closer to the right answer will play first. Now let's get to our first question of the day. koopakid17, we asked 100 people: "Do you think Donald Trump will be impeached as President of the United States?"Wow, we're having a field day with Trump on this show, aren't we? Ever since he started running last year, we've had lots of questions about him on our episodes. Anyway, how many people said that he will be impeached?

I don't get why people think this will happen but there are some crazies out there who will believe what they want. I'll say 30.

It's going to be a little lower.

Post by Bill Skinner on May 31, 2017 22:25:22 GMT -5
So it's 30 for koopakid17... ding!...and lower for mringgenberg. ding! And the actual number of people who think that Trump will be impeached is... ding-ding-ding!...42, so it is not lower, and koopakid17 will play his cards first. Let's see what you will start out with. Amber? (3 ♠) It's a 3! Now you can play it right away, or change it. What's your pleasure?

Higher than a 3?

Yes, it's a 5! Are you going to continue or freeze?

Lower than a Jack?
(9 ♠)
ding!
Yes, and you're now one card away from sweeping the round, so are you going for it, or are you going to freeze?

Tough choice... I'll freeze!

Post by Bill Skinner on Jun 1, 2017 22:37:58 GMT -5
Alright, we'll freeze at the 9, and get into the second question of the round. This time, it is mringgenberg who will answer. We asked 100 car collectors: "Are cars from discontinued manufacturers more or less valuable than the ones from those that still exist?"By discontinued manufacturers, I'm referring to makes that have gone out of business, like Mercury, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Plymouth, those kinds of cars. With that in mind, how many said that the cars from those long-gone manufacturers are more valuable?

I think it might be higher than that. Our family owned an Oldsmobile that was worth $1,000 when we junked it last year. It was as old as me.

And it's higher for koopakid17. ding! And the actual number of people who said that cars from brands that are no longer existing are more valuable than from those that are still around is... ding-ding-ding!...82, so it is higher, and koopakid17 will start from the 9 he froze at earlier. Are you going to play it right now or change it?

Change the 9 to what?
(10♥)
A 10! For the win, is the last card higher or lower?

Lower!

Post by Bill Skinner on Jun 3, 2017 23:02:54 GMT -5
If it's lower than a 10, you will take the first round and go for the sweep in the next one. For the win, is the last card lower than 10? Show us! (6 ♥)ding-ding-ding!(1978 CS Win Cue) You did it! The first round goes to koopakid17, and he will have a chance to win yet another shot at the Money Cards. (1978 CS Theme) But this game is a best-of-three, so it's far from over, and we'll give mringgenberg a chance to tie it up when we return after this.

We're back with a new round of questions, and koopakid17 is up 1-0. If he wins this game, he will move on to the Money Cards for the third time in a row, but mringgenberg will try to prevent that from happening. This time, the challenger will answer first, and here's the first question for the round, to which we asked 100 people:
"Which is better: Instagram or Snapchat?"
How many of those people said Instagram is better?

I wouldn't know, I don't really make too much use of either. I'll go with the odds and say lower.

|
|
Post by Bill Skinner on Jun 5, 2017 22:46:19 GMT -5
And koopakid17 says lower. ding! The actual number of people who prefer Instagram over Snapchat is... ding-ding-ding!...74, and it is lower, so koopakid17 will play his cards first, with the chance to sweep. First up, Amber, what's his base card? (3 ♠) A 3! Now you can either play it as is, or you can change it in hopes of getting a better card. What would you like to do?
