If you answer this question correctly... you'll have a $200 lead over your opponent. Here's this question... SPELLING BEE - $400
Who sang the title song for the 1978 suspense film "Eyes of Laura Mars"?For $400, spell the last name of this recording artist.

I hate to tell you this, Kevin... but the judge is right. You must SPELL the last name of the recording artist. Matt... for $400, please spell the last name of the recording artist.
*My apologies for that error, everyone.

Now THAT is how you spell STREISAND. Matt got it right for 400. [APPLAUSE][DING]Whenever there's a Spelling Bee question, you must answer the question in the form of SPELLING. Sorry that the judge have rejected your answer, Kevin. I'm sure you'll remember it on your next turn. Right now, it's Matt's turn to spin those wheels. Here we go... *Matt pulls lever* [SPINS WHEEL]World Geography... Joker... Spelling Bee. Which category do you want to select, Matt?

I'm calling shenanigans.
He technically DID spell the name just by typing it out. When you buzzed Kevin's answer, you should have thrown out the question. Instead, you basically rigged the game in Matt's favor by letting the question stand when the spelling was already there for everyone to see.
These spelling categories don't really work on these message boards - why should you have to add some freaking dashes for it to be considered spelling?

I say we play the rest if this game as is. If I lose, invite me back for episode two and after this, no more spelling categories.

(stop tape)
See, what really happened was that Tony should've worded the question differently. Although, to be fair, Tony asked for the last name to be spelled, not the full name to be given. Kevin didn't follow instructions.
In the interest of fairness, the whole category will have to be replaced. Kevin keeps his trip, though.

I say we play the rest of this game as is. If I lose, invite me back for episode two and after this, no more spelling categories. Fixed that for you. Agreed. Ultimately, it's up to Tony as to what he wants to do.

Because it's the reason why they call this category SPELLING BEE, Evan. I understand that you're mad, but I've seen this show many times.
BTW, this is an example of how the Spelling Bee question works in The Joker's Wild. Watch...

And Greg, producer, is right. If Kevin loses in this game, he'll return in the next game. However, he STILL keeps the trip no matter what happens. Now let's get back to the game. Matt, please select a category.

Italy is not right either. The correct answer was SWITZERLAND. Before you take a spin, we'll pause for a commercial. When our program returns, you'll get your chance to spin the wheel. We'll come back with more of The Joker's Wild in just a matter of minutes. Don't go away. [COMMERCIAL CUE][CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*fade to commercial*

*back to studio* [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Welcome back to The Joker's Wild. During the commercial break, the judge, our creative consultants and myself had to do a huddle on the category situation that we had since we've went on the air. We've decided to do two things-- 1, we'll give Kevin the $400. And finally... there's a new rule in the SPELLING BEE category. And just like Unscrambled Eggheads, it's a visual category. We'll show you the three possible answers that you'll see right behind me. After giving the clue or question, you tell us what is the correct spelling of that answer. Before we continue the game... I would to make an announcement for Kevin and Matt. If one of you is a champion and win five straight games, this is what you could win. Johnny...?
