After two pilots, here is the 1975 edition of Wheel of Fortune! Several things to keep in mind here:
-Three or four rounds will be played. If Round 3 does not go into Speed-Up, there will be a Round 4 which may or may not end with the Final Spin, time pending. -The red contestant starts Round 1, yellow starts Round 2 and blue starts Round 3, looping back to red for Round 4 if necessary. -The top dollar values are now $500 in Round 1, $750 in Round 2 and $1,000 after that. -Buy a Vowel is present throughout the entire game. -Free Spin is now only present in Round 1. -The specific category is now announced for each puzzle. -The minimum for solving a puzzle is $100. -Every prize is now on one of three showcases that contestants choose while the number drawing portion takes place. -For the Speed-Up, you are not allowed to call a vowel for each of your first two turns (six turns total). If your letter is in the puzzle, you will have three guesses or the option to pass with no penalty for a missed deadline. -There will be returning champions. Because the limit was reduced from five games to three in 1977, the contestant who wins the 1976 show will be grandfathered to the five-win limit.
I've also added a poll for the hour-long version of the show from November 1975 through January 1976. If I get six "Yes" answers before this show is complete, I will host an hour-long episode. Otherwise, I'll continue with the 1976 show.
With that out of the way, I need three players. Who's in?

(Side note: I got six votes on the poll so my next show will be an hour-long episode)
*Big Wheels stars up*
Jim Thornton: Look at this brand new Nissan Versa!
This rejuvenating, relaxing spa!
A trip to Moscow!
This old-fashioned hot dog cart!
This game table!
A trip to Hong Kong!
And an electric automobile!
These are just some of the many exciting prizes available. Total retail value of all these prizes: more than $91,000! And are yours to buy today on Wheel of Fortune. And now, here's your host: Kevin Kolsen!
Me: Thank you, Jim! Welcome to Wheel of Fortune! This is the first of what I hope will be another successful run of Wheel's yesteryear progression. This is a new take on the daytime version which includes, of course, Susan Stafford!
*cheers and applause as Susan walks on stage*
Susan: And thank you, Kevin, for that. Let's get ready to play Wheel of Fortune with these as our three contestants.
First up, we have a contestant from Pennsylvania whose hobbies include reading and writing: Michael Koontz!
Our second contestant is a cashier from Council Bluffs, please welcome Matt Riggenberg!
Finally, we have an avid game show fan and a father from the Delaware Valley: Bill McDee!
Me: Before we begin our game, we'll get to know our players a bit more starting on the left podium. Michael, you also host a version of Wheel centered around 1975. How does it feel now that you're to play one instead?

That's good. I know I've had a great time playing on your vintage version and I hope you do as well. Next up is Matt. Can you tell us some early memories you've had of watching Wheel?

When I was little, I had a teddy bear with a T-Shirt that said "I Heart Vanna".

That would be a fond memory indeed. I admit, Wheel of Fortune was one of the sources of me learning the alphabet. Finally, we'll come to Bill McDee. I don't mean to bring up any competition but are there any daytime game shows you fondly remember watching when you were growing up?

The Joker's Wild, The Price is Right and Gambit all debuted 2 days before I began Kindergarten, and I remember them with great fondness. Just a long list of game shows that I adored and still do, including of course, Wheel of Fortune.

Thank you. Have to say The Price is Right holds a place in my heart as well during summers and breaks from school. Let's take a look at the Wheel of Fortune! *spins wheel* The top dollar value for our first round of play is $500 but look out for that black space Bankrupt. Don't hit that or you lose your cash but not your merchandise because once you buy a prize, it's yours to keep. This is our first puzzle: I'll help you out by saying the category to this puzzle is a Thing. Just before the show, we drew numbers to see who would start. Michael, you're in control. Good luck!

BUY A VOWEL
Michael, I'm afraid with no money you can't follow the instructions on the wedge. That means we have to skip over to Matt. Ready to go, Matt?
