After Shopper's Bazaar came the first Wheel of Fortune pilot! Don't worry, no Kookie Byrnes and no drinking on this version.  Here are some ground rules for this version:

-Four rounds will be played with top values of $350, $500, $750 and $1,000 respectively.
-$25 is now the minimum value on the wheel.
-Free Vowel and Your Own Clue are retired and Bankrupt is added to the wheel.
-Buy a Vowel is only present from Round 2 onward.
-Free Spin is removed from the Wheel after Round 3.
-Instead of a category, I will give you a clue to each puzzle.
-Instead of a row used for incorrect letters, the used letter board will appear below the puzzle.
-Solving a puzzle in the first three rounds gives you the option to shop for prizes or place your winnings on account. Any leftover money will be placed on account and is susceptible to Bankrupt.
-Solving the Round 4 puzzle gives you the right to shop with any leftover money put on a gift certificate.

Finally in the blue spot from east LA as in Lower Alabama, our third player is James Greek!

Me: Thank you, Susan. Contestants, while she takes her place at the puzzle board, I'm going to explain a bit how this game works. You're looking to collect money from our Wheel of Fortune so you can buy any of the nice prizes you see behind me on stage. You do that by guessing letters in our puzzle in front of you.



Remember, it can be a person, a place or a thing. I'll show you what's on our wheel right now.

Three hundred and fifty dollars is the top dollar value for our first round of play. I'll point out a couple of hazards. You'll want to watch out for Lose a Turn and you'll really want to watch out for that Bankrupt the black space. Don't hit that or you'll lose all your cash but not your merchandising because once you buy a prize from our displays, it's yours to keep. You've taken a look at our first puzzle and I'll tell you we are looking for the name of a well-known comedian.
