Good Heavens Bryan, truly sorry to hear about this most unfortunate incident. I trust you yourself were not injured, that's the main thing.
I know deer are quite prevalent around these parts too so I go mighty slow. They are lovely animals, but in developed areas and even not so developed areas with roads, they can be a menace without a doubt.
What will happen now? Are you covered for physical damage to your car or is it too old to have that?

I'm still covered like everyone else. I imagine I hav to wait until the adjuster comes and looks at it. The deer was a 3 point, I swore I hit it so hard it was doing flips. I don't think it survived.

GUH! Those sort of things happen near Hattiesburg, too. May brighter days be ahead.

I imagine this is a way saying the Good Lord is still looking out for me!

Lends a whole new meaning to the phrase "The buck stops here."!

Man, that bites. I live right near a park so I have reason to be cautious on the road. Haven't seen a deer yet but I've seen a lot of raccoons get hit.

Not surprising, since raccoons' vision is impaired by those masks they wear...
I've seen all sorts of road kill around these parts in my 30 plus odd years of driving. Thankfully, never contributed to it thus far!

What a shame it had to end the way it did for your car, but thank goodness you're alright. Every time I see those photos, I get flashbacks to my own accident, which I'd rather forget completely.

At least you're back Bill! It hasn't been the same without you!

Well after I left for work yesterday, they picked up my old Pontiac. This week has been bad for me.

You most definitely and assuredly have my sympathy, and especially my empathy Bryan. Keep on keeping on brother and keep on keeping the faith!
