(main theme continues)
Jim: It's your chance to play Gambit for possibly one million dollars. Text "GAMBIT" to 45454 before 8:45 PM EDT or 8:45 PM PDT for your chance to win. That's "GAMBIT" to 45454. Or, for a free entry, go to CBS.com/gambit and sign up there. Each phone entry costs 99 cents plus standard text messaging rates. You can enter as many as 5 times either over the phone or online. That's five times total. At the end of the show, we'll call someone live on air for a chance to Beat the Dealer for as much as $1,000,000 in cash plus thousands in prizes. Plus, that caller and a companion will be flown to Los Angeles, CA to be a contestant on the show. For more details, go to cbs.com/gambit. We'll return with more Celebrity Gambit after these messages.

*back to stage* [LAS VEGAS GAMBIT PROLOGUE PLAYS, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Welcome back to the second half of Celebrity Gambit. After two rounds of play, and a musical performance by Taylor Swift (lovely lady)... the host of "Gambit P.M." Bill McDee have won both rounds and a cash total of $6,200 while the host of "Split Second" John Bergman with only $300. Now is the perfect time for him to catch up and get into the game. Let's take a look at the big money board... [DING]Since no one have gotten the 21 bonus pot, we'll throw in $1,000... for a total of $6,000. And we're throwing in another $5,000 in the Blackjack Bonus... $35,000. We're using the same deck of cards... Jennifer, please reveal the first card in round 3. Jennifer: Our first card in round 3 and an 8. Tony: This time, each correct answer is $200 and the winner closer to 21 (while busting an opponent) earns an additional $1,000. First question coming up... hand on buzzer. 200, 400, or 800-- On average how many tornadoes are reported in the U.S.?

Tony, is that question meant to be per year?

(requesting a stop tape) Tony, is that question meant to be per year? It doesn't say anything about per year. Therefore, I'll discard that and go for a new question. Is it OK for you and John?

Okay with me Tony, yes.

The correct answer was 800 Since that question is now discarded, let's move on to a new $200 question. Still playing for the 8.
Capt. Lou Albano, Charles Martinet, or Gene-Gene... The Dancing Machine-- Who was the voice of Mario in Super Mario 64?

John have missed the deadline. Bill, do you have an answer?

|
Post by billmcdee on Sept 18, 2014 19:11:33 GMT -5
I seem to have a vague memory that it was Captain Lou Albano. If I am correct I will pass the 8.

[SYNTH BUZZER]Captain Lou Albano is incorrect. The correct answer was CHARLES MARTINET. Before we continue the game, I want to know if John Bergman is still available to participate.

I am....sorry, but having some problems with my teeth and had to go to the dentist. Sorry, for any inconvenience it might have caused.
Involving that card...I want to pass it to Bill.

Good news, John Bergman. I've just gotten a call from the judge and told me to reverse the decision. The good news is that we'll give you $200 and the 8 goes directly to Bill so everything is all fair. Next question coming up... Kenny Rogers, Michael Jackson, or Queen-- Which artist performed the popular song, Rock With You in 1980?

|
|
Post by tmann3x on Sept 20, 2014 21:31:58 GMT -5
Buzz-code answer: 78 1st: BILL (66) 2nd: JOHN (16) [BUZZ-IN]Bill...?

It was Michael Jackson. Or Captain Lou Albano imitating him If I am correct about Michael Jackson, I would like to receive the next card please.

Michael "King of Pop" Jackson is right! [DING, APPLAUSE]And since you're keeping the card, here's Jennifer as she reveals your next card. Jennifer: It's a 7. Tony: You now have a total of 15. Before I read the next question, you have a decision to make. Do you want to continue playing this round or freeze?
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Sept 22, 2014 10:12:28 GMT -5
Haven't seen many 10s or face cards, so I'm going to freeze right there.

|
|
Post by tmann3x on Sept 22, 2014 15:25:48 GMT -5
Jennifer will now place the freeze marker on Bill's 15. John... this could be your last chance if you want to stay in the game. You need at least a 16. Remember... answer the question wrong and Bill will be playing Beat The Dealer. Here comes your next question. 39th, 45th, or 49th-- Which of these parallels divides the border between the U.S. and Canada?

You're right. [DING, APPLAUSE]$700 and your first card is coming right up. Jennifer... please reveal John's first card. Jennifer: John's first card is a 6. [AUDIENCE GROANS]Tony: The Blackjack Bonus is now out of play. If John wins this round, the Bonus will continue. Right now... he's looking for either a 4 or 5. Here's your next question... Corey Feldman, Adam Carl, or Barry Gordon-- Who played the voice of Donatello in the original "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon series?

If you hadn't missed the deadline, John... ...you could have been wrong. The correct answer was BARRY GORDON (1987-1997 series). So that means Bill McDee is our champion for tonight! [WINNING BELL SOUNDS, WIN CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Congratulations, Bill. $7,400 for both... Autism Speaks and the American Cancer Society. And John... just for the record-- If you answer was right, this could have been your next card. Jennifer...? [AUDIENCE OOHs...]You could have tied Bill. No ties in this show... but had you gotten the next question right, this could have been your next card. Jen...? [AUDIENCE OOHs...] You could have tied with Bill. Since there are no ties, the game would have continued. And if your answer was right, this could have been your next card. [LOUDER GROANING FROM AUDIENCE]Your charity could have won the 21 bonus pot. Although you'll be leaving us here at $700... except we're not gonna do that. Instead, we're gonna give your charity, the Asperger's Syndrome Foundation, the house minimum of $5,000! [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Thanks for playing the game with us, John Bergman. [MAIN THEME] Still ahead... Gambit's own Bill McDee and our play along participant will be playing against our card dealer Jennifer for the millions. But coming up next, we have another live vocal performance... this time, it's Ariana Grande! You don't want to miss this concert performance. We'll come back with more of Celebrity Gambit right after this on CBS... LIVE! Stick around. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*fade to commercial*
