I just want to say I had a great time. I've had some bad luck in the game here and there, but it ended up alright. Also, Nathan, good luck in the Super Match.

Thank ya, Shadoe. Nathan, not only have you won the championship and $6750 in cash, you're the first player in MG-HSH history to receive this... ...our home game for the Nintendo Switch. You'd have to wait awhile before you can actually play this game -- since the Switch won't be released 'til later this year. But it's yours for future fun. By the way, all of our contestants today plus a lucky member from the audience will each receive this MG-HSH game for the Nintendo Switch. Now it's time to go after bigger stakes as we play our Super Match. We start off as we do with the audience match. We polled a recent audience and asked them for their best responses to this. Slide it, please, Earl. (ding)_____GUARD Nathan, if you match the most popular answer, you win $2000. (ding)Second most popular answer means you win $1000. (ding)And the third most popular answer is worth $500. (ding)Just in case you come up with an answer that didn't rank in the top three, we give you $250. Now, you never play Super Match alone, Nathan. You may turn to three of our stars for some advice.

I'll say COAST Guard.

My first thought was SECURITY Guard

One of my favorite films starring Kevin Costner and the late, great Whitney Houston... The BODYguard.

Can I submit my own answer?

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Feb 9, 2017 20:58:01 GMT -5
Well, hang on. Let's recap their answers, first. Coast Guard, security guard and The Bodyguard.
Nathan, before you commit to an answer, I should note any vote for the word "bodyguard" would match with the movie title The Bodyguard. We do allow some wiggle room in the audience match.
So with that, Nathan, would you like to go with any of their answers -- or reject them all and come up with an answer of your own?

Actually that was my first instinct, but I called an audible in my brain at the last minute and changed it.
I like your chances Nathan!

I had "Lifeguard". But hey, National Guard might hit the ranks, maybe?

Going with National Guard. Well -- let's see if the National Guard comes through for you. First, we reveal the number three answer for $500. (ding)Coast Guard. That was Bill's answer. Still looking for National Guard. Is it the second most popular answer for $1000? (ding)Bodyguard -- which, in a roundabout way, was Tony's. Indeed, we had a few votes for "The Bodyguard" -- and we grandfathered them in to the second ranked answers. Last chance for National Guard for two thousand dollars. Slide the big one, please, Earl. (buzz; audience groans)Lifeguard! Ah, man. Well -- Nathan -- sorry about that. But, we do give you $250 as a consolation prize. (ding)We match that as a head start in your bank. It could swell to more than $10,000. And here's how. Each of our stars has been randomly assigned a number. Four have the number 20, four others the number 30 and one has that elusive 50. Nathan, in a moment, you'll pick a star, he'll reveal his muliplier -- and if you can find that 50, that 50 times $250 means you play for $12,500. (scattered cheers) You want to pick someone who'll be of the most help to you -- but at the same time you want to find that big five-oh. So -- who do you turn to for the Head-To-Head Match?

Greg -- the man in the middle. Greg, please give that tab a tug and let's see how much this question's worth. (ding) (scattered cheers) 20 -- times $250 means your question is worth... (ding)...$5000. Nathan, Greg, as always, we must have an exact match in the Head-To-Head Match. For $5000, here's the question... BLANK BURGUNDY. That's B-U-R-G-U-N-D-Y. BLANK BURGUNDY.(Super Match think music plays)
(Nathan, please keep your answer to yourself for the moment. Greg, please PM Tony and me your answer.)

(I write down my answer very quickly, then submit it and keep my fingers crossed) (ding) Doug: Okay, Nathan. Greg's ready with his answer. We're ready for yours. For $5000, how do you complete this? BLANK BURGUNDY

(loud groans from the crowd) Doug: Two things we're trying to say, Nathan. First -- you probably meant *Velvet* Burgundy. Second -- that answer doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Ecuador. (audience laughs and applause) Let's turn around and see Greg's answer. Greg, do you provide a miracle? Greg: Sometimes, you just have to go with the obvious answer.... (buzz; audience groans; TPiR losing horns) Doug: *There* was the answer. Ron Burgundy -- Will Ferrell's character from two comedy movies. Well -- you did pick up some extra lunch money -- $250 from the audience match. Total winnings for one match win of a round $7000. (audience applause)And a chance to win more on our next show. We'll find out where the 50 was -- when you come back. (audience applause; MG-HSH music plays)

*shrugs* I can only say I tried. I messed up. Don't feel too bad, Nathan. Although you haven't seen the movie "Anchorman", it's OK. I've seen some parts of the picture and thought it was very funny.
