Here we go, everybody.... (SPLIT SECOND THEME) Ladies and gentlemen, This is Matt Ringgenberg from Council Bluffs, Iowa. He will be battling it out against these two other contestants in a game of knowledge, stragedy and speed. Only one will have a chance to win this beautiful brand new Cadillac worth over $40,000 and a cash bonus of $12,000. TODAY ON..... and here's your host: JOHN BERGMAN. (APPLAUSE) Thanks, everyone and welcome to SPLIT SECOND, the classic game show with more money, more interesting questions and a beautiful brand new car at stake. On our last show, our champ, Matt, won his second game but, alas, did not win the car, so we still have it as well as $12,000 in cash to give away. Let me out three contestants, starting with our champ, MATT. (APPLAUSE) MATT, welcome back to SPLIT SECOND, how are you doing?

I can definitely see that with the smile on your face, my friend. MATT has a grand total in cash and that great trip of MEXICO CITY that he won as a singleton prize on our last show of $4,825.
(AUDIENCE APPLAUSE)
Any plans for the cash, MATT?

Well, you still have some time to think about that because, if you win this main game, then you will have a one out of three chance of winning that car and $12,000. However, we have two people who want to usurp your throne and go for the car themselves. Let's meet our first challenger, CLEMENT.
(AUDIENCE APPLAUSE)
CLEMENT, welcome to SPLIT SECOND...tell me about yourself?

I never been to France myself, although I heard it was beautiful. Is this your first time in the States?

I do understand, CLEMENT. A pleasure to have you here and I wish you the best as well.
Let's meet our third contestant, MICHEAL.
(AUDIENCE APPLAUSE)
MICHEAL, welcome to SPLIT SECOND. Tell us about yourself?

(Not to be rude or anything, but it's "Michael", not "Micheal".)
Thank you John. I'm Michael Clifford from Marlton, New Jersey. I've been unemployed for *cough* years. (audience laughter) I may be the new kid on the block at Net Game Central, but I am no stranger to netgames. I was part of the Yahoo Netgames group for 10 years & I hope to be a member of Net Game Central for another 10 years (maybe even more).

To be honest, my all time favorite game show is "Press Your Luck". I mostly prefer game shows from the black & white era up to the end of the 20th century, although I do like some 21st century game shows. I also like "Split Second" even though I prefer Monty Hall's version over the Tom Kennedy one.

Well, "Press Your Luck" is really good and also one of my favorites. I personally liked both versions of "Split Second" and I hope that what we are doing is a continuation of the fantastic job that they had done. It's great to meet you, MICHAEL, and I also wish you the best.
When we come back from these messages, we'll start our game of SPLIT...........SECOND.

Hello, and welcome back to SPLIT SECOND. Before we start our game, we have to know the rules, of course, and this is how we play: I'm going to show all of you three parts to a trivia question on our board. Each of you will only be required to give me one answer in the first two rounds and each of you will buzz-in and the one who buzzed in first will have the first crack at the answer, then the second player, and then the third. The amount of money you get for each correct answer is determined on how many of you give me a correct answer: If all three of you give me a correct answer, then each of you will get $25 apiece; if only two of you give me a correct answer, then each of you will get $50 apiece. However, if you are the only one to give me a correct answer, then you will gets $100. Also, if you are the FIRST person to be the only one to give me a correct answer, we called that a SINGLETON, then, win or lose the main game, you'll win a nice prize. Tell them about that prize, Sandy. It's a MAN'S THREE PIECE SUIT from BOTANY 500 worth $750. (APPLAUSE) A very, very nice prize indeed. Now, also, in either the first or second round, we'll have a special question called a MEMORY BUSTER and I'll explain that when we get to it. Any questions?

In that case, here we go with our first question. Take a look at the board: Pick one of these U.S. presidents and name me their famous first lady‘s first name? CLEMENT, you are up first.

That's correct, MATT.....MICHAEL, your answer? MICHAEL: Dolley Madison. That is also correct and that means $25 for all three of you. Good way to start the day. Take a look at the board: Pick one of these abbreviations that you would find in a phone book and tell me what they stand for? MICHAEL, it's your turn.
