Dearest friends at NGC,
As noted earlier, I've had to juggle extra professional responsibility with other duties following a recent auto wreck involving one of my radio co-workers. Word came around noon today (12/12/16) that Joe McCool died while still recovering in the hospital. Survivors include his wife and their children.
Funeral arrangements are pending as of this writing. Not fully knowing the plan going forward, it is best I end my hosting here at NGC for 2016. I still have a few loose ends to tie up in terms of games. Right now, I'm not in the mood for tying up said loose ends. Matters should be complete tomorrow.
In the meantime, should fellow moderators at NGC need me, they know how to reach me. I'll still drop by here at least once a day -- even if just to browse and catch up on messages. Ultimately, I could use the escape from reality.
After we ring in the new year, I definitely want to start a new episode of MG-HSH with Tony and Greg. After MG transitions to HS, I cannot promise a full-fledged resumption of the games I host solo. Maybe a slow roll out of two or so at a time.
For now, the best thing to say is this. Keep the faith, treasure your loved ones -- and please think of my radio friends. We're devastated -- to say the least.
Thanks for understanding, Douglas M. Morris

I had been wondering about Joe. Doug this is such devastating news to hear to say the very least.
My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to you, and to Joe's family.
While there is NEVER a good time for a loved one to pass away, for it to happen during the holiday season stings even moreso. I speak from personal experience on that one as well.
If you need anything from me Doug, although I realize my resources and abilities are limited, even if it's just to talk one on one, let me know. You know you can reach me via e-mail.
With deepest sympathy and sorrow,
Bill

You're not the only one, Bill. I've had a grandfather pass away during the 2004 Christmas season and a grandmother pass away during the 2008 Christmas season. But the 2008 one stings more than the one from 2004 because the 2008 death occurred only two days before Christmas Eve. In any event, my deepest condolences to you, Doug.

Take all the time you need, Doug. I pray that Joe's family has all the strength they need to make it through this difficult time.
