That's it! (1989 puzzle solve cue)
T H E/N O R T H P O L E PLACE
(I walk over to Matt's podium) Home of Santa and his reindeer, of course. Well Matt, $3300 more for you that round. That takes you up to $12,900 for the day and you remain champ with a two day total of $27,750. Nice job, sir. (I turn to Kevin) Well Kevin, he overtook you for the win on that last puzzle. But $11,400 is nothing to be upset over. We thank you for being here. (I go to Antonio's podium) And Antonio, for your first time here, you did pretty well yourself. You're taking home $7,250 and we hope to see you here again soon. (1989 closing theme) Matt, let's head down the stairs and over to the bonus area. (Matt follows me down the steps to where the bonus prizes are) All of our prizes are still up for grabs. The Kia Forte worth over $19,000 is just sitting there waiting to be won. We still have the Chevrolet Cruze up for grabs also. The Italy trip is still here, along with the LA Kings ticket package. And of course, the big hundred grand is waiting to be won. Can he win one of these fine prizes? Find out after this. (Fade to commercial)

(Back to the studio) Almost 28 thousand for two days to this point, but let's get some more. (Matt spins the bonus wheel) A $100,000 win right before Christmas would be really nice. (Wheel slows down and lands on R in AMERICA'S. Matt hands me the envelope; ding) Let's get you situated over here and we will put you to work on this puzzle. It's a Character that you're trying to figure out tonight. RSTLN E, those are the magical letters. Vanna, may we see some of them? (Vanna shakes her head; I turn backstage) Harry, remind me to take Vanna's name off the Christmas card list! (audience laughs; I turn back to Matt) Well Matt, it's all on you. Three more consonants and one more vowel.

Well Matt, plenty of puzzles would contain the letters that you chose. This is not one of them, however.

This looks tough, but remember that the category is Character. You have 48 hours from now to solve this, but if you don't know it, just say so. Good luck. (Bonus round timer sfx)

(buzzer) Yeah, this was kind of tough to get without any help.
B U D D Y CHARACTER Buddy was what we needed. Buddy, of course, being from the holiday movie Elf. Now we have to look in here and see what you missed. (I take a quick peek before shutting the envelope) Oh dear. (I show the envelope to the audience)
$100,000
(audience groans very loudly; 1989 closing theme) But you've still done very well for yourself in two days as champ. An all cash total of $27,750 and you'll be back next time to play again. We'll take our final break and return after this. (Fade to commercial)

(Back to the studio) Me: A $100,000 win would have been a nice way to go out before Christmas. Vanna: Yes it would have. Me: But still, Mat does have almost $28,000 for two days and that is not too bad. Vanna: No it isn't. Me: Now you folks at home are wondering when Matt will return. Well with the holidays coming up, we're going to be closing up shop for the holidays. Therefore, Matt will return to defend in January. (Instrumental version of We Wish You A Merry Christmas begins to play) Merry Christmas, folks. Vanna: Bye. (Vanna and I wave; end credits roll) Rich: This is Rich Fields speaking. Wheel Of Fortune was created by Merv Griffin and is distributed by CBS Television Distribution.
