Last night director, writer, and creator Garry Marshall died at the age of 81 from pneumonia and a stroke. He had top moments adapting for television The Odd Couple. But the fame came when he was the co-creator of Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley, and Mork & Mindy. He also directed Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, both Princess Diaries movies. His final involvement was the direction of Mother’s Day which was to premiere this month. I want to add a link to the reactions on Twitter: twitter.com/search?f=news&q=garry%20marshall

Thanks for this Darion.
Garry Marshall once said of himself "Norman Lear's shows are like the main course of a fine meal, whereas my shows are the dessert."
Many sweet memories from the 1970s with Happy Days and Mork & Mindy, at least the first season, and to a lesser extent the 2nd and 3rd season. Season 4 of M&M was awful, much as I adored Jonathan Winters, having him as their "child" just was far too outlandish, even for a show like Mork & Mindy. I remember watching Laverne & Shirley back in the day, but it never did much for me then, and does nothing for me now, although I know it was very popular and had a very long run on ABC.
To his sister Penny, and to Garry's family and many friends, deepest condolences.
