Gambit PM thanks you, Tony Lane, host of Gambit AM!
Due to a family event I attended most of today, we'll start this episode most likely tomorrow.

Kevin and Bryan, at this time, please submit to me twenty buzz codes via private message.
All buzz codes should be higher than 0 but lower than 101.
You may, of course, use the same buzz code more than once.
In the event of a tie, the first of you who submitted your codes to me will be the winner of the toss-up.
After the question is asked and it is determined who buzzed in first, that player will have the option to answer the question or challenge their opponent to do so, okay?

picosong.com/wicm/Frank Caliendo (imitating Kenny Williams): You have the knowledge! You know the odds! All the rest is in the cards on... GAMBIT PM! And now, from the Bob Barker Studio at CBS Television City in Hollywood, your host for this evening... Bill McDee! (nice loud round of applause) That's me! A very pleasant good evening to you ladies and gentlemen, we're back by popular demand, the original game of Blackjack with a brain, it's the evening edition of Gambit known as Gambit PM. Of course you can also soon again see the AM version of Gambit, hosted by our very good friend Tony Lane. We've made some changes to our game. There will be two Gambit boards played per episode now, with the winner of each game earning the right to go there. Then, the player who has won the most cash after two games and two Gambit boards will be crowned the Gambit PM champion, and have a chance tonight to win a vehicle valued at over...get this, $70,000!!! (wild cheers & applause) Lily James, our dealer on the last series of Gambit PM is off shooting a movie. My lovely niece Lynn Jennings gave birth last October to a very lovely little girl, and we attended her Christening only yesterday. Lynn is not returning due to motherhood, and the fact that she is in fact expecting another child, sometime in early 2017! (applause) As such, yours truly will be serving as both quiz master and dealer for the time being. Now let's head on over and meet our first 2 contestants for tonight's show! (applause) We have a newly revised set. New set, new changes, but same old Bill hosting it. Please give a warm welcome this evening to Kevin Kolsen and Bryan Law! (applause) Bryan, you hail from the south here in the U.S. of A. is that correct?

Elvis of course appeared with former Gambit host Wink Martindale on one of his old television shows way back when too.
And tell us more about you Bryan. I understand you to be a NASCAR fan.

Fantastic! No racing of cars here on Gambit PM but possibly the winning of a car could take place, as we watch these two gentlemen race to a score of 21. Good luck this evening Bryan.
And Bryan's opponent, representing the other side of the Mason-Dixon line, Kevin Kolsen.
(applause)
Kevin you hail from the Empire state if my sources are accurate, and you are an accountant, specifically a tax accountant?

So by day you crunch numbers and by night you punch the old punching bag at the gym! Very good. No punching here, but perhaps a little number crunching. Good luck to you Kevin. The object of Gambit is to get to 21 first, or to get as close to 21 as you possibly can without going over. If you go over 21, you lose. Only the winner of the game will receive cash. We pay $50 per point to the winning score, with a house minimum of $500. So if you win with 16, you'd win $800, win with a 20, and you'd win $1,000. Winning the game also earns you the right to go to the Gambit Board to play a hand against the house, for even more cash. We play two games and the player who earns the most cash this evening will be the champion and get to try for a new luxury automobile! We have a standard deck of 52 playing cards which were thoroughly counted and shuffled under the ever watchful eye of CBS Standards and Practices. I shall now break the seal on this deck of cards, and this deck will be used throughout tonight's episode, both during the regular games and the 2 trips to our Gambit Board. Bryan, you will get to do the honors of cutting our deck. Select a number higher than 0 but lower than 52. This will represent how deep into the deck you must cut them. One other thing, if either of you scores 21, you automatically win the game, and... (CLANG) $2,100 in cash! In other words $100 x 21 instead of just $50.

We show you the first card at the start of each game. And in game 1, the first card these gentlemen will be playing for is... A good card, the 10 of Spades. And we'll be back to start this game, right after these messages!

We are back, and we are ready to begin this game. I will read you three possible answers, followed by a question. The first player to signal will have the option of answering the question or challenging their opponent to do so. CENTRAL PARK IN NEW YORK YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL BOSTON COMMON WHAT IS THE OLDEST PUBLIC PARK IN THE UNITED STATES? www.dougmorris.net/games/sfxbuzzin.mp3Kevin, you are first. You have 48 hours from now to either give your answer or to state that you wish to challenge Bryan to answer.

I will answer with Yellowstone.

Believe it or not, the correct answer was BOSTON COMMON.
Bryan, the 10 of Spades is yours to do with as you will. Do you want to keep it or give it away to Kevin?

I dare say to nobody's amazement, Bryan has elected to keep the 10 for himself. If Bryan's next card is an Ace, he will automatically win this game, $2,100 in cash, and play our first Gambit Board of this evening. After a player receives a card, and their score is 12 or more, and if that card puts them in the lead or keeps them in the lead, they will be given the option to freeze and protect their position, and force their opponent to beat their score. Now I shall ask another question to determine control of the next card in our deck. We do not show you the card until after its fate has been determined. THREE FOUR FIVE IN THE MOTION PICTURE TITLED "THE GREAT ESCAPE", HOW MANY PEOPLE FINALLY MADE IT TO FREEDOM? www.dougmorris.net/games/sfxbuzzin.mp3Kevin, you are first again. Since this is a holiday weekend here in the United States, I will allow you until Tuesday, May 31st at 5pm Eastern Standard Time to either give your answer or indicate that you wish to challenge Bryan to answer. Of course if you are able to do so earlier, by all means, please do so Kevin.

Post by billmcdee on May 28, 2016 9:31:21 GMT -5
I'll do my best, but remember, you are the one who cut these cards Bryan. (Laughter ensues in the audience).... Bryan has kept... (groans in the audience) Well, a 4 of Diamonds... Gives you a 2 touchdown lead here Bryan at 14 to nothing. You may freeze. If you do so, Kevin will need to answer at least 2 questions correctly to beat that 14. If he misses one question, you'd win automatically. You could also continue to play Bryan, but keep in mind you will not be allowed to freeze until or unless you receive another card, which might put you over. What do you want to do Bryan, freeze or continue?
|
|
|
Post by Bryan on May 28, 2016 9:42:19 GMT -5
Since Im the only one who has a hand, I'll freeze!
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on May 28, 2016 10:05:28 GMT -5
Bryan has frozen at 14. Kevin, you need 15 or more, without going over 21, to win. You must answer every question correctly. One error or if time expires, and Bryan will win $700 and play the Gambit Board for a chance at thousands more, okay? First question for you Kevin... SUMMER SPRING AUTUMN WHAT SEASON IS HAIL MOST PREVALENT IN? Answer needed no later than 5pm EST on Tuesday, May 31st.
