48 hour deadlines as usual and off we go. (cue intro) Rich: And now, a game of high stakes. Where every decision is a gamble and every move could be your last. High Rollers! (1987 main theme) And here's the man with all the action, Mark Liotta! (I come out to a tremendous applause from the audience) Me: Thank you Rich. Thank you audience. (Theme fades out) Welcome once again to High Rollers, folks. Today's show is definitely one that you will want to keep tuned to your television because the winner of today's match not only goes for $25,000 in the Big Numbers as normal, but there's only one car left in the car round. So today's winner will also take home a brand new automobile. But in order to find out who today's winner will be, we have to know who our contestants are, and Rich will fill us in on that right now. Rich: Our returning champion is an accountant from Long Island, please welcome back Kevin Kolsen. Kevin has won $26,449 in two days as champion and his opponent today is James Greek. Me: Pleasure to have you again, James. How have things been for you since your previous visit here?

Well I hope you have fun with that camp. And I hope that you or Kevin are able to take home some of the prizes that we have up for grabs today. Rich, what do we have for them to win in this match? Rich: We have a trip to South Africa. You and a guest will fly round trip to Washington DC, and then from Washington to Port Elizabeth, South Africa for a 6 night stay at the Shamwari Game Reserve. All meals included along with round trip airport transportation and 2 safaris per day. Retail value: $11,810. In column two, a new kitchen. The Frigidaire Gallery kitchen includes microwave with ten preset options, gas range with convection oven, French door refrigerator with water filtration system and large capacity dishwasher. Retail value: $10,606. And in column three, $10,000 in cash. That makes Round 1's board worth a grand total of $32,416. Me: All right, let's put the numbers up on the board.
4 9 2 5 6 1 3 8 7
And it appears that we have not one but two hot columns in this first game. We don't have that happen too often, so hopefully we can take advantage of that. Our first question of the day is this. On September 18, 1851 the New York Times published its first issue, introducing what long-standing motto?

I'm sorry, we can't accept that. While you were on the right track, the motto actually states "all the news that's fit to print". James, as it's a new match, all numbers are good so roll away

Oh James, you're very close. While Vancouver and Montreal have indeed hosted Olympics, Toronto has never hosted one. The other city we needed was Calgary. Kevin, roll the dice if you please

We now have four numbers left and here's the next question. The world's first World's Fair was held in 1851, featured over 13,000 exhibits from around the world, and attracted millions of visitors from around the world. What city did that fair take place in?
