This is board #5 of up to 8. Each show has 8 boards, plus 1 "Big Match" board during the halfway point of the game (prior to starting the 5th question & board round). The "Big Match" is where someone can win $5,000 bonus cash, not affecting the score of the main game. Thus far in the brief history of this version of "Three on a Match", nobody has yet won it. The faster a player can uncover 3 of the same items on the matching board, the more money they score. All money scored is kept, regardless of the outcome of the game. The player with the lowest money total after the 6th board is eliminated from the rest of the game. I have a "5 win/2 loss" limit on this show. Jon won episode #3 and has not yet lost. Matt and Marc have each lost 1 match, which is why their podiums are in red. During the first 4 boards, the money amounts are half of what is displayed now. From board 5 - 8, one of the items that appears in each of the 3 columns is a "DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS" card. If those are picked for example on the first 3 picks, the $2,500 is doubled to $5,000. For episode #3, the main game dollar amounts will be reduced somewhat... The player with the highest money total will play a bonus game board, where they could win a brand new car plus a cash jackpot of $28,000 (starts at 25K grows by $1,000 per day not won). This could be doubled up to $56,000. Stay tuned to see how that goes, and how the rest of the game itself goes as well..... Two new rule changes will take effect for episode #5 and I am looking forward to introducing those at that time. Best, Bill Meantime, it is Jon's turn at the board. 3 picks remaining. You have 2 Mannys matched. Remember, there is a NO MATCH card somewhere on the board too, yet to be uncovered, and the 3 DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS cards (1 per column guaranteed) hidden somewhere up there. Remember too Jon, you may only select a maximum of three boxes in any given column.

(FLIP) There's a DOUBLE card. We know for sure there is one in the 30 and one in the 20 column. If you use your last 2 picks and find them, you'll make a match in 7 picks and win double $500 or $1,000. If you try for one more Manny in the 40 column and are successful it's $750, so how do you want to play it Jon?

20 on the blue for you... (flip) It's Moe there. You can try for Moe in the 30 column or Manny in the 40 column Jon, where to for your last pick?

(FLIP) (audience moans) Wasn't meant to be this time Jon. And hey, look at these scores, very tight game still... Jon with $600, Matt with $975 can breathe a bit easy because he knows he's moving on into Rounds 7 and 8. Marc, you're at $550, so the pressure is on you here. Marc, in order to stay alive, you will have to win control of the category board and come up with a right answer. If either Jon or Matt win control of the category board AND get a question right, then that will be the end for you... The category board code number is 14, let's see what our players locked in at... And it's Matt who is in first. Matt, I know Jon's rooting for you to get this one, but if you don't Jon will be next, and Marc missed the code by the most, so stand by Marc, could be that Matt and Jon both miss here...never can tell. Matt, do you select top, middle or bottom?

Middle

Post by billmcdee on Jul 22, 2014 18:43:35 GMT -5
The category under MIDDLE is... OPERA..... Matt, here is your question on Opera... "The Marriage of Figaro" was a comic opera composed in four acts in 1786. For some money, a trip to the board, and to break Marc's heart, what was the last name of this opera's composer?

That is correct! Good news for you Matt, not so good news for you Marc. Marc we'll chat with you in a moment or two, so please stand by... Meantime let's see how much this question is worth to you Matt, both in dollars and in picks from the board... Well another $200, so now you are at $1,175, and 8 big picks at the board. The Jackpot is worth $800 incidentally, and that could indeed play a factor when we move into the final 2 boards. First things first however Matt... The big board is at your beck and call, 8 picks, plus a 9th if your first two picks you make should happen to match. Pep Boys themed board again since a match was not achieved last trip to the board, all the information has been shuffled around. Matt, when you are ready, select your first 2 boxes please.

20 Red and 30 Yellow

Post by billmcdee on Jul 25, 2014 2:48:01 GMT -5
20 Red was the "No Match", got that out of the way already at least, 30 yellow is old Manny again there. 6 picks left, which box next Matt? (((incidentally Matt, are you planning to do a new thread to complete your "Wipeout" episode here?)))

Yes I'll start a new thread. I'll get to that this afternoon or sometime this weekend.
My pick is 40 Red.

40 on the Red, hoping for another Manny or perhaps a "DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS" card... (flip) And a Jack in column 40. 5 picks left, you'll need at least 2 more to make a match, where to next Matt?

20 Blue

|
Post by billmcdee on Jul 26, 2014 6:51:44 GMT -5
20 on the Blue... (flip) You've got a Manny in the 20 and the 30 column. If you go for the 40 column now and uncover Manny on this next pick, and we know he is somewhere in the 40 column with the NO MATCH already revealed, That will add $1,000 to your score, which could be the difference maker in today's game. Which box next Matt?

40 Blue

Post by billmcdee on Jul 26, 2014 7:34:46 GMT -5
40 on the Blue... (flip) DOUBLE card.... So Matt, you have a 50/50 shot at finding Manny on your next pick, if you stay with the 40 column and score $750. On the other hand, if you decided to go fishing for the other 2 DOUBLE cards, and find them on your next 2 picks, that would score you $1,000. Up to you, what's your next pick?

40 on the Green... (flip) It's Manny, and a match! (applause) We'll add another $750 to your score Matt, bringing it up to... $1,925. Jon, our current champ has $600, and Marc, dog gone it, fell short by just $50. I think the same happened last show, you got 1 question right, had only 1 trip to the board, and the board beat you. $550 today, and you won $100 on our last show. Unfortunately, that's your second and final defeat here on our show, so along with $650 and some very nice parting gifts, we also have this round of applause for you Marc. (applause) Thanks for being with us, and I wish you all the best! And not just because I was born in the Garden State either When we return, will it be Jon winning his second match and eliminating Matt? If so, he has to overcome a $1,325 lead. It can be done, and quite easily.....back to see who emerges victorious, after this!

(Applause) Here we go, into the "home stretch" of our game. If after Round 7, Matt's lead is too big to overcome, the game will be called at that moment. $800 Jackpot question up for grabs, that could make a big difference in game's outcome, as could the last 2 trips to the big board. To the category board we go, let's see who was closer with the code this time...Jon could really use this one too... But it is Matt who is first again this time! Top, Middle or Bottom Matt?
