We're about to start a new match of On A Roll. Some notes are in order...
\ Kourtney Wilson returns with two match wins and $35,200 in cash.
\ This episode marks the final time the Mercedes and the James Bond-themed weekend in Florida will be at stake in Wally's post-Lucky 7 bonus games. Kourtney or his challenger would have to win the car in the first half of the show in order for the Florida vacay to be within reach.
\ In deference to a certain star-studded, big money sporting event on Sunday (Feb. 7), we'll bypass a qualifying question.
First person to respond to this thread opposes Kourtney.

Since I appeared on stage at the end of the last episode to play the audience game, I will oppose Kourtney as a regular contestant on this episode

(Sorry for the delay. Oodles of technical difficulties here. Think we're good now.) Staff announcer: Super Bowl 50 -- Sunday -- only CBS13. (vamp to opening theme)Tiffany Phillips: Today a... ...brand new car -- as well as... ...an exciting Florida trip and......lots of money can be won by one of our players today. To win it all, you've got to get -- on a roll! (opening theme plays; audience cheers) Joining us at the game board, from "Monopoly Millionaire's Club", is Paige Collings. Our dice girl for Game 1, also from "Monopoly Millionaire's Club", is Korrina Rico. And here's our host, ready to get on a roll, Doug Morris! (audience cheers) Thanks, Tiffany. Hellooooooo, everybody. Happy Friday and welcome to "On A Roll". We want to get right to business because this is the last day one of our contestants can win a brand new Mercedes-Benz automobile, which we'll learn about later. And if that player can win the car in the first half of our show, that player could go on to win -- this. (remixed 007 theme plays) Tiffany: One of today's players could win a James Bond weekend in Palm Beach, Florida.(audience cheers) The lucky player and a guest will fly round trip coach to Palm Beach, Florida for an unforgettable weekend stay at the Brazilian Court Hotel.Live it up 007-style as the hotel provides a private yacht cruise, a seven-course dining experience, a helicopter tour of Palm Beach and much more. This package includes two nights' accommodations in the lavish Hepburn Suite -- as well as two "Bond 50" Blu-Ray collector's sets, a private screening of the latest movie "Spectre" -- and a cash bonus of $7007.
This vacation package is worth $30,307.(audience cheers) All that and *more* cash from our Lucky 7 games mean someone on this very stage can win more than $200,000 in cash and prizes. Our players are rarin' to go to say the least. So -- let's welcome today's rollers. (theme plays; audience applause)Kourtney Wilson and Mark Liotta. Kourtney's our two-time champion with $35,200 in cold hard cash. For those who may be tuning in for the first time, please remind us what you do when you're not here at the dice table.

Well, I am a cashier at a national sub sandwich chain. Also I love to write, play different tabletop games, and learning new languages.

Well, as we used to say in my former stomping grounds of San Antonio -- and I'd imagine they'd still say this today -- buena suerte.
We also wish good luck to your challenger, Mark. Please tell us about yourself.

(Had a busy day yesterday, including watching the Super Bowl, so my apologies for the hold up) I'm 28 years old, I'm from Toronto, Canada and I collect retro video games.

[NOTE FROM DOUG: All's forgiven, Mark. My SB Sunday was quite busy, too.]
Retro video games -- I like 'em, as well. Everyone gets into Halo and League of Legends and I haven't graduated from Pac-Man and Frogger. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Kourtney and Mark, as you know, to get on a roll and gain control of our dice, you must win a name game. Let's play a sample name game to see how it works. (FF reveal sfx)A name game starts by showing you the number of letters in a famous person's last name. In this case, seven letters. I then read the clue. He got on a roll -- when he won Super Bowl XXIII.(sighs) Someone's trying to get on my bad side, already. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Everything was going great for my Bengals in that game until that last drive. We then randomly reveal three letters in the name... (ding)...and then you may buzz in and take a guess. If you're right, you earn the first of four rolls of the round. If you're wrong, your opponent sees three more letters... (ding)...and takes a free guess. And in this case, the right answer is... (ding)...(Doug mutters under his breath) Montana -- as in Joe Montana. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Now, Kourtney and Mark, let's play for real -- with the first actual name game. (FF reveal sfx)Eight letters in this famous person's last name. Here's your clue. He'll get on a roll -- when the clock in his studio says it's 11:59:59 p.m. (ding)(Kourtney and Mark, please PM me with your answer and a buzz code from 1 to 100.)

[NOTE FROM DOUG: No response in time from Kourtney -- so...] (Mark buzzes in)Mark? Mark: Hardaway. (TPiR Pathfinder wrong move sfx)Sorry -- it's not Hardaway. Kourtney, you get to see three more letters... (ding)...and one last time, here's the clue. He'll get on a roll -- when the clock in his studio says it's 11:59:59 p.m.

HARDWICK?

|
Post by dougmorrisontheair on Feb 9, 2016 21:19:28 GMT -5
(dings; audience applause)Yeppers. Chris Hardwick -- the host of "@midnight". Okay, Kourtney, please step into the box for the first of your four rolls. Let's load up the game board, please. (FF reveal sfx; Paige poses by numbered and blocked spaces) Kourtney, as you know, you're going to use the numbers you roll on the dice to uncover as many of the letters on our game board as you can. The numbered and blocked spaces hide letters. The letters make words that serve as clues to the identity of a person, place or thing. As you know, you may take numbers that match the numbers on, or sum of, the dice. Letters that are blocked by the question marks stay blocked until you correctly identify a clue. Word of caution: Please -- do *not* roll doubles. If you throw doubles, your opponent inherits the remaining rolls in a round -- and picks up one free letter. (Korinna hands Kourtney the dice) Thanks, Korinna. Kourtney -- you -- are on a roll. (Kourtney rolls)And you start off with a 5 and a 2... ...or you may play the sum and take any 7.

All right -- give 'em a roll. (Kourtney rolls) (audience groans) (buzz) Oh -- done in by double threes. You get nothing for a pair. Audience: Not in this game! Kourtney, please step out of the box. Mark, please step in. You take over for the remaining two rolls of the round. But first... ...you make take one free letter.

Other initial letter at the time... (Paige buzzes in) ...is an F. Guess the top clue or roll again? Mark, I should note since you're challenging, if you're wrong on a guess of a clue on the board or a guess of the overall puzzle, there's no penalty.

(a few applaud) (TPiR Pathfinder wrong move sfx)(those who applauded prematurely groan) Wow -- great try. Certainly fits with what you're seeing. But that's not right. You're still entitled to the last roll of the round, Mark. So make it a good one. (Mark rolls)And you do make it a good one -- with a 4 and a 1.... ...or a 5.

(Paige touches screen) Middle clue starts with a C... (Paige touches screen)...and its fourth letter is an A. Mark, that was the last roll of the round. Want to guess the middle clue? If you're wrong or want to pass, we start a new name game.

All right, Mark. Please return to your buzzer. Both players, hands on the buzzers please -- because the next name game starts now. (FF reveal sfx)Nine-letter famous last name. And here's your clue. This judge gets on a roll -- when she hears lies in her courtroom. (ding)(Kourtney and Mark, please PM me your answer and a buzz code from 1-100.)
