Well, Mark, staying true to this round, here's what I've got to say (clears throat):
I had made a triumphant effort to hike the whole trail in just one afternoon.

And an extra three thousand bucks just like that. (audience applauds) That gives you $6800 for the round, $15,500 for the game. (I pick up Ian's MDW) And he's got a chance to take us for the million in the bonus round, which we will get to in just a moment. (I turn to Sheldon) Well Sheldon, for your first time here, $6,950 is not too shabby at all. We thanks you for playing and we hope to see you around here again. (I head to Kevin's podium) Well Kevin, he overtook you in that last round, but $13,200 is still a great second place total. Thanks for being here. (1989 theme) All right Ian, if our math is correct, your total for three days comes out to $124,186 cash and prizes. And you could very well win the million in the bonus round after this. (Fade to commercial)

(Back to the studio) We could have our first ever million dollar winner here, but it all depends on how this bonus round thing turns out. So Ian, I will ask you to spin that bonus wheel and we will see what happens. (Ian spins the bonus wheel) Lots of other great prizes out there as well in addition to the million. (Wheel slows down and stops first A in AMERICA'S) If you will kindly hand that to me, we will proceed onward. (Ian hands me the envelope; ding) All right, Thing is the category. RSTLN E to start off. Vanna, any of those up there? (Vanna looks at the puzzle, but does not move) Well Ian, it's all on you. Let's have three more consonants and one more vowel.

You're right, it's gonna take some gut instinct for this. Anyway, I'll pick D, M, P and I—and see if they're any good.

DMP and I, he says. (Vanna checks the puzzle again, and still does not move) Well, based on Vanna's lack of movement, none of the letters you picked are up there. But stranger things have happened before. 48 hours to solve, but if you don't know, just tell us. Time starts now. (bonus round timer sfx)

(1989 puzzle solve cue)
O A K THING You got it with Oak. Now then, let's take a look in here. (I quick peek inside the envelope) Ian, I think you are going to be a very, very happy man. (I show the envelope to the audience)
ONE MILLION
(Ian goes nuts, confetti comes flying everywhere; 1989 closing theme) Rich: Ian, there's millions of reasons to celebrate! You've just won one million dollars! Me: How did this happen?! And with no letters too! All I can say is, wow. $1,124,186 cash and prizes, we're coming back. (Vanna comes over to congratulate Ian, I join in; Fade to commercial)

(Back to the studio) Vanna: Did you expect him to get that puzzle? Me: In a word, no. I mean, no RSTLN or E anywhere in that puzzle, and no help from the additional letters he picked. But he somehow managed to get it and we're all very proud of him. If you folks missed that number we announced before the break, it's quite a big one. $1,124,186 and the best part about all of this? He gets to do it again! Maybe we'll give it away two nights in a row. (1989 closing theme) The way things went tonight, you never know around here. We'll see you tomorrow folks. Vanna: Bye. (Vanna and I wave, then we proceed to clean up the confetti and streamers) Rich: Congratulations on your million dollar win, Ian. (End credits roll; fade out)
