(cheering & applauding) Back here on Blockbusters, and the time has come for our new champion, Raymond, to play his Gold Rush game for up to 25,000 additional dollars. Raymond, as you may know, this new Gold Rush is played in 2 parts. Part 1 is our question round and part 2 is the money board round. Right at this moment, you have 3 picks to take to the money board. Now we're going to give you the chance to earn as many as 6 more picks. If you look at the board, we have 10 numbers on the question board. In a moment I'm going to ask you to select any five of those ten numbers. 5 of the 10 numbers conceal initials that represent an answer to a question. Whenever you uncover a question and get said question right, you will earn another pick. If you should happen to uncover all 5 questions and get all 5 questions right, you will earn 1 additional pick from our 20 numbered money board. Two of the 10 numbers have cards that say "FREE PICK". Two of the numbers have blocks. If you uncover those, they get added to the money board, replacing two of the money amounts so you want to avoid those if at all possible. And one of the 10 numbers now conceals a "LOSE HALF" card. If you select that, then that card will replace one of the money cards on the money board, and obviously you want to try to avoid that one too. Raymond, if you have no further questions, please select 5 numbers at this time, and we will reveal what is hidden under them. I hope you find all 5 of the questions, or at the very least the Free Pick cards, try to avoid those 2 blocks and the LOSE HALF card!

And they have... A free pick! Brings you up to 4. But also the LOSE HALF card and a BLOCK, both of which will go up on the money board unfortunately. Two questions, so you can earn 2 more picks, for a total of 6 if you get these 2 right. What JG is the actor who just recently passed away, who portrayed Jim Rockford on "The Rockford Files"? What HTWWW was the name of a 1962 American film starring Carroll Baker, Walter Brennan, Lee J. Cobb, Andy Devine, Henry Fonda, Carolyn Jones, Karl Malden, Harry Morgan, Gregory Peck, George Peppard, Robert Preston, Debbie Reynolds, James Stewart, Eli Wallach, John Wayne, and Richard Widmark, and was film is narrated by Spencer Tracy? That HAS to be one of the longest questions in game show history! (Taking a much needed sip from my water bottle...)

(applause) Well done Raymond! A maximum total of 6 picks at the money board... That means the maximum potential payout today will be $19,500. Here's how it works. Hidden behind our 20 numbers we have money cards, lots of them. You'll select a number. If you uncover a money card, it will be added to the pot which starts at $2,500. Two of the numbers contain two halves of the word "DOUBLE", if you uncover both halves, the pot will double immediately. Now, keep in mind three of the 5 columns contain blocks. Two of the columns contain 1 block, 1 has 2 blocks, since you hit a block during the first half of the bonus game. Also, there is the "LOSE HALF" card somewhere on the board. If you uncover that, the pot is cut in half. If you uncover a block at any time, the remaining numbers in that column immediately go out of play, and you must select again. You may stop after uncovering a money card, either half of the DOUBLE, or the LOSE HALF card. You may want to because hidden in one of the remaining columns is a BUST card, and, as it suggests, if you select it, you lose all of your bonus game winnings, but you still keep the $2,850 you won from the match. So, if you have no further questions Raymond, the money board is yours, select your first number, good luck, and avoid those bad blocks and the bust and the lost half cards!

#13 is... (moans from the audience) A block. So $0 for that and now the rest of that column is out of play. Two of the 4 remaining columns contain at least 1 block, and 1 of the other columns has the BUST card... 5 picks remain, where to next Raymond?

(applause) There's a money card! $650. You now have $3,150 at stake. 4 picks remain. The Bust card lurks somewhere, and possibly the "LOSE HALF" card. Do you want to quit now or go again? A reminder, if you go again and hit a BLOCK Raymond, you will have to go again too.

That's a rather nice one! $1,250! Now you have 3 picks left, $4,400 in the pot, with a maximum potential of $13,800 for this game. Do you quit, or select another number Raymond?

A nother $1,000. Pot now at $5,400. Still a chance it could go up to $10,800 if you take your last 2 picks and uncover both halves of the "DOUBLE". Do you want to continue or stop Raymond?

(Audience screams) Oh no!!! www.televisiontunes.com/Blockbusters_-_1987-_Gold_Run_Loss_Cue.htmlOh Raymond...it had to happen sooner or later I suppose, we finally had a player go Bust here at the Gold Rush. (Main theme plays) But, you are still the champion, and as long as you keep on winning matches, you get to keep on playing. No limit here on "Blockbusters"! And you still have $2,850 from today's match. Back to wrap things up, right after this... ((snapping my fingers and shaking my head to indicate "Dog gone it!"))

That will do it for this edition of "Blockbusters". I was very glad to have you watch and appreciate you doing so.
Our thanks to our outgoing champion, Matt Ringgenberg who won over $16,000, and our congratulations once again to our new champ, Raymond Weaver. He'll be back with me, and a new challenger, with $2,850!
Bill McDee, saying thank you, and God bless...
