Answer: Daily Double. (DD sirens) Only two clues remain after this one, John, and you can risk any or all of your $26,000

(audience gasps) Hello! You'll go all the way to $52,000 if you're right. If you're wrong, however, you'll drop all the way to zero. Here is the clue for you. POLISH-BORN YITZHAK JAZERNICKI ADOPTED THIS SURNAME MEANING "SHARP THORN" OR "THISTLE" (Only John can give a response to this clue)

Oh, John. The $26,000 you just had is now non existent. And that's because you have just doubled it to $52,000! (audience applauds) Two clues left in Ballet, which one do you want to look at?
BALLET: $800/$1000
Matt: $3700 Kevin: $4100 John: $52000

(Looks like nobody knows this one, so..............boop boop boop) The musician in this case was Orpheus. That ends the Double Jeopardy! round, so let's see the scores. $3700 and third place for Matt, $4100 and second for Kevin, but this game was all John. $52,800 for him as we get ready for Final Jeopardy!, and here's the subject on which you'll be tested. (ding) 1994. (1991-97 theme) That takes us back, doesn't it? Clue after this. (Fade to commercial) (Matt, Kevin and John, the three of you have 48 hours to PM me your wagers for Final Jeopardy)

All of the wagers are in, so on we go. (Back to the studio) Do you remember events that happened in 1994? I hope so, and I certainly hope our players remember because that's the year that we are talking about for today's Final Jeopardy round. Here's the clue, players. (ding) THESE TWO NATIONS SIGN A PEACE TREATY WITH OTHER, OFFICIALLY ENDING THE STATE OF WAR THAT HAD EXISTED BETWEEN THE TWO SINCE 1948. Good luck, players. (1964 FJ! think music) (Matt, Kevin and John, you have 48 hours from now to PM your Final Jeopardy! responses to me, and please be sure it's in question form or I won't be able to accept it)

(Think music ends) This one was a bit of a toughie, so being a regular news follower back in 1994 would be of significant help. Matt, we come to you first. What two countries did you think of? (Matt's response is shown. What are ?) You could not come up with the two and that's unfortunate. It'll cost you everything, dropping you to $0. Kevin, let's see if you were able to come up with the two. (Kevin's response is shown) "What are Israel and Egypt?". Israel is one of the two, but Egypt is not and that means you will lose money also. (Kevin's wager is shown) $4100. You also go down to zero as we come to John, who had a commanding lead coming into Final. His response: "What are Israel and Jordan?". John, my friend, you are....................correct. You add another $47,200 taking you to an even $100,000 and making you our winner. (audience applauds) Now that's what I call a big pay day. We'll be back tomorrow to do it again, so please tune us in. So long, folks. (1992 closing theme plays; I shake each player's hand; end credits roll) Johnny: This is Johnny Gilbert speaking. Jeopardy! is a production of Merv Griffin Enterprises and is distributed by KingWorld.
